I called to ask for a receipt to confirm a service on my FSA. I was asked to provide documentation for a transaction a few months ago. I told her that I would need the receipt for a specific transaction. She replied that they would mail it out to me and she would also call me. This never happened. No letter, no phone call. The lady was probably busy playing on her phone when I called in. Unfortunately, all the good vibes I got from my first visit are now gone. Pleasant experience! I called in to inquire about my vision insurance benefits and a store associate called back and communicated the details of my plan. The eye exam was swift and Dr. Johnson confirmed my old prescription. Very approachable and great to talk to. Then once we got through that travesty they tell us we have to wait to check out which was another 15 minutes . This place is not good for seniors with disabilities and they do not understand how to take care of them. This service was horrible and I cannot believe the way we were treated.

The eyeglass prescription you get leaves off the Dist P.D. this as I was told in store is company policy. The contacts prescription requires a second trip three weeks later to get your trial pair. The Harrisonburg VA Americas Best is the absolute lowest level company I hope this store closes as this store is unworthy to serve the needs of anyone needing eye care. They simply don't care about inconveniencing the customer. They don't care about working within timelines to meet insurance deadlines. It should not take three weeks to get a contacts prescription. It should not take several phone calls to get your full eyeglass prescription that you pay $60.00 for. BTW, the higher prescription lens can be purchased for far less and you can get nicer frames from various different online companies. I went to this store in July 2025 because of the replacement warranty they advertise. Mary, the…read moremanager, was very accommodating. They tried to perform a virtual eye exam but said it was not accurate so couldn't be used. They volunteered that the could use the prescription from my regular optometrist, which had been done in Oct. I purchased 2 pairs of glasses at a cost of over $800, along with the year long warranty they advertise. I took the first pair back for replacement with no problem, but when I took the second pair back in January I was told my prescription had expired. I told them I had a new one done in Oct and was told to bring that in. I returned with it (45 minute drive each way) and was then told that since the original had expired the warranty was voided. There is nothing in the warranty that states that, and IF that is the case they sold it to me knowing it would expire long before the year I paid for was up. Calls to customer service were of no help and I was not allowed to speak to a manager. I told them I consider this fraud and could take them to small claims court and got no response. Based on this experience I would warn people to run the other way!
