After surgery, I developed a seroma and have had severe pain, pressure, and ongoing issues that never should have been brushed off the way they were. I understand no surgery comes with guarantees, but there is a huge difference between a known complication and a doctor who does not meaningfully deal with it when it happens. What has been most disturbing to me is not just the outcome, it's how little accountability there has been. I spent nearly a year trying to handle this privately and reasonably. I asked for help. I asked for resolution. I asked for my records and contract. What did I get? Five photos and a letter basically telling me that he might consider a partial refund only if I removed my review and agreed not to say anything further. That told me everything I needed to know. At that point, it became very clear that Dr. Goldschmidt seemed far more concerned about his reputation and online reviews than about the actual patient sitting in front of him dealing with pain, complications, and a failed result. And yes, I am now looking at revision surgery elsewhere. That is not a small thing. This was not cheap. This was not minor. And this has affected me physically, emotionally, and financially for nearly a full year. Patients deserve to know when a doctor appears more focused on controlling reviews than taking real accountability when something goes wrong. If this is how complications are handled behind the scenes, I think that is deeply concerning, and I do have to wonder how many other patients have been treated this way after the fact. The melanoma on my ankle was considered very small so assumed that it would have minimal scarring. To my horror, my ankle looks atrocious, as though a golf ball was catapulted right through my ankle. This does not appear to be a job performed by a plastic surgeon, it's despicable, painful (still), I am unable to wear socks or long pants without discomfort, not to mention looks deformed. Firstly, everyone at his beautiful office is so kind! Secondly, the doctor is so sweet! He gets these laughing fits when he tells you funny stories and his happiness is so contagious! My husband and I loved him from day one. I told him about all of my insecurities and we decided on implants to fill out my breasts with one implant bigger than the other for my smaller breast. We also decided on liposuction (he even did a little on my pubis mound for free!). He was so amazing before, during, and after surgery. What an amazing human! I went back to him again in 2017 for more liposuction and had the same amazing experience. He was at his son's basketball game one night and still made sure to call my husband to check on me during the game. He REALLY cares about his patients. Highly recommend!
