It has been an experience moving from wilderness to Clearlake. I have to say I love the folks at Grocery Outlet. Most people are so kind and have a smile. It is refreshing. Ukiah is a good store; they carry so many items that I cannot find anywhere. "Molasses", sweet potato syrup...all the good stuff for baking. I do hope Clearlake will catch on to our need for more healthy items. I wish the produce could be fresher and not in plastic. However, nowadays it is what it is. Sometimes I must do returns. Most of my shopping is for "Fresh Organic Produce". Plastic is not on my list. I'm so very grateful for the checkout people and workers there. They work hard and are kind and friendly. I shop here for vegetables, mainly broccoli, they aren't the highest quality, but they have great prices. I have been shopping here for 5 years and this is the worst I have seen. The broccoli was old, this was the first time I didn't buy any and had to go to another store for my broccoli. I have really racist experiences in the Grocery Outlet Bargain Market stores. I use to shop at the grocery outlet in San Leandro CA ( on East 14 ST in San Leandro CA). The cashier started saying things to me about touching my boyfriend too. I started to feel uncomfortable waiting in line to buy the items I wanted in the store. I become upset one day after being sexually harassed for some time later. I told the cashier she was so obscene and offensive to me ( her language was sexually assaulting me). I think the cashier thought it was okay to talk to me about having sex with my boyfriend because California is a Democratic state and they are liberal sexually. I am a Christian American and don't want to talk about sex while in line to pay for my groceries. The cashier was so ignorant and abusive to me. She got several male employees to bully me out of the grocery outlet store and threaten to crack my skull open in the parking lot. That how the grocery outlet treats it's customers. They call assaulting Hispanic and African American customers like this. I witnessed the staff at the grocery outlet bullying African American customers.They got several male employees to almost crack her head open in the parking lot of the store. I walked in to another grocery outlet in Clearlake CA ( Olympic ST). I first went to the dollar store next door to grocery outlet and bought somethings. I put the things I bought in a black back pack on wheels and went to the grocery outlet next door. I put my backpack on wheels in the grocery outlet cart and started shopping. After a little bit the grocery outlet worker started looking me up and down.They started treating me like a criminal. The Philippino or Asian women said why didn't I put my backpack on wheels in the office. I was aggressively being bullied by the worker. I said I was going to leave. I went to the cashier to pay for the few things I put in my shopping cart. I asked the cashier if there was a sign somewhere in the store letting customers know that they wanted customers to put their bags in the office. I didn't see any signs. I am new to the community and only shopped in the store a few times. The Philippino or Asian women was so ignorant and abusive. Today, July 9th, 2020, California is in the midst of the worst of the COVID 19 infections thus far. Until today the Clearlake Grocery Outlet had been one of the best at enforcing masks for employees and customers. Sadly this is no longer the case. Today six Grocery Outlet employees were wearing cloth masks, BUT THEY WILL PULLED DOWN EXPOSING THEIR NOSES, therefore rending the masks useless. Three of the employees were stocking vegetables, cheese, or meats. This is just not acceptable in the conditions we are living in. It is not worth it to save a few dollars per bag to be exposed like this. I won't be back and suggest you avoid this place as well. read more

I waited 10 minutes in line while James tried to help someone with a 10$ watermelon (James the cashier) got to the front noticed Baja jerky was on sale so I grabbed two. Gave them both to James who was in such a rush to leave. The jerky came up as 3.99 which the sign said 99¢. He said nope can't do it.. I show him how there was a bunch that said 99¢ Kim the manager who came up said nope..so I took a picture then she gave me a hatred look threw one on the register and said take one that's all she can give me.. then James the cashier decided he was gonna tell me how Walmart was such trash! We come up here to our vacation house a few times a month. Recently we were appalled by the lack of PPE both customers and staff and the scruffy dirty appearance of the place. Most of the items purchased were inconsistent in quality and had past due expiration. Don't try to point that out to them or you'll get a mouthful. This alone feels like a Ghetto interaction and it'll stay with you for days. We will just continue to shop at another store in Williams on our way in which has very high standards and products. read more

I left my first ever review for the Grocery Outlet, and my review never showed up, not sure what happened. I enjoy shopping at here so much, that I am leaving another review. What I love: I love the prices but it is the employees that caused me to write this review. There was music playing in the store when I wrote my first review, employees were singing and being kind. They were not just being kind to the customers, but they were being kind to each other. They were happy to be at work and it showed. A smile speaks all the languages in the world. And at Grocery Outlet today the employees embodied this. I'm a pretty happy person, and I walked in happy, but I walked out happier. Truly a great atmosphere to shop in. This is unbelievably the best Grocery Outlet I have ever been to! Hands down!! The owners take pride in the business! The staff is exceptional.. especially ( Kelsey) who does the ordering!! They have the best make up and beauty products..that put Walmart to shame. Clearlake's store is much better than the one on Broadway in Oakland which had merchandise just strewn out in boxes on the floor in many parts of the store. I don't do all my shopping at Grocery Outlet but I do quite a bit. I like the prices and the surprisingly good import foods that are a special treat for us. It can be disappointing when something is no longer available there after we've become accustomed to it. I'm fine with the management and the staff. Cleanliness is reasonable. I do wish covid concerns were better addressed, but all-in-all, I do like the options. read more

