Here you can buy lush fresh cakes and bread to take home, or sit down and have a cup of tea with beans on toast etc and listen to the gossip from the eighty year olds sat next to you. This is one of the few shops in Portishead that has remained the same since I was a child, it even has one of those massive old fashioned tills. If you like time travel, visit this place, but do so before it becomes another pound shop or even worse.

We stumbled across The CupCake Bakery 10 days before our wedding and contacted Zoe. She was super helpful and pulled out all the stops to help us (She has been booked to provide cakes for another wedding already on the same day of our wedding, but happy to squeeze us in after I told her our situation!) We were worried about how the cakes will turn out as we didnt have time to travel to Bristol to do tasting session. I enjoy cooking and baking myself so super fussy about the taste (but will be better than no cake at all at that point!). Zoe was very helpful in explaining how she was going to achive the tastes and decorations and promised us the cakes will be tasty, not over sugary and super moist. we had 2 different flavours for the cupcakes (Mango+ passion fruit, and chocolate) and a rasberry based top layer 6" cake. They all tasted AMAZING!!! much much better than the original cake provider who cancelled on us!!!!Our guests couldnt stop complimenting the cakes!and the rose piping looked so beautiful!The prise was very resonable too! Can't thank her enough. its 12 out of 10 score. :)
