My parents died 6 months apart, and they treated me like family. When my mother died, Hector called me right away to arrange to pick her up. When they picked her up, he let me know she was in their care at their location. Summer was an incredible funeral director. Her professionalism was exceptional. She helped find a way to pay for my mother's funeral, and let me tell you the money was not her priority. She prepared both my parents' bodies. My mother looked so beautiful. She even painted her nails. My father looked very handsome. The quality of work was more than I ever expected. Summer created wonderful pictures of my mother and father with all their favorite hobbies. Hector even invited a friend of my parents to play and sing at my father's funeral. People with big hearts like Summer and Hector who really care about their quality of work and their clients, are sent from Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior, and I'm grateful for them. This post may be a little lengthy but I encourage you to take the time to read it, as it is my hope that no family experiences what we went through the past few days. Nanny went home to heaven on Sunday, July 7th. Nanny had all of her arrangements laid out in detail years prior to her passing. Scheid had a handful of simple but very important tasks to carry out for our family. They failed to do any one of those tasks to completion. Our family, especially my dad, was put under a great amount of stress in this time of mourning. The routine task of the funeral home placing a phone call to authorize the cemetery to open the ground for her burial had to be orchestrated by my father because Andrew Scheid simply "dropped the ball ." Half a dozen phone calls went ignored the last two days by Andrew Scheid. Never returned. Questions and concerns arose, the receptionist simply "could not find Andrew Scheid. " My mom and my sister saved many pictures of Nanny throughout the years. Special memories of her life that were to be played in the slideshow to remember and honor her. Scheid funeral home had these pictures Sunday night and expressed clear understanding that the slideshow was to be played during the hour viewing today. That did not happen. No slideshow was ever made. Conveniently, Andrew Scheid was nowhere to be found during the time of her viewing service and funeral. We will never get this day back and that is something that really hurts. Our family didn't deserve that. Nanny did not deserve that. Manor Township is a tightknit community. I truly hope that no one else experiences what we had to. At a time of loss, put your trust in another small town business. someone who is sincere, honest, and truly cares. They provided accurate estimates up front by first visiting the cemeteries and inspecting the broken tombstones. They used professional materials and methods for these repair and preservation efforts and provided digital photos of the finished repairs.
