Needed work done fairly quickly as some of my old gutter was removed as part of the overall project. I was told it could be done "within two weeks". After a week went by, I hadn't been contacted about scheduling so I called. I was told on a Friday they would be coming Monday. Great. A crew arrived Monday morning just before 9:00 am. We discussed the fascia that would need to be replaced at an extra charge after I questioned the footage, and settled on the amount. The crew tore down the old gutters, causing some but minimal damage to my landscaping. It was a hot day, so I offered them cold water and soft drinks throughout the day. At around 2:00 pm, I offered to go get them food, but the lead guy said they were leaving soon, so instead I opted to make a quick trip to get them cash as a tip so that they could get food. When I got back, I found they weren't packing up to leave as I'd been told, and had kept on working. It was during this time that I discovered them using metal scissors to cut up the gutter guards. The lead guy said this had to be done for all of the gutters. I questioned this because I didn't understand why the guards didn't fit the gutters. I worried about people in the future removing these guards to clean the gutters dealing with jagged edges. There was no resolution. After showing me the last downspout they were about to install, I questioned why one of the pieces had been smashed in. I asked that it be bumped out and the lead guy agreed. It was not fixed, as I discovered later. It seemed to be their practice to smash each piece in order to make the process of attaching the connections easier for them. In doing so, the gap they created in each connection point allowed debris to enter the gutter. As a homeowner for 40 years across 3 homes, I've never observed downspouts with damage to this extent. The crew left around 4:30 and said they'd be back the next morning as they'd run out of the gutter guards. I inspected the work after they left and found a small section of gutter where the gutter guard had 4 pieces mashed together with pieces sticking up, gaps between the pieces and a significant gap at the end where the piece wasn't long enough. This should have been one long piece. I also checked each downspout and discovered more instances of smashed in gutter pieces. I was upset that the crew did not fix the downspout that had been smashed in. I emailed Jare with my concerns, asking him to inspect the work before they did anything else. I was concerned that they had cut corners on the rest of my house similar to what they had done to the small section I looked at. He refused and said he would inspect it when they were done. I told him I would have my son look at it so that I could get comfortable with it. He sent someone else in sort of a good cop bad cop situation to try to smooth things over. It was clear that Jare was very angry and didn't want to deal with me. The crew fixed or so I thought the smashed sections of downspout and replaced the poorly installed section of gutter guard with two pieces instead of the multiple pieces that had been there. I later realized that I needed a downspout off of my front porch as one had been removed as part of a project to remove an overhang. Jare agreed that one was needed. As I needed to paint a porch railing first, I contacted Jare when that was done. Instead of doing the work themselves, they contacted a third party to install the downspout and fix a sealant issue that cropped up during a heavy rain. The cost to me was $500 for the downspout, far above the average for a single downspout. I declined, as I'd already paid them $6,700 for gutters and gutter guards for a 1,300 sq ft house.

I received a letter from my mortgage company in February 2026 informing me that my mortgage cost was rising due to the increase of my insurance premium. Which all had to do with the age of my roof (21yrs old). I knew then that I had to get the roof replaced. Well a couple of weeks later I get a call from Logan Stotler with a company called United Contracting & Roofing and he stated that he was working in my area and wanted to know if he could come by and do a free roof inspection and I was like sure why not. Well I must say upon completion of the roof inspection and going over the cost for replacing it, I just knew that this was the company to go with. The process from start to finish was smooth and I could tell that he was not trying to get over on me or one up me, he was truly genuine and he earned my trust. I was concerned about the fact that I had solar panels and was hoping that they would not be an issue and they were not an issue at all. As a matter of fact I needed another company to service my solar panels as the company that installed them has since gone out of business, so this worked in my favor. I was so pleased with Logan's knowledge and expertise in helping me throughout the process and he always and I do mean that he always was available to answer any questions or concerns that I had. The guys that removed and installed the roof was so professional and clean up was exceptional. They went all over the yard with magnets to pick up any nails that may have fallen outside of the tarp areas. All in all I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is in need of a roof replacement.

But when I met Tom, the timing couldn't have been better. We knew it was time and there was clearly hail damage. Tom was friendly, courteous, respectful of our time, and followed through with the things he said. He worked with us and our insurance company and made the entire process seamless. The process was so much easier than I thought it would be - all because we had Tom's help. The crew finished the work on our roof in a timely manner and they were all complete professionals. Matthew, the project manager, made sure he attended to all of the details. The crew worked diligently to protect our garden and outside equipment. They put a wooden box over my just bloomed iris and saved it, as well as a small Lenten rosebush. They also covered my husband's electric vehicle charger with a board. They did very fast and meticulous work, and when they cleaned up, they left our property better than they found it. They even offered to come back if we found any nails and do an additional sweep. (We did find some nails but very few in my estimation.) They covered everything with tarps and worked hard to clean up the property and leave it pristine. Everyone was friendly and they worked together as a team. It had been about four months since they completed our roof and it still looks wonderful! I can't recommend United Contracting and Roofing highly enough! In fact, I recommended them to a neighbor!
