I was asking for my PM MEDS I REGULARLY take as they were going to be admitting Me for a procedure In the AM. so I told her I take them around 9 PM here it is nearly 2 AM five hours later and my heart's racing because I didn't take my night meds as she sits there eating an apple and passing the buck with excuses which I can't stand passing the excuses get up and look get up and do something get up and find out you're getting paid you work here when I worked as a nurse in the hospital I worked my ass off for patients because I actually cared .. now a furthermore 2 girls on a stretcher in the hall coughing non stop .. if contagious should be in a private room with door shut or at least have mask up to prevent any spread . I'm now a practitioner so I've seen many years of hospital care workers . Griffen Health I like you please check into the RNs doing the correct procedure. Got a call from a (475) area code number from "Lisa" she stated i need to pay $500 upfront for a procedure and she will take cash/check or credit card! The "procedure" aka pacemaker was denied by my griffin hospital insurance- Meritain health, yet they still want me to pay. For what? i have a heart condition and the insurance decides my health outcome. Wow! How sad what our medical care has become. Hmmm...can you spell SCAMMER? am currently staying in the hospital The e.r doctor in the e.d are always amazing Especially a tall lady with glasses I for got her name she is absolutely amazing but i only seen her once also the nurses in the ed are great some not all but there's 2 e.r drs who treat me like a Dog there names was dr Q and dr Ryan I had surgery 10 months ago on my back it was a unsuccessful surgery that left me with chronic pain and arthritis in my back yesterday lest week while in excruciating pain from a very bad fall the lady the glasses was absolutely amazing well she left and then DR Q TOOK OVER started off by lying that he looked at my x-ray when he never did. I asked him to see if I had a cracked rib from the fall. He went to somebody else's room for a patient. Came back out never touched. The computer. Told me he looked at it. You're absolutely fine. We can't do nothing for you. Go to your pain management. So I listen to him I did that my pain management can't help me until September 6 I stood out of the hospital for four days and excruciating pain barely walking I could not have took the pain anymore so I went back THAT'S WHAT I MEANT DR. RYAN his opening statement to me after waiting for him to come for two hours was I'm gonna give you 1 mg of the Daludid (Mind you am 300 pounds 1 mg does nothing) And after I give you the 1 mg I'm gonna discharge Pain was so bad I did not sleep for five days He couldn't wait to get me out of the room never ran a test never seen. Nothing did not care for nothing. He just wanted me gone. He was trying to distract me against my will while I was still in excruciating pain, crying in bed. Q came back in the room After I requested him for over 3 hours He walk in and told me u should wait for September 6th appointment with pain management mind yous August 22 He tried to discharge me and put me in the hallway to wait in the hallway mind you am rollled up in a ball crying i apelled that decision and ended up Admitting me upstairs since I been here they treated me worst then the e.r Am still in the hospital every nurse is lying thru there teeth and the drs don't give a Crap One nurse told me if we give you a 100 ml of tramadol youll have kidney failure so I demanded to talk too dr he came in the roon he asked me how much milligrams I took at home. I told him 100 he said OK I'm here. It's at 50 so I told him, but your nurse said that this could cause me kidney failure. I am receiving calls from Griffin hospital to sell me a service. They must have got the information from my care provider. I have received 2 calls in the last 2 days.One in which I spoke to the gentleman and said I was not interested. I have also gotten a text from somebody telling me they wanted to introduce themselves. They are using my hospital information do their best to sell me services. Is this even legal? The offer was for a free blood pressure monitor but monitoring of the blood pressure cuff was fifty to a hundred dollars a month. I am totally disgusted read more

R I got bit by a big black spider while while I was sleeping in my bed. It was a big hairy black spider about the size of a silver dollar and I've been suffering with the buff bite for about a year and a half. The wound has been bleeding and pushing out pus For a year and a half and a surgeon in Hartford. Health said he could take care of that with with a single time in the operating room. I had the operation done and it is still bleeding and pumping out pus after the operation so I think these surgeons and doctors are only looking for moneyso look out for yourself and don't get taken in by surgeons and doctors what they tell you because they're just like salesman today. I found out I had skin cancer on my face. I was sent to the oncology to have my radiation treatments for a month. Everyone was so kind and friendly. If I was feeling down I always left feeling better. If every I needed to go for more treatments (hopefully not) I would not hesitate to go here. read more

There simply isn't enough space in this little box to elaborate on everything that needs to be corrected. I had a family member brought in there and mental distress, and I went to the hospital and spoke with the clinician with an extensive list of documentation of this family members mental health and prior history. I had expressed my concerns about their well-being and the fact that myself and a younger child would not feel safe if they were to return home because of past and current Psychiatric behaviors/diagnonses. I was blatantly ignored, and the family member was told that I did not want them at home and turned them out of the hospital. It created such a downward spiral for them that I don't think they will ever recover. And for that, I will never forgive that psychiatrist or the hospital for the way things were handled. read more

Went in for gall bladder surgery. From start to finish all staff were super nice and friendly, guiding me through each step. My parents reported there was massages for those people waiting to be g home their patients. How nice is that. The facility was very warm and welcoming, even the sterile recovery room. Anything ordered by a doctor don't show up but all the nurses are looking into it but never get back to you. 7am breakfast was ordered (pancakes) came at 8. they were horrible ask for a muffin instead. Asked 3 more times for the muffin it showed up 12:15pm for my lunch. Asked again if I was going to get lunch and they thought my muffin was my lunch. Yes they are bad! Confused read more