I like shopping in this market because they have a huge car oof wine and chocolate. I bought some really good cheese the other day and they were if very good quality. This can be a great store with great prices... However it is poorly managed - many items are missing prices or miss-priced. Staff is not very helpful. A lot of foods are expired or even moldy/rotten. I love shopping at Grocery Outlet. Prices are low and the inventory is constantly changing. You never know what you will find. This Grocery Outlet has a great selection of meats, and cheeses. It's the cheapest place to purchase mayo, bacon and lunch meats. They normally stock whole Foster Farm's chickens for the same price as Safeway's sales price. The cashiers are friendly. If you have extra time to shop at two grocery stores, it's worth shopping at Grocery Outlet first, then get whatever they didn't have at another grocery store. I am such a cork dork that wine is about all I ever think about or talk about - it's a good thing it's what I do for a living! Wine pal of mine told me to go to Grocery Outlet and check out some of the amazing buys for "house wines". I resisted, as I couldn't imagine spending less than $15 or $20 for a daily drinker. Today I drug myself to Clearlake's Grocery Outlet because I needed to go to Safeway for something. I was taken aback at the handful of incredible wine values there. I had my phone with me and checked on vintages and facts on a few of the wines to make sure the wines were actually what they appeared to be (I've been in the wine biz for over 25 years so know to be careful for fraud) and they were! Of course there was a lot of swill there too, but for someone wine savvy there are real bargains (for daily drinkers - I didn't see anything fancy or special, but wasn't expecting to). The staff was VERY helpful. I asked a young man it the store had any empty case boxes and he volunteered to fetch me some. He was very friendly and when I thanked him he said; You're welcome (instead of No Problem). The checker was charming and helpful as was another checker who came over and pointed out that if I waited a day I could buy the wines at a deeper discount. The store was clean, as was the parking lot. Clear lake is slowly improving and this Grocery Outlet is a nice addition that I will revisit. read more

Today I visited Grocery Outlet in Clearlake CA, I was profiled by the manager, it was very offensive to me, my friend and other customers. She followed me around the store, making it obvious that she thought I was going to steal. When I stepped up to the register to pay for all my items in the cart along with the $29.00 shoes; the manager came running up and asked a cashier loudly if I had paid for those shoes. (I have to add I am a retired mortage lender of 30 years and look like it.) It was quite humiliating. Due to her angry and aggressive outburst, I was unable to complete paying for my items because I was clearly profiled and was ran out of the store by the managers discrimination. The manager was making such a sene for no reason that was present. She was not treating others so Badly, just my friend and I. She clearly embarrassed, humiliated and offended me . I happen to be of dark skin and was with the female friend of light skin. I only say this because I cannot think of any other reason that I would be treated with such distain, She clearly profiled me in a public and aggressive manner . I can no longer recommend Grocery Outlet while the owners support and appear to encourage this type of behavior. This used to be my preferred store for groceries, but of late, Carol, the owner, has crammed towers of products in most of the aisles. This created a nightmare of a shopping experience as customers, including me, were slowed by traffic jams, cart collisions, etc. The message this sends is that all Carol cares about is prioritizing greed over customer experience. I shopped in your store yesterday and felt that sudden urge. I had heard that the bathrooms were locked so asked a clerk if I needed a key. He said that I needed to notify a clerk and they would send someone to the bathroom to open it for me. I said," Well notify someone, I am on my way there." I was wheeling my cart back there when I heard the loudspeaker announce that a customer was enroute to the bathroom. As I approached, a young lady was there with a key. What wonderful service. I understand there are reasons to keep it locked. I don't shop there a lot as I live closer to Lakeport. Recently I visited the Clearlake grocery outlet with my boyfriend. I went to pick up a gallon of milk, and he went in to check on the status of a resume that he had turned in. He had met with the owner of the store as she called her self and she proceed to pick apart what he was wearing ( clean, pressed Dickies work shorts, and a clean, unstained tee-shirt, Tommy Hilfiger,appropriate given it is 1o4 degrees outside). She was very rude to him, and at the point, this was not a job interview, and then proceeded to follow him to me, and yell out that he was lying about her in the middle of the floor. I asked her to explain exactly what she said and exactly what she had meant by what she had said. Please keep in mind that we are still not at a job interview, Larry does not know their dress code, does not work for them, ect. Not only would she not clarify what she had said, she continued to pick apart his posture, his clothing, and how she offended her. Then she had the nerve to offer me a job, as I was dressed correctly in her opinion (I was wearing a black peasant skirt and shirt, with my hair off my neck), when I told her that she had not explained anything to me, and was being inappropriate by having this on the middle of the floor, she told us that she refused to accept the application and told us we were not welcome to continue shopping at this location. I was horrified! Frankly, I have never been treated so coarsely or humiliated like that in my life. I am really surprised about this, this is the first time I had been kicked out of anywhere. To add insult to injury, she led me out of the store, and when I asked her to cease that, she said that she was not following me (she was almost breathing down my neck). Is there anything that can be done to rectify this? I have always loved shopping at Grocery Outlet, and I am so disappointed. This sours my experience from shopping highly, and I do intend to let my friends and family know about how we were treated. Sadly, while I love Grocery Outlet, I would rather shop in one in Lakeport, Santa Rosa, or Ukiah. If they treat people applying here with that kind of discourtesy (as well as average shoppers), how do they treat the actual employees here? I would rather spend the gas to be treated with respect. The worst part of all this, is that I would like to support local business, but why would you shop at a store that treats locals that way? Or visitors? Could you imagine how many people would go out of their way to avoid our town if they knew they would be treated that way? That is so unprofessional. The only way that I would even consider shopping there again, is if I got a written, public apology from the owner. Avoid this store like the plague. read more

Have to disagree with Brandon, I found the store to be clean and orderly, I have shopped here since it opened and have never found "moldy, rotting food" The prices are reasonable and the store seems to be staffed by knowledgeable friendly people. Love it. I shop at several Grocery Outlets, and I really like the one in Clearlake. I've gotten furniture there, small appliances, and they have a decent selection of organic shelf items, all at excellent prices. But it's like TJ's -- you have to get something when you see it, otherwise it might never appear again. One thing I would like to see more of in Clearlake is organic produce.
