I saw Dr. Morris 17 years ago when I fractured my foot. He provided me with great care. Now, 17 years later, I brought my Mom to see him for her shin splint pain. What he did right: He listened to her carefully and addressed her issues directly. No shaming. He pointed out that she may be overdoing it and to rest more, while doing simple stretches to alleviate current and future pain. He addressed her casual shoes and athletic shoes and said they were good. I love the shoe inserts he made for me 17 years ago so I encouraged my Mom to see him regarding similar inserts. He didn't feel she needed personalized inserts but did say inserts wouldn't hurt and she could try them. He was respectful, considerate and overall had excellent bedside manners with my Mom and I. I first went to Dr. Morris because of heel spurs and plantar fasciitis. He helped me with these and things were fine. But then something changed, and I have no idea why. I developed a terrible sharp pain in my right foot that would not go away, so I made an appointment. I arrived 15 - 20 minutes early and was shown to an exam room shortly after my appointment time. And there I waited. And waited. And waited. I listened to Dr. Morris in the hallway going from exam room to exam room, but never to where I was. Finally after I don't know how long, it sounded as though all the other rooms were empty, and I was confident I'd be next. Just then, someone rushed in - they apologized for being late - and it turned out this person and Dr. Morris knew each other, so this person who arrived late was seen before me, despite the fact I'd been there for quite some time. Naturally it took awhile because they were chatting. I was the last patient left for the day so Dr. Morris finally made an appearance, with no apology for the delay. I explained the issue. He asked no questions, did not conduct an examination, did not order any imaging tests - nothing. (I guess his x-ray vision and Sherlock Holmes-like mind meant these were not necessary.) He told me to lose weight, sold me an expensive tiny gel cast, and said to come back in a few weeks. Unfortunately, a few days before my follow-up appointment, my father passed away. I called the office, and told the woman who answered that my father died so I needed to reschedule. She put me on hold, then came back on to say I should call again when I was back in town. That's it. Nothing else. She couldn't take two seconds to say, "I'm sorry." I never went back. I figured out myself what was causing the pain (it had nothing to do with my weight), and made a change that took care of it. I'm not going back to a place where people don't seem to care or have a heart. read more

Things were going well with this office until I was supposed to schedule a surgery for tendinitis. Things went to HELL then. The receptionist by the name of Monica turned out to be more difficult and treacherous to handle than I was able to do. Very unhelpful and unfriendly. She didn't know what Dr. Morris had told me; she said so herself. She was saying something else entirely. It got confusing. Furthermore, she didn't pick up a phone to do fact checking or ask doctor about questions she didn't know the answer to. It would have taken a few minutes of her time. Instead she gave me misinformation. She really didn't help navigate the pre-op portion of the surgery. I had to beg 5 times for the pre-op paperwork to be submitted to my primary care physician. She said I couldn't do the surgery because I didn't have a ride home. In truth I did because Handi-van and Medicab are acceptable. That she didn't know that is appalling since it is her job to know these things. Again, a 2 minute phone call would have enlightened her on that issue and then she could use that information for other patients with a similar concern. I dubbed her "DeMonica." Well, in the end the surgery being needed was a miscalculation. I don't need it. A second opinion by a capable doctor's office led me to Orthopedic shoes which solved my medical problem. They even had the shoes in my size at a comparable cost. I would give Dr. Morris and his posse a 1 on a scale of 1-10. Mostly because they are not on the same page and also due to the misdiagnosis. Dr. Morris is really good at getting rid of plantar warts. He's very nice but this office wasted 2 months of my precious time I can't get back. Therefore they receive this review as a thank you and I am also doing it as a courtesy to warn other patients about this office. read more