Went to Griffin Emergency Department for a dislocation. The emergency department was very busy. Registration was fast friendly and efficient. The wait time to be seen was very long but I was kept in the loop and was able to get X-rays etc. prior to seeing the Physician. The Physician was exceptionally kind snd walked me through the procedure for the dislocation reduction. She did not hold back on how painful it would be. The reduction was done in one try and X-rays confirmed that the first attempt was successful. While the dislocation was very painful, the care I received was phenomenal. read more

I'm not even going to lie this is the worst hospital I ever came to and it's not just a one time thing deserves 0 stars. From having a kid here to my girlfriend's knee dislocating multiple times while here and no help. Even made me buy a knee brace from the gift store because they told us they don't have one. It was very easy to check in. My surgery started on time. the staff was extremely friendly An answered any of my questions. I would've liked my procedure explained to me in more detail but that was probably my fault because I didn't ask. But all in all it was a pleasant experience under the circumstances. I would definitely recommend Griffin Hospital. I also think Griffin Hospital is more personal than any other hospital in the surrounding towns. read more

do i really need to do this..? it's just exercise. then, at the outpatient rehabilitation center you are met with a welcoming, clean spa-like atmosphere with kind people who work patently with you to find the earliest appointments that work with your schedule. you see every therapist attentive to each of their patient's limitations. with respect, determination and knowledge, they impart individualized treatments to improve each patient's quality of life. their friendliness to all patients is a calming respite on the road to better health. the humanity they show is a lesson for us all. i was helped by three exceptional therapists, who noticed my symptoms and encouraged me and did research so i could pursue answers to my unusual conditions. the other patients are inspiring as they encourage each other with smiles and friendly reminders that we can do this necessary work with the guidance of the dedicated therapists. griffin's rehab programs are a true blessing and the knowledge and support from the therapists is an invaluable part of healing.. it's not just exercise! read more

So last night I get brought in by ambulance passing out couldn't even keep my eyes open get out in a room first left in the hallway on the stretcher use to that part from hospitals but once I got in the room just 1 pillow and 1 blanket no television in sight just the walls and what happens I came in for depression not eating and just giving up on life what happens I get thrown into a room like that I just wanted human compassion and someone to talk to I had to wait all night for crises team to arrive the next morning if hospitals plan on keeping people overnight they should have a better treatment plan instead of throwing you in a lonely little room for the whole night people should be. Even the nurse looked at me and said here is your Atiban this should keep you happy now I looked at him and was like I just wanted to talk to someone that's whole reason why I went to a hospital not to be drugged up because I'm crying missing mom when the first guy told me nope sorry pandemic no visitors but the second guy that came around said I really wouldn't see the issue with that if the person in your family has covid too. I always thought it was the nurse's job was to comfort the patient not throw em in a room and give em a pill to feel better this is why people go to hospitals to talk to someone and feel better not be told this should keep you feeling better now you know that is why mental health is in the toliet because hospitals have no care when it comes to someone's mental health just write down gave patient a pill so it puts more money in the hospitals pocket. read more

This is a superb hospital. Most staff are amazing. There are a few, very few that prevented the five star rating. The Emergency Department does an amazing job and considering the virus, kept everyone separated. The floor staff is phenomenal on all shifts. The meals are made to order and they do things beyond what's on the menu. I love their cheese omelet although their menu doesn't mention an omelet. Just ask. I am comparing the same back surgery of two close family members; one at Yale just 2-weeks prior and the other at Griffin Hospital. There is simply no comparison. I would advise anyone who is thinking about having surgery done at Griffin Hospital to run as fast as you can to a different hospital! I had major spinal surgery and while coming out of anesthesia had a violent reaction between the anesthesia and my anxiety and depression medication. I was totally unaware but supposedly I assaulted several security guards ( after having my spine fused) and Griffin Hospital had me arrested and even after the Anesthesia Doctor and my Orthopedic Surgeon wrote in their notes that it was because of a bad reaction from the medications still pursued the charges. What even makes this situation worse is that I have been told that I need another surgery to my spine because the one I was arrested for didn't take. But I am petrified because what happens if I have another bad reaction are they going to have me arrested again. I told my Primary DR. Marks who is also in the Griffin Hospital group that I have lost ALL CONFIDENCE in Doctors. read more

They say average wait in er is 25 minute this is a bold face lie. Everytime I come here it is at least 3 hours or more. Sat next to a man with bleeding head wound and bleeding wounds on both knees. He sat here for four before they saw him. I understand your busy but tell people at the door how long the wait might be so they have a option to go some where else. Dont come to this ER. read more

Horrible miserable staff that doesn't want to work there so they take it out on the patient. Also incompetent.

They are very slow in the ER on multiple occasions, One time my boyfriend was bleeding out the eye on the floor and very faint no one did anything there was also an pregnant lady crying because she was in so much pain & nothing was done. Multiple times I saw many staff employees on their phones yet there's so many people waiting. Every other hospital I've been to yes there's a wait but it's not very long and they get you in and out... Griffin is very slow. The only thing I recommend is giving birth here! read more
