The entire experience was wonderful. We requested a Quote for a New Roof, as we thought we had Hail Damage. The representative, Rocky, showed up at the scheduled time and did a thorough assessment from both outside the home up on the Roof, and also inside the Home in the Attic. He provided 3 Estimates to us in a timely manner. We were going back and forth with our Insurance Company and we were ultimately denied for them to pay a Claim for Hail Damages. During that period of Time, Rocky checked in with us to see if he could offer any assistance, etc. Once the Claim was officially denied, we had a Total of 5 Roofing Companies, including Hayes, to quote a Roof Replacement. Even though Hayes was not the least expensive, based on the thorough estimate process, the thoroughness of explaining the 3 Quote options, the follow up by Rocky and the Hayes reputation, we decided to go with them. We scheduled with them for 10/20/2025. They confirmed the week prior to make sure that date was still good for us. The crew showed up on time. They spent time covering up shrubbery, the pool, the decks, etc., before beginning to remove the old Roof. The crew worked all Day and finished the Job and did a great Job in cleaning up afterwards. During the day, the Project Manager called and also came by, to check on the progress. The following day, another Hayes employee came to remove the leftover supplies, to inquire how things went and to take pictures of the completed project. This is a long review so buckle up! After Helene we called many roofers to come out and give us a quote. We had a local roofer in Columbus, NC string us along for a couple of months saying they were working with our insurance to ultimately never provide a quote. I still don't understand why they would string us along like that. After we gave up on them we called many companies. Another local company in Rutherfordton kept saying they would give us a quote and didn't show for weeks, in fact they never showed. Another company came but wouldn't get on the roof to inspect the damage from the storm and said it was up to our insurance company to tell them how bad the damage was so they could provide a quote. Another told us it would be $500 to give us a quote. It went on for months, and for months we couldn't leave our home for fear of rain since we had to manage leaks when it did. At our wits end, we reached out to a local charity to see if they had worked with anyone and they recommended a roofer who showed up the same day. He quoted not only the roof, but our porch that was destroyed too. He worked with our insurance company and we finally thought, hey we are going to be ok. For months he pushed off the work and asked for multiple deposits before the work began, but we were desperate and although the alarm bells were sounding went along with it. Weeks passed and then he was finally ready to start. He not only exhausted every dollar the insurance company gave us for the roof but also for the porch. He spent three weeks at our house and managed to break a window, leave screws everywhere, garbage all over our yard, his employees stole tools from us and then he stopped showing up. Did he give us great reasons, yes, but the fact remained we still didn't have a roof and worse yet we were more exposed than when we started. Realizing our costly mistake I began researching roofing companies. I saw Hayes and read the reviews and gave them a desperate call. They showed up the same day to give us a quote and before the days end they were hired to come in and fix the utter mess the other guy left. The next morning bright and early a crew of four angels showed up at our house sorted through the mess and got right to work. They must have put in 12hrs the first day. Yesterday two guys showed up to finish the job. Everyone was kind, hard working and obviously took great pride in their work. Last night a crazy rain storm came through just hours after they finished our roof. 288 days after Helene, and we were finally ok thanks to Hayes. I wish we had called them first. Please don't make the mistake we did and go with someone else. These guys are top notch and I will be whole heartedly singing their praises to anyone who will listen. read more

I had a great experience with Doug Cook at Hayes Roofing. Very professional, kept me in the loop and explained the process to me. He was here when the adjuster came from the insurance company and when the workers came to replace my roof he showed up to make sure everything was ok.