I went to see Dr. Morris for severe foot pain. He recommended surgery and told me with great confidence that the surgery would solve my problem. The surgical wound became infected immediately Two days after surgery I returned to the office, where Dr. Morris told me the redness and swelling were normal. He wrote a prescription for meds and then went on a two week vacation the next day. He spelled my name wrong on the Rx and I was unable to fill it. He had given me the name of another Dr. to call in case I needed something while he was vacationing, but he failed to write a referral so that Dr. was unable to see me. I ended up in the hospital for three days with a horrible infection. Upon returning, Dr. Morris saw me and wrote a Rx for stronger antibiotics. It wasn't enough. After another office visit and more of the same meds I was back in the ER. The infection had set into the bone (osteomyolitis). The next year of my life was hell, with 7 more surgeries (performed by a different Dr.) a total of a month in the hospital, and constant raging pain. It has now been two years and I am still experiencing severe pain and am facing more surgery. To make matters worse, every Dr. I have seen has told me the surgery Dr. Morris performed would never have fixed my problem to begin with. In summary, Dr. Morris performed unnecessary surgery days before leaving for two weeks, failed to make sure I would have medication/care while he was gone, failed to properly address the infection when he returned, and never bothered to reach out when I abruptly stopped going to office appointments (due to me being hospitalized). He talks a good story with confidence and charm, but is sloppy, inattentive, and lacks basic medical common sense. Seek a second opinion. read more

Finally! My podiatrist has an office on the west side of Oahu!! Located at the Physician's Office Building next to Queens Medical Center - West Oahu. Dr. Morris also has a town location. Great physician who knows feet! I've gone to Dr. Morris for plantar fasciitis through the years and have been so pleased with his upbeat and friendly bedside manner as well as his professionalism and treatment plans. I never have to wait too long (10-15 minutes at best) for a scheduled appointment. Also, I'd venture to say that if your feet hurt you're probably in the wrong shoes. He can help as well and direct you to what kind of shoes you need to be wearing. He also happens to own The Ultimate Foot Store throughout the island so if you are having problems finding the right shoes, he can help. I'm so thankful that this office was able to give me an appointment so quickly. My feet were killing me. I just didn't know what to do. I was massaging my feet every night before bed because the pain was so intense. I have a job where I walk on my feet all day so my feet never got to rest. All this pain was effecting my sleep and it was awful. One day I had enough, I called my PCP for a recommendation for a podiatrist. He recommended Gregory Morris and a few other places. Lucky for me he has an office at Queens West which is close to where I work. I call other podiatrists and they tell me they can see me in a month. I can't handle another month of pain so I keep calling. I finally get to Gregory Morris's number and they tell me they have an opening that day!! I got to see Dr. Linda Ho. I was impressed with her as soon as I walked in. She's very educated and speaks with great vocabulary. I was a little taken aback at first but i thought it was cool. She's very smart and she knows her stuff. I explained my problem and she told me what she thinks it could be. She said it was plantar fasciitis and that I need to stretch my foot and calves so that it can be more relaxed. She gave me exercises to try at home. I'm really horrible with homework and so when I went for my follow up appointment she kind of scolded me. But it's okay, because I needed that. I really needed to get some movement into my calves and feet in order to alleviate the pain. She can't help me without me trying her recommendations. She gave me the options to either try again with the exercises or try physical therapy. I told her I would try physical therapy. I thought physical therapy would be good because it would force me on a schedule to exercise and stretch. She had me go to PT Associates for six sessions. It was great and my feet are much much better. I know now it's a constant process that I have to work on daily. Now I make sure I do some kind of stretching or yoga everyday. I'm so glad that I was able to get that appointment to see Dr Ho and I'm so happy that my feet are so much better. read more

This office has the worst service when it comes to doing important tast. I called them 3 weeks ago to get a pt prescription my foot is still frozen . It was not filled today how can they forget to fill a prescription from 3 weeks ago. I called again this morning 3 times to remind them have itby lunch. whe i called again at 1pm it was still on sombedies desk who went home to do something. How can be lacadisal and not finish the task. They told me I was bothering them by calling. Wanting to know what happaned I get no respone. This office works like laxy state worker who pile task and forget to do. A bunch oif incompent workers who cannot take the responsiblity and cover their tracks sound like all hawaii goverment. The problem is with his staff, I guess the number one issue I have with him is that now that he has left Ewa Beach where I live, I really want to visit him because I like him. His staff on the other hand actually hung up on me in the middle of a sentence. Now that he has left Ewa Beach there is no podiatrist here. I don't know what kind of business sense that makes! But apparently he does not like going this far from his home. This is a long