From the second we pulled up, she looked at us with pure attitude, like we were beneath her. She made us feel like an inconvenience, snapping and acting like we didn't belong there. It was humiliating and completely uncalled for, especially considering she was literally with 2 different customers- how professional! After snapping at us for simply entering the premises, she continued to laugh at how she had just treated us in front of other customers (who experienced the whole thing) For reference, she was a blonde woman with neck tattoos, so there's no excuse for whoever in charge to not know exactly who this is and take action. I seriously don't understand how someone with that kind of nasty, hostile energy is allowed to work with the public. She has no business being employed anywhere near customers. She should be FIRED IMMEDIATELY. This woman ruined the entire experience, and because of her, they've permanently lost a loyal customer. Absolutely VILE behavior that will not be tolerated and this will be continually reported until action is taken. It's sad, because the gentlemen that work there are so kind and made our past experiences so wholesome. It was truly the place to go when you needed a break from the busy world. Super unfortunate how some nasty unhappy woman could ruin it.

We did have very close neighbors, but only on one side. Other than those people, there were not really any sites close by. We could see them, but they were through the trees. It was one of the quietest campgrounds I have ever visited, which was awesome. The neighbors played a little music, but at such a low volume, I could not even tell you the genre. They turned it off the minute it got dark. The showers were great with lots of hot water and good water pressure. I have no idea what it would be like to actually stay at this park as a destination, but it was great as a stop on the way. My only complaint was that our campsite was pretty good sized, like it should easily hold 2-3 tents. We had one 6 person tent. There was no obvious good place for the tent. Where we pitched it, we were on a slight hill and there was a large root. The other option was extremely hard packed gravel and also a slight hill. Because we were just using sleeping pads, we did not like the idea of the packed gravel. I guess that is fine for a camper or if you are using a thicker mattress.

There are two popular running and hiking trails, Eames Pond via old Bringham Road (1.8 miles) and Davis Hill Field/Laurel Hill Loop (1.7 miles). We hiked most of these two on this visit. There are many other trails for hiking, walking and exploring including the Black Hill Road Trail, Azalea Path and Judy's Secret Garden Loop Trail. Many of these feature beautiful azaleas, rhododendrons and other flora to be admired in the Spring. Eames Pond offers nice views, from the bridge and some of the trails. There is also a lovely cascading stream, small waterfall, sawmill and other historic buildings. There are some picnic tables scattered about, I could argue Moore needs more of these! That said, Moore needs a lot more parking. The lot is small, and many people park alongside the road, making it difficult for two cars to pass. Overall, this is a very pleasant park to visit, and you can take dogs on a leash. Note that there is no swimming here.

Tip: Unfortunately, the trails are poorly marked and contain no signage with any kind of background information. So...I really didn't have high expectations for this outing, but the pond is less than 15 minutes from my parents' house, so....off we went. Clearly, things have changed! The beach is now well defined AND nice and sandy (no muck....and good quality "sand castle sand" to boot!). My son and I had a great time playing, swimming and generally goofing around. The entry fee (parking) is $5, but that buys you a nice picnic area, changing facilities, real bathrooms, and nicely cared for grounds with plenty of room for sitting under the giant pines or eating a picnic meal. We went mid-week, and while there was a bus-load of campers, they were gone by 1pm, and we practically had the place to ourselves. This will definitely be a "must-go" place for us whenever we visit the grandparents!
