We were pleasantly surprised to find a parking garage across the street with handicapped accessible parking spots on the lower level across the street. The cross walk is well marked and easy to cross. You will find a handicapped accessible entrance on the side of the building. Near this entrance you will find an elevator. We went to the second floor to see a play. Once there the staff removed a chair for me to wheel my chair in. The acoustics and lighting were very good. We will not hesitate to attend functions there in the future.

The Bloomington Print Collective is RAD! It is a collective print house where the multiple owners…read moreare able to utilize the office and studio space. They have open times when non-members can come in, and the workshops are AMAZING! Where: Corner of 6th & Morton - Entrance is the purple door with their logo on it - located on the south side of the building next to the parking lot - this was the former home of Paper Crane Gallery. Workshops: I have taken the Introduction Screen Printing Workshop and it was great. For just $30 you get a 3 hour workshop where they take you through all parts of the process and you end up walking out of there with finished product. They are super helpful and really informative. I don't know if they have an age minimum but I think with a parent 12+ would be fine. I can't wait to take the image carving class. Free Print Times: They have available times where you can come in and utilize their equipment. The fee is super reasonable ($5/hr) and there are people there to help you. That being said, I recommend taking one of the intro classes first. Gallery/Work for Sale: They usually have some items for sale or on display but this really is more of a functioning studio than a traditional gallery space. That being said, if they do have an open house during a gallery walk I highly recommend you check them out! Odd/Ends: There is no air conditioning in the workshop so come prepared with some water, there are bathrooms on-site, and they can work from images both in-hand or those on a flash drive or emailed to them. They have a ramp into the building but I wouldn't put them in the super-accessible category just because so much of the work needs to be done while standing. Parking is on the street or in the lot located to the south side of the building.

Photography, sculpture, ink drawings, let your imagination run wild. The other side to the artisans are the renting of art spaces and tiny business areas. They're often quite cost-effective, and a community of artisans has resulted in their various locations (and availability to enter during the pandemic is mixed and limited-- see their website). If art is beauty to you, you'll find something-- maybe many things-- you'll like. Be sure to check the website for pandemic restrictions before you go.

In 2017, a series of public art murals were added around the exterior of the building at 222 W 2nd…read moreStreet along the B-Line Trail. Five artists and titles have been identified in the project and additional art can be seen including Friendly Beasts' door which is painted, but not identified on the plaque mounted on the street side of the building. The first piece on the west side of the building is a brightly colored piece called "Unity is Community" by C D Culper. There are multiple human figures each only having one eye open. The faces also seem to have a second profile face obscuring half of the face directly looking at the viewer. The next piece is the "Entrance to Paradise" by Haider Ali. The small mural covers a doorway and has a beautiful mountain scenic painted. On the north end of the wall is the huge mural called "Wooden Wall of Life" by Adam Long. This piece stretches over several openings in the wall and is done in mostly blues and greens with images of twisted trees and roots that take on human form. Around to the north side of the building is another large mural with a rainbow of colors forming swirls for a background while additional objects seem to float in front. This is called "Sacred Journey" by Sacred Matthews. On the east side of the building by the parking lot is "Hive Mind" by Laura Brikmanis. It depicts a honeycomb with oversized bees crawling around. The art work is so precise that I am guessing she used a template/stencil to create the perfect geometry of the honeycomb grid and possibly on the bees too. It's a great collection of local talent and a way to check out multiple pieces all in one location. Note: To the north of the building is the Bluetip Billiards building that has a colorful mural of pool balls on the side and front.