overdue review from a few years ago. I had plantar fasciitis and went for a consult. I was wearing orthotics in my shoes and special socks, icing, rolling my feet on golf balls etc. I could no longer wear high heels. I took my running shoes in and expected the doctor to analyze my gait and the wear on my shoes. All he did was give me a coupon to buy crap at this shoe store. Or recommend surgery. All about the money. I cured my own plantar fasciitis by reading a book called PAIN FREE by Peter Escogue. Basically you just stretch your calf muscles and do ankle rotations. For me, my calf muscles were super tight from triathlon training, which altered my gait, which gave me PF. Of course doctors and even my masseuse won't tell you truly how to fix it naturally, because it means no more income for them. I never had a problem again, don't need any orthotics or special shoes, no restrictions no pain. Don't rush to get surgery and get 2nd opinions! read more

Food. It's one of the main thing people Yelp about. But it's not just food. You can Yelp just about anything you want. Doctors operating on your foot are no exception to this. I recently had a bone spur on the top of my right big toe that was irritating the crap out of me while wearing my work boot. I was referred to Dr Morris after a pre-op appointment to rid this thing once and for all. He discussed with me while looking at the x-rays what he would be doing as well as the recovery time. Before I was rolled away to the operating room I asked Dr Morris if it was OK to take a picture of my foot when it was opened up before they started and he didn't have any problem. So i opened the camera on my phone and let one of the nurses take the picture. Fast forward about two hours because I don't even remember falling asleep, it was done. I was still coming out from going under with the anesthesia. My foot was wrapped and ready to go. With the pain of walking I didn't think it would heal right and have this irritating limp forever. But doc was right. Over time I did begin to step better if i didn't baby my foot walking. Now the pain is gone and the bump is gone and no more being uncomfortable wearing boots at work. Dr. Morris' Office charges $30 to fill out disability paperwork that previous doctors we've worked with would do for free because that's their job and they get paid A LOT OF MONEY to do that. Judging by the length of the paperwork, it probably takes 8 to 10 minutes MAX to complete. My wife just had an $18,000 procedure done, and with insurance our portion was still thousands of dollars. But I didn't mind paying. However, when I handed them a credit card, I found out that they only accept cash. What kind of business operation are they running that they don't accept credit cards? I could only assume that they don't want to pay taxes. That's normally why business don't want to use them. I asked the front desk why and they stated it's because "he has to do all the work and wants all the money to go to him"....and not to whom? The credit card machine fee? Business associates? Taxes? Who? I asked if they took checks and they said no. So they instructed me to go to the ATM in the lobby, which charged me $4.25 to withdraw cash. Obviously this experience has prevented us from using him for the next procedure that my wife was going to need. So apparently $30 cash is more important than thousands of dollars for the next $18,000 procedure. The thing I will say is that my wife said Dr. Morris is very nice. And obviously he knows what he's doing. But I'm sorry this entire fiasco would've never happened if they just had accepted a credit card and not made me go down to the ATM and pay to pull out cash for them. FIRST TIME AT A FOOT DOCTOR!! Linda Ho was amazing. I was really nervous because I had a splinter that I never took it and this was a few years ago and I wanted to see someone about it. Linda was amazing, she's informative, considerate and caring. Definitely not something I'm used to with specialists. She is truly a gem, a diamond in the rough!!! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a foot doctor. I visited her at Queens West POB 303. I loved the ease of the visit, it felt like visiting an old friend not the daunting dreading feeling of going to the doctor. She immediately cleared years of calluses off of my foot in less than a minute and now something that has been causing me slight discomfort for yeeeeeears is gone!! For a while, I was nervous as to what the hell happened with my left foot. I had ran the 2013 Maui Marathon a few days earlier and fell at mile 4, but I didn't think it would be so painful that I would have sought medical intervention. Thought it was something else, so I self diagnosed, but the pain became increasingly worse. Thank you to fellow Yelp Elite Kim M for the recommendation for Dr Gregory Morris. After reading your review and the other 5 star reviews, I feel like I had found the good one. Dr Morris's office is located on the 8th floor of the Physicians Office Building II on Luisitana Street. I've never been in POB II or POB I, so it was a learning experience for me. Thankful for yelp for directions and a