If you are ever in the Fruili region and happen tp bump into Maniago (probably on your way to Udine or whilst driving through the Pedemontana), make sure to take a detour on to Montereale Valcellina.
This restaurant, offering some cute hotel rooms as well, is situated on to a road that (once upon a more fruitful time) led to the Maniago train station.
The owner of this restaurant is a great businessman, attentive to fine dining at a fairly decent price. When i lived in the area, i would often treat my daughter and i to this cute establishment. Their menu was divine and their tiramisù freshly made every other day.
The staff was international and, due to the high volume of American costumers, english was well understood and discretely spoken.
I would highly recommend to anyone in the area!
It doesn't reach a full 5 stars due to the remote location. You truly do need a car to go dine there. But the parking lot is ample and nice.
