First, let me say that Miss Tee and Miss Carita in the infant room (who cared for my oldest when she was a baby, and now look after my youngest) are incredible. Absolutely incredible. They have years of experience in childcare, not to mention their personal experience as mothers, and are so skilled at caring for little ones, adjusting their approach and methods to accommodate each child's needs. They have many practical tips to offer parents (e.g. your baby seems to be having a hard time sucking on her bottle, have you tried switching to a bigger nipple size?) and put our children so at ease, that I have zero worries leaving my children in their very capable hands. I trust them implicitly. They are usually the first to pick up on changes in our little one's behavior (a suspected ear infection, teething, tummy issues, etc.) and are quick to communicate any concerns. They are completely transparent, but more importantly, I know that they truly care about my kids. My husband and I love dropping our kids off in the morning and chatting with both of them, and we deeply value the relationships we've built. Miss Sasha in the 2s room is perennially positive, greets parents with a smile, has a great sense of humor, and treats all the kids in her care with kindness. Miss Kassidy is skilled with teaching the Phonics program, and I've seen noticeable progress in my oldest since she took over recently. Miss Kristen, the center director, has an open door policy and is an empathetic listener. She genuinely cares about all the children in her care and works to provide a loving environment for them. Miss Sharon, the assistant director, has a natural "grandmother" warmth and all the kids are drawn to her as a result. I'm getting to know many of the newer teachers in the 2s and 4s rooms, as well as the new kitchen staff, and so far think they're all great as well. I'm sure I'm missing some, but wanted to be sure I gave a public shout-out to the many wonderful women at KinderCare who help care for my most precious possessions. The reason I gave four vs. five stars is that the center is a bit run down, and I think could benefit from some professional cleaning from time to time. This can be a turnoff for new families. (I do understand this could equate to slightly higher fees, but I'd be more than willing to pay extra for this.) There's also a fair amount of turnover, as well as teachers from time to time (no longer at the school) who didn't seem the best suited for caring for children (lacked patience, were yellers, or lacked common sense, in my opinion). I'd also love to see a bit more academic curriculum built into the school's programming. The phonics program, for instance, that my oldest participates in is something you have to add on (for an additional fee). Here's the impression I'm left with, though. And it's straight from the horse's mouth. I asked my oldest last night who her favorite teachers at school were, and she rattled off the following list: Miss Danielle, Miss Sasha, Miss Adrianna, Miss Megan, Miss Tee, Miss Nancy, Miss Kassidy and Miss Carita. I got in at 7am and informed the staff there I was going to eat my breakfast before prepping for my evaluationat 9am. After I ate, a teacher came in and told me "be mindful of my outfit". (Picture of my outfit in comments). Then she left. Then a second teacher comes in and tells me one of my straps tore and ask for a safety pin. So I did. Nobody had one so I went to Vanessa Peak and asked for a safety pin. She asks me if I had a change of clothes and I told her no. She asked me to go home and change. So I asked why. I wear this jumpsuit+shirt combo every week. What is the issue besides the strap complication I'm tryna fix.? She never answered what was wrong with my outfit, just told me I should dress more appropriately for work... I am covered, and in an outfit the kids LOVE. (By this point another teacher comes up to defuse) Vanessa starts yelling at her and asking if she talked to me. Yes she did but what was wrong with my outfit? Still no answer. I was told to go in the office I was told to go in my classroom. When I tried to move into my classroom, Vanessa threw her arms out almost hitting me telling me "No, don't go in there. You need to leave and don't come back." At this point I ask her to watch her tone and I yell for my child to come with me. Once again Vanessa is aggressively telling me leave and don't come back so I retaliate with "Bitch fuck you" and I leave. All this because I told her I was unable to complete her training for her and she switches up on me for dealing with a personal issue over the weekend prior to this incident. I tried to work with them, gave them a two week notice, towards the end of the notice, Vanessa denied care. My kids were immediately unenrolled from their center and now they're trying to apply over $3,000 to my account. Charging three months to remove my kids despite a notice being provided and care being denied. Instead of assisting your upset child, they will have all the adults in the center stand and record your child upset and send it to you. Staff is not knowledgeable when it comes to caring for a child and because of that, they try to force you to get your child diagnosed with a developmental delay or disability regardless of medical documentation. Part of the decline in my trust in this facility is that Nicole threatened to discontinue care two-three weeks prior to me giving notice because she wanted me to get my child diagnosed. She was not happy when I came back with medical documentation to the contrary. Nicole tormented my son locking him in her office on several occasions. Nicole has personally attacked me for not giving her energy while being down right nasty and refusing to speak with her because of it. New "ownership" doesn't own the facility yet and attempt to look for ways to over charge you or take advantage of state funding and assistance. Several thousands of dollars that I paid to them were "lost." And magically discovered when I actually had the receipts. The vehicles that they use to transport your babies don't have insurance. Accidents with those vehicles happen and no reports of the accident or the vehicle not having insurance are given to the parents. You have to find out concerning safety information through other parents and public forums. Several occasions my child has come home with unexplained markings. The staff don't like working there and verbalize it constantly and consistently. Several original staff have left several parents have removed their children from their care. Bottom line, avoid this location at all costs. It's now ran and owned by the church next door. They're in dire financial straits and cannot find employees because of toxic culture which forces them to have people "work" there that are not good with children.