sense of direction, I found my way here and its good to know where POB I and II are for the future. I'm not sure of parking options, but as with a large parking garage next to POB I, I'm sure that POB II has one of its own. Dr Morris specializes in feet and feet surgery. When I went to his office, I was nervous as to whether or not amputation was really necessary, since I was limping so badly. After checking in with the receptionist, I filled out the usual paperwork, then waited for my turn to head into the examination room. My experience with Dr Morris was excellent. He was professional in explaining what was going on and thankful that I didn't have to amputate or anything seriously drastic like that. That would definitely suck (and expensive too). He examined my foot and asked how it happened, etc and diagnosed right there. I also did X-rays just to make sure nothing wasn't broken. It was probably at most a 10 minute consultation with Dr Morris before he left and I did my X-rays. Quick in and out and it was pretty good. I'm happy that I came to Dr Morris for my foot issue and thankful that it can be fixed fairly easily and I expensively. Maybe I should've laid off the liquor before the marathon. Lol Dr Morris's office is really nice, especially his waiting room. Very vibrant and full of patients. Kind of cool to see many people at a podiatrist's office. They take credit cards for payment, so that's always a plus in my book. Normally, I don't carry cash anyhow, so that's a nice convince for me. POB II has a pharmacy / mini 7-Eleven on the ground floor, so I made use of that and bought lunch there after my appointment. Overall, if you have issues with your foot, Dr Morris is the one to go to. He is board certified by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. I was recommended to see Dr. Morris after being bounced several times as I have Kaiser Added Choice and luckily this office accepts this. I had badly injured my ankle in Oct 2012 as I walked down the steps after one of my training sessions at the YMCA and took an x-ray as the pain and healing process took much longer than my usual ankle injuries. Dr. Christopher Marsh, my primary care physician, noticed a small bone chip in the x-ray but suggested I see a podiatrist for review. When informing Dr. Marsh I was scheduled to do the 2012 Honolulu Marathon, he suggested I skip it due to my injury and the marathon date was right around the corner. Dr. Morris' office was quite busy but his staff were very courteous and informed me my wait shouldn't be much longer. I enjoyed Dr. Morris' upbeat personality when he met me and was very informative in my injury. I was so looking forward to the marathon because it was on my bucket list, I decided to also ask what he thought. I was honest by informing Dr. Morris I haven't been really training but have been active with cardio exercise but no long-distance running (except for the Great Aloha Run back in Feb 2012). He advised me to take things gradually to allow my ankle to heal and get stronger. He also gave me thumbs up to go ahead with the marathon. He totally made my day with positive feedback! Unfortunately, I got the stomach flu the day before the marathon and spent my whole day shuffling between my bedroom and the bathroom. Had enough strength to drive to Long's for badly-needed Imodium. Because I felt like hell I couldn't really sleep as well as being anxious for the marathon. Dug deep for strength and energy on marathon day. I may have needed several bathroom breaks but glad to report I made it to the finish line at Kapiolani Park. I thank Dr. Morris for his professional advice and words of encouragement. Just a follow up... We completed our thru-hike of over 2100 miles from Georgia to Maine along the Appalachian Trail and experienced zero issues with my toe/foot. This has been the greatest Podiatrist I have ever worked with. Very down to earth and keeps you well informed. I came in through the VA and my experience was just awesome. I had to get an ingrown toe nail taken care of and Dr Morris is the best at what he does. I highly recommend his clinic to anyone who has issues with their feet. Horrible 3rd going there and although I wanted my husband to see dr Morris we always get dr HO who is horrible at best. October 2019 hubby went had cut on foot and she first visit her bedside manner is like oh this may have to be cut off. Harse and when going to a doctor that's the last thing you wanna hear and a month later it was totally healed she referred us to dr dean sato which he went to check on circulation issues which he was cleared 2/2 he had a sore we didn't see under the other Side foot he had a fever and was swollen and sore the ankle we went to Er on 2/4 they have 2 antibiotics and said to follow up with dr HO which I had already scheduled from 2/4 that was to be on 2/5. We went and she was so'o hard on my husband she was like you need to see dr sato when we did and that was for another foot she never even read her chart or even see the Er visit notes and labs I said in that report I gave her i said do you see it's not the same foot - she went quiet. I told her she better watch her bedside manner and she was horrible she never even Read notes on what we was in for 2nd time this happened She never even looked over his current antibiotic at all. Now i have to take him to his kidney dr to review them. I was even a patient of hers and she never knew me but i remembered her. Dr. Morris is attentive and patient. I had an injury to my left ankle that was treated with physical therapy that only caused more pain. Once I saw Dr. Morris, he thoroughly examined my ankle, listened to my issues, and took an xray in the office. He then ordered an MRI and confirmed his diagnosis. With surgery i'm on the way to recovery. His staff is friendly and efficient and I can't thank them enough for their great care. read more

