There are even swings for toddlers! I've never seen one before. And a tire swing for the riskier kids. I saw a pool, which would be great in the summer. I totally loved this park, and will definitely come back again. We just moved from Hawaii, so this is a step up from what we are used to. I'm going to love living here!

We weren't exactly sure where we were to meet in the park, not being from the area so we naively thought we'd park and walk to avoid the traffic and the admission. Upon walking in we realized quickly how difficult that would be. This park is massive at almost 800 acres and has sooo much. It includes (but probably isn't limited to) - a baseball field, dog park, grills for picnics and bbqing, streams, historic houses, nature, biking, playgrounds and more. There are even hiking trails and paddle boats, though I didn't see them. The price to enter the park is $3 and $5 for out of state but because we were attending a memorial the lady was nice only charged us the $3. You could easily spend all day here on a nice day. The one thing about this park that was a problem is getting in. The front entrance line backs up quickly and it spills out into the street. The street is like 4 lanes with steady traffic, so if you're coming from the other direction making a left over the 2 lanes it gets a bit crazy. I'd think a traffic person or park personnel would help guide the traffic a bit. A better question is why isn't the back gate open? That might lessen the traffic. Beyond that though, it's nice big park with just about everything it seems, and for an OK deal.

We ended up buying cones field with feed for the animals, such as the donkey, goats and the horses, and they have a nice feeding area, so you can pet and feed them as well. When we asked if there were any other visitors we were told no one else in the past hour. Admission is a fair price for this small zoo that had plenty of animals to keep us interested for a couple of hours. It was nice to see the bobcats active and the monkey swinging around. Lots of peahens and the peacock was fun to see perched in different places. We were amazed to get a symphony of howling, yapping, barking, neighing, and other animal chatter while we were there. The staff in the Education Center was friendly, alert and readily answered our questions about the animals. If you like feeding the animals, buy a cone of food at the admissions booth to feed the hoofed animals. Careful when feeding the goats. I was taking a picture of my daughter feeding a goat and I was within reaching distance of the goat who craned its neck over the fence and swiftly chomped on the cone of food. Sales staff are knowledgeable and ask all the right questions to establish what you want. No high pressure or "you need this..." kind of approach. Service is spot on. Had difficulty shifting to the top cogs on the rear cassette and their mechanic Chris was very thorough. He checked the chain length, the cassette teeth and the shifter itself and the stop screws. It was a bent derailleur hanger. He had it fixed in under ten minutes. Strong recommend.
