Chuck made the administrative process easy and understandable. He took me through each phase of my dads funeral process, he made me very comfortable. He and the staff are caring, sympathetic, personable and they make you feel like family. Chuck was very well versed in all of the details. We had a 4 day window to get everything situated for my dads funeral and burial. Chuck got everything ready within 3 days! My dad was a Vietnam War Veteran, Chuck went the extra mile, with a tight schedule to coordinate for my dad to be buried at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. All of the paperwork was prepared and ready that was required for me to review and sign ahead of time, given the short window that he had to work with. He answered a ton of questions and always did it with respect and compassion. This was a very sad and stressful time for me and my family, but Chuck really came through. I was pleased with what I saw, as much as one can be pleased in such circumstances. The building is beautiful and has ramps for those that need them. There is ample parking but it is on a one way street parallel to Ohio River Boulevard. The room was arranged beautifully. Employees were available but were not obtrusive. They could sense when someone might need a little help inside the viewing but they didnt hover. Everything was perfect both days. We knew where to be and what to do, accompanying our friend to the church and later to the cemetery. Syka struck just the right balance of professionalism and compassion. It's a sad time. Not everyone is experienced with the rituals that may be part of the entire funeral experience. My friend had a beautiful funeral. But I am sad she is gone.

Our father's viewing was at this business. The ambience of this funeral home was very sparse and…read moreplain with ample parking. The interior gave a 90s vibe overall. I usually see peppermints and tissues strewn around most funeral home, but this place didn't seem to have them available. There is also no waiting/family/kitchen area on the main floor. Families usually need a place to have cookies, take a break, or drink coffee during sad times. When we arrived with coffee cakes for the family, the funeral director told us that there was no place for cakes here and that he would just shove them downstairs. I though that was a little weird. We also spent many hours making a video/collage that was to be shown on a television in the back because the funeral director told us over the phone that we couldn't make picture boards, but when we arrived at the funeral home, there were three huge picture boards. The funeral director then apparently tried to plug in our thumb drive and it suddenly didn't work with his system. He then just kept showing the same ten pictures sent in from a church on repeat. I thought this was also weird. The third thing that struck me odd about this funeral home was the rushed nature of the viewing and the lay-out. Have you ever seen people kneeling in front of a loved one at a viewing, only to be interrupted and tapped on the shoulder by a funeral director to "move along"? I never have. Our father also looked terrible for the viewing. It looked like they pulled all of his teeth out and suddenly his face was very narrow, which was quite unsettling to all, especially the children. I know that my wife's step-mother was in shock over a sudden death, and this may have just been the closest funeral home to her. I have never seen this type of unprofessional behavior in my life.

I looked up the family online and discovered that they moved from Switzerland and founded a company that makes train parts. The lawns are carefully manicured, and the trees are huge and beautiful. The cemetery is a great deal larger than I realized and I drove way back to explore the furthest reaches.

If I could give this funeral home no stars I would!!! They buried my son naked, not that it matters…read moremuch now, I guess but it did at that time and when ur paying a place 7k to handle things properly this should NOT have happened. I was also threatened with pictures of my brutally murdered son when I 6 months later (I was in shock at the time and just accepted I had to have a closed casket) later went in to see why I couldnt have had a open casket. My son was shot in the head and but had a his full face so Im sure they could have put a hat on him or something. I mean the reconstruct faces at some funeral homes and my sons face was fine. My mom and brother seen pics of him from the corner and they both said his face looked fine it only had a small scratch under his left eye that makeup could have hid easliy. When I asked the funeral director he said, "that kid had no back of his head!!", "you want me to show you??!" As he was looking through his folder to show me this horrendous picture of my son!!! I also wanted to see what suit they buried my son in since it was I couldnt see my son and didnt know the suit was never delivered until after my son was buried. The funeral director lied right to my mom and my face and had the nerve to say my mom brought his suit, but she did not and was not the one suppose to even bring it. Also it was made very clear this was a young man's funeral and there would be a lot of ppl attending and the funeral director was either running around yelling about the amount if ppl there or he was hitting on ppl and not only was he a easy 20yrs older then the ppl he was chasing around but he is a married man, and suppose to be a religious one too... It was so bad at one point he was literally stocking ppl and relentless hitting on them even on facebook. He is truly a sick man and I can not believe I trusted him in my weakest moments with my sons finally hours on this earth. Please I beg of you to not make the same mistake!!! I tried contacting the funeral home and its owners countless times, not that they could even fix anything, but I wanted them to know what kind of service my son had and for them to make sure it doesnt happen to somebody else, but I never even got 1 reply back, nothing. Im telling you please do no waste your $, or emotional well being and go with a funeral home that has respect for your loved ones weither they are alive or dead because Greens does not.
