The food in here is better than you would expect from a place in a train station. The full breakfast is lovely. The sausages are nice and juicy, the bacon is crisp and the eggs are nice and runny. With a nice big cup of Northern Irish tea to wash it all down with you can't really go bad. Particularly if you need something to get you going first off. Its not the healthiest but every so often you can't beat a fry up. The staff are dead on and the prices, while a little on the high side, are ok. Certainly well worth checking out.

Although this particular branch is placed in a fairly busy area of the shopping centre (as large stores such Next and River Island are nearby) there is a complete shortage of seats. This means that it is only really useful as a carryout, unless you are willing to wait for a place to sit. On the plus side, the service is extremely quick and efficient when compared to other branches and I have always found the salad to be really fresh. The staff members are also polite and took the time to inform me of the latest offers. On a slightly more negative note, there is a lack of cleanliness around the seating area, which is more than likely a result of the low numbers of staff. The seating area feels quite exposed (in comparison to other food outlets within the centre) as there is no real sense of enclosure. At times I was worried that passer-bys would crash into me given their close proximity! Nevertheless if you're looking for a quick bite to eat or a coffee whilst shopping, this is the place to go.

Located at 28 Elmwood Avenue it's part of the Catholic Chaplaincy at Queen's University Belfast. Anyone can call in and use the Food Bar during its opening hours of 12pm - 2pm, Monday to Friday, as it's not just for students. Offerings are simple but really great and fresh; sandwiches, toasties, wraps, soups, stews plus tea or coffee. You order your food at the sandwich bar or help yourself to soup, tea and coffee. There are signs up giving suggested prices and instead of a till there are a couple of 'Honesty Boxes' for you to drop your money into. Therefore you can leave the cost of your meal or donate a bit more with the idea being that if some people kindly donate more, anyone who can't afford a meal or coffee can through the overpayment. 'Pay it Forward' and 'Random Acts of Kindness' are concepts I have heard of, however this is the first time I've actually seen such ideas in operation and working so brilliantly. Here they call it a 'Trust Lunch'. What I like in particular about this spot is the fact that there aren't too many gaudy, loud religious signs and posters on display. Instead Chaplain's is much more subtle and not being a religious person this really appeals to me. You can go into this elegant little café and relax without necessarily feeling you are in a religious space. A really beautiful area with a calm, tranquil feel plus there's a fabulous outside seated area right in the centre of the building populated with trees and plants. This 'secret garden' is a glorious suntrap on a sunny day. I've called in on a couple of occasions, finding one day very busy and bustling with crowds at 1pm, however today at 12pm (Wednesday 20/04/2016) it was peaceful and calm. I ordered a cheese salad sandwich with a tea which was tasty, filling and super fresh. There are lots of comfortable tables, chairs and sofas to relax in. Plus a snooker/ pool table, TV, piano and a shelf of board games if you so wish to entertain yourself. I was able to log into Wi-Fi and use it, although I'm not sure if it was Chaplain's own Wi-Fi or not. A really beautiful café in terms of concept, food, service, decor and ambiance. Well-deserving of top marks and a full 5 star rating, a heavenly place!

The menu is traditional and plain which is Ok by me as you don't go to Cafollas for fine dining but for old fashioned comfort food and the prices are good too. Think fish and chips, sausage egg and chips and loads of salt and vinegar for under a fiver and you're there. I thought though that when I'm next at Castlecourt Belfast I can pop in there as I'd only be a very occasional customer but again it too is also gone. (I have to update this part. I was in the city yesterday 3 Sept 21 and it has re opened but I still didn't buy anything - mind you O' Brien's aside the food offerings in castlecourt as so awful it makes Greggs very good.) It's not a store I would go to often as the food is more toward junk and fast food - doughnuts, meat pies, sausage and vegan sausage rolls, soup from tins, and sandwich meal deals. I'm not overly impressed with their coffee either, more Mc Donald's than Pret A Manger. Truth is their breakfast deal is the only one I'd get and only if there's no half decent alternative close by. Their sausage rolls are alright but our local bakeries are far better so they couldn't compete in our town. One thing worth a mention is their attempts at being human friendly as they do use free range eggs, they bake 'fresh' in store throughout the day, use paper where possible, and their food is free of the nasty stuff. They don't use artificial colours, flavours, added trans fats or MSG and they do try to keep a contented workforce. They've been named one of the happiest places to work in the UK.

They are loyal for good reason. Warm and friendly staff, freshly baked breads of all types and genres ranging from traditional Irish favourites to more modern breads, to a wide range of buns, cake and tray bakes. This place does an unbelievable mars bar krispie square if my memory serves me correctly! So know that whatever baked goods you need, you will be in good hands here!
