I've been looking into hiring a lawyer for something I thought was going to be really difficult and time consuming to go through the whole process. December 15, 2020 at about 1am I was arrested for a DUI. I fell asleep at a light down the street from my house. I would give the whole story but just know I was targeted/felt targeted by the police. I had a case of child custody case that went bad. I was also charged with battery and domestic violence. I got out on bail and I immediately contacted Mr.Hill. I signed a retainer via email only, never met him. He never took the time to listen to my case of false accusations, nor bother to get more evidense from the court to prove my innocence but instead only showed up for my hearings didn't give me an option to show up and face the Judge or others. Thanks to Greg Hill and his team I was able to stay working between hearings, be there when my son was born after my conviction, and continue to work to support my family. One year ago, I found myself charged with 3 dui's in the time of one month. This was a dark time in my life to say the least. I began to work at getting sober and at resolving the 2nd and 3rd offence, as the 1st had not filed charges. Some time around Thanksgiving of 2018 I also learned I was to be a father, as the woman I had become involved with in my sobriety was pregnant. I was still attending hearings for the other two cases, working, and trying make all of my classes. Eventually I did resolve the 2nd and 3rd offence with help of a public defender in early 2019. Though the entire process was terrifying as I was constantly either in fear of being remanded til my next hearing, or actually being remanded despite my attendance of support groups and letters from my employer. And the offer remained the max jail sentence for each case, until I was finally able to resolve them for a lesser sentence after so much time in sobriety and support groups. Here's where Greg Hill & Associates come in. No sooner had I finally resolved these two cases, when the D.A. decided this would be a good time to file charges for the very first offence. This was troubling to me as the court would undoubtedly see this first arrest as a 3rd dui, with the mandatory minimum sentence and all that comes with it. After my previous experience without private counsel I decided I could not and would not walk in to court and throw myself to the wolves on something this serious. I hired Greg Hill & Associates to reduce three felony convictions in three different courthouses to misdemeanors.  I had called around and spoken to five or six attorneys before speaking with Greg.  All the previous attorneys agreed that reducing two of the felony convictions would be easy, but the third one involved my being sentenced to and then serving time in prison.  All the attorneys I spoke to before Greg said that no judge would reduce a felony to a misdemeanor if I served time in prison for it.  Greg said that was not necessarily so and that if the judge found good cause and the facts were misdemeanor in nature, I had a good chance.  So I hired Greg and he delivered on his word.  Greg filed motions in all three courthouses and the judges granted all three  In fact, in two of the three cases, Greg had those convictions, once misdemeanors, expunged.  He overdelivered and I underpaid, as his fees were less than a lot of other attorneys, who turned out to be inferior to Greg. read more

I found Greg Hill through an internet search when looking for someone to assist a friend serving 22 years in prison for armed robbery. Like Mr. Hill, my friend is a military veteran. A law was passed in California (1170.91) a few years ago that allowed veteran prisoners in California who were tried before 2015 to have a re-hearing on their sentences if it could be established that PTSD was a factor in their crime. There are not many prisoners who qualify for a re-hearing under this law, and, as such, it was difficult to find an attorney who understood how to successfully present this type of case. First, the prisoner has to establish their rights to have this hearing under the narrow definition of the law; then, it has to be proved that PTSD was a factor in the commission of the crime (i.e., prove a "nexus" between PTSD and the wrong-doing). Few people have been able to meet the first criteria of eligibility, and those that have qualified for a re-sentencing hearing have found it difficult to prove "nexus" or win a sentence reduction.