I have to say, surgery was a rough recovery, but who says it should be simple with them messing with your bones! Dr Morris was very soothing and descriptive before I went down for surgery. When I woke up, it was a piece of cake. 1 day post op, no problem. 2 days post op, forget about it, painful! Ha ha ha . Dr Morris encouraged me every visit and told me to be patient. Im the type to ask for instant recovery and no pain. I was not a good patient! Lol 3 months post op and now I am seeing the PT therapist, Brian. He was awesome as well. Painful but better! My primary-care physician at Tripler Army Medical Center/Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic sent me to this excellent doctor based on his epic rockstar status (5,500 successful foot surgeries with positive patient outcomes and still going strong) among my military and civilian doctors at Tripler and V.A., and because his office accepts/participates with TriCare/TriWest/CHAMPUS military health plan that paid for all my visits, custom-made shoe/boot inserts (life-saver for my TSA airport job on my feet all day), and surgery for my flat feet, revision of tendon, fusing of bones, etc. I score them them 5 perfect stars for all categories for Dr. Gregory Morris and his large support team lead by his skillful office manager Monica: e.g., excellent customer service considering it's a very popular doctor among locals, and among us military Veterans with service-connected foot injuries, and being very busy office handling hundreds of customer calls per hour. I went to him for what turned out to be a small stress fracture on my foot and an incipient bunion on my other foot. I was so scared that he was going to say I had to wear ugly shoes for the rest of my life. He took the time to explain which parts of my foot were being affected by my running and things I could do to minimize both the bunion and the fracture (arch band, etc). Dr. Gregory Morris is one of the friendliest and coolest doctors I see. He's personable and easy to talk to. He even let me take pictures of him giving my foot cortisone injections! And, he explained things well and thoroughly, so I wasn't left in the dark. Rewind to the ending of last year (2011) when I was hit by a car in a crosswalk. My foot was run over; I wore a hefty boot for several weeks; and still suffered from pain all throughout the whole first half of this year. The MD I was referred to by the Emergency Department was nice, but not a podiatrist by any means--he did not do my foot justice. I finally decided to make an appointment with Dr. Gregory Morris, based on his wonderful reputation at The Queen's Medical Center. I'm so thankful and glad that I did. My foot feels a bit better from the cortisone. Dr. Morris did warn me, though, that he may have to do a minor surgery depending on how my first metatarsal joint takes to the cortisone. Well, at least I have cortisone for now. He will continue to give me injections if/when needed, up until about 2-3 more times. Then, we can come back to reevaluate things. Dr. Morris is very friendly and outgoing. He took the time to explain my 5th metatarsal fracture and explain the healing process. I broke my foot right before my honeymoon and he was empathetic and encouraging. He gave me an aircast boot and ensured that I could still have fun on my honeymoon. When I returned from my honeymoon, I went in for a followup exam and x-ray and he was kind enough to ask about my trip. He's personable, outgoing and has a genuine interest in his patients' well-being. Not all doctors can make you feel that way. read more

I truly appreciate how Dr. Ho is so personable with her patients! She took the time to call me and inform me of my situation with my foot, my insurance, and asked how I was doing about a week ago! I was so surprised and thought how nice that was!! And today's visit was really informative and I really appreciate how considerate and polite she is! She gave me the expectations and reality about after care with a great metaphor that made me really relate and understand the situation. I was amazed with how she remembered my X-ray and situation and I didn't have to repeat myself (which I do often with my other doctors). You could really tell how she is genuinely concerned with your health and sympathizes with how much pain your in. She takes the time to listen, which I am thankful for. The receptionist/medical assistant was