This is our new "go to" place when meeting up with friends to walk in Vondelpark. I used to think it would be too touristy but the ambiance inside is great and the outside is beautiful. Ok so the food is average but honestly the views and vibe are perfect! Decided on an early lunch after working up a hunger walking through the park. What a great setting to eat lunch in! Ordered ourselves a drink and a ham and cheese sandwich! Not elegant but you don't need much when the setting is so perfect. We were not with kids but this place also has tables near a playground where the kids can run around and be easily in view. read more

This review is for drinks only, sitting outside. There's lovely seating by the water, on a deck-like side patio, away from the playground (which kids will enjoy). Good selection of Brouwer'ij 'tij beers, and .25 liter bottles of wine for 4.50 Euros. Self service for coffee, cake, sandwiches, beer, etc, but you do get real glasses. Lovely little self-service cafe situated in the middle of beautiful Vondelpark. The menu is not extensive but the surroundings more than make up for any lack in food variety. I went for a panini which was tasty. As well as the warm sandwiches and fries they also have pre-packed sarnies, and a good selection of cakes and ice creams. There is a good selection of soft drinks and beers. I can highly recommend the Heineken rose! There is ample seating, we chose to sit on the terrace next to the river. Maybe not ideal for those with children but there is a play area out the back to keep the little ones entertained. Take your purse to the loos - there's a 30c charge to pee! read more

Love this self serve restaurant situated almost in the center of the Vondelpark. The choices are plenty and there's something for everyone, including kids. The prices are alright. You just can't beat the location, though. It's always a pleasure looking at the world go by. They have those coin operated rides for kids, too. Indeed, there is always a lot of kids present here. Finding a nice waterfront table could be hard on nice days, but the wait is well worth it. Great spot! read more

Tourist trap, not high quality food and skip the coffee. But lovely view and surroundings.

A good place to rest a while and spend sometime within the Vondelpark. Not many options, a bit loud with lot of people inside and a long queue at the counter. read more

It's nothing special. It's just a self serve place to go for a drink, a snack or both and sit at a table in the shade or the sun alone or with friends in the park for a respite from walking, running, exercising the dog or cycling. read more

Great bean bags and plenty of places to seat outside. Unfortunately the wrapped sandwiches don't look too appetizing and the voice on the megaphone calling numbers is a conversation destroyer... Also, even if you just want drinks you have to queue with all the others who also want food. read more