really nice too! I was early for my appointment and was shocked when I got to be seen right away! I went to their new office at the Queen's Medical Center West Oahu in Ewa. It's smaller, but clean and parking is free for 3 hours (unlike the parking at the Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu). So, I was thankful I didn't have to pay anything, because I forgot to bring cash. Phew! You can enjoy free wifi on the bottom floor of The Queen's Physicians Office Building. Unfortunately, no wifi in the doctor's office. And there is no ocean view like the other office, but it's convenient to come here if you want to be seen sooner than later. If I wanted to be seen at the Honolulu office, then my appointment would have been a bit later. So, it was nice to have an appointment sooner. The con about this location is the traffic, if you are coming from Honolulu. But it's worth being seen by the best! read more

I'm 35, Diabetic & have had a long suffering of bunion pains, a curling 4th toe and cries of help when it came to shoes!!! I have limited my active life to my painful feet and uncomfortable shoes. Dr. Morris office has relieved all that! My appointments have always been great but I am not such a particular person so waiting...is like any doctor office to me....seeing a diffrent physician just for follow ups were fine with me. I love his staff. Yes, The New Nurse that has you sit and wait for your doctor is not like the first nurse I had in May. I wish I had gotten her name! She was awesome!! This new one has a bit of an attitude but moreso NO HOSPITALITY. She's my only pep peeve because of having such great service before. Okay, back to my review on Dr. Morris. He's a great guy but I dont care to comment on that. His work and My foot is the revelation here. Exactly 2 weeks after surgery was hard. I have 2 girls ages 2 and 3. But you are briefed and should always research more on your own time to be knowledgable on what to expect in any surgery. Cause no doctor knows your lifestyle and habits. When you are told to rest, no weight bearing, no walking till such time. Then by all means take it seriously or your healing will not go well. After 2 weeks I felt strong enough to do some basic things..with crutches. Each day that passed I wrote down my concerns. Some days it would be painful somedays would be fine. And I noticed if I had done to much activity the more I felt pain. But, logging my pains and concerns helped me understand myself better through out this experience. And also, mention it to Dr. Morris or other physicians at each of my follow up appointments. And it has helped me to understand my doctor and my needs. I had my surgery in MAY 06, 2014 and AUGUST 2014 I was walking normally and strong. I have hiked all over Oahu with a balance I never had before. And I am excited to annouce that I will be having my next surgery for my right foot soon. My results have been life changing. I reccomend Dr. Morris but always DO your Research on What type of surgery you are getting. Read Blogs on what others had to endure and do to be prepared. I was referred to Dr Morris by Dr. Susan S. Hiraoka, DPM. What a pleasant experience. The front desk staff was very polite and efficient. Dr. Morris is one of best doctors I have ever seen. A true professional in his field and such an easy person to talk too. The question an answer session regarding my problems were easily answered. Surgery was an option but Dr. Morris said why operate if the minor discomfort I was having was tolerable on a daily basis. I have been seeing Greg Morris for a WC injury, I was bit by a PitBull on my right foot. I used my other foot to try to stay up and held on to fencing this foots ankle has been sore (I had a ORIF in 2013). I had mentioned this to Morris at every visit Prior to today. At my appointment I brought up the fact that I had mentioned my left ankle that I had a ORIF hurting to him at my prior appointments but that he hadn't looked at it. He responded by yelling at me that HE was in CHARGE and that if I didn't like it I could find a new Dr. I said ok but I still have to have it looked at I'm in pain... he responded yes saying that this would be our last appointment and stormed out of the office. By far this is the worst bedside manner I have ever experienced by a physician. I felt mistreated for asking for help. Don't put yourself in this position, there are plenty podiatrists on this island that will treat you with respect. read more

I was living in Bogota when I twisted my ankle really bad,I went to therapy for a while but nothing seemed to fix the problem,I had a constant pain deeply in the ankle bone. When I came to live in Oahu I started to walk and walk and walk to know the street names and get used to the city,and the pain started to become worst and worst,to the point I didn't want to walk anymore,I went to the doctor and she recommended me a list of different specialists. AND I FOUND DR. GREGORY MORRIS. He knew right away what I had,and recommended surgery,which I was afraid to do,but I found courage and I had surgery on November last year,he fixed my ankle,no more pain,no more loose ankle.
