Whether you're bringing young kids to play, going for a walk, or just enjoying the peaceful surroundings, Kids Castle is a fantastic destination. I enjoy going here for walks and jogs. I forget how long of a trail it is for walking/ jogging/ bicycling purposes but either way, it is enjoyable. They have BBQ grills and picnic areas, benches, fields for baseball and soccer, a basketball court and some complimentary exercising (gym) equipment for anyone who would like to use it. The park has easy (multiple) access points and although, certain parking areas can get busy during nice weather days, you have other parking options nearby. There are multiple restroom areas in the park. Pets (dogs to be exact) are allowed for a walk. You get pretty views of sunsets from here over the small lake that's there as the area is scenic. I go here occasionally for either exercising or just to get my mind of things as I find this place relaxing and chill. Check this park out if you haven't been here before. It's worth the visit.

Rainbow Play Systems of Illinois in Vernon Hills and the Rainbow Corporate Office provided…read moreoutstanding service this year (2023) on our play set which we purchased in 2007. Our children and their friends used our 3 swing, 2 deck, slide and crows nest playset from ages 6 and 10 through current. The crows nest and decks fell into disrepair and needed replacement after a hard winter even after having re-stained the whole system pretty much annually. When I called the Vernon Hills store to ask about quoting how much it would cost in parts and labor to fix it, they directed me to file a warranty claim on the corporate website. After having done that and providing pictures of our set, the corporate office approved a warranty replacement of about half of our whole set, everything that needed to be fixed up. They shipped the parts to the Vernon Hills store for free and I had to pay only for installation of the new parts. The install was scheduled in advance and the team arrived on time, completed the work in under 4 hours, cleaned up everything and our set is pretty close to brand new! Rainbow stands behind their warranty, even after 16 years. The staff and management at the Vernon Hills store were very customer focused and the whole process was wonderful. One piece of advice to current and future owners, register your set and follow the warranty rules which will keep your set safe for play and also let you take advantage of repairs / replacements if you happen to need it.

We have paid and had the set assessed by one of their professionals yet rainbow is willing to replace only several pieces. Pieces are rotted, eaten by bees etc. It's been an ongoing, exhausting Email battle. We've had our own builder experts derm it unsafe and have it roped off from the kids. Everyone at rainbows keeps pushing us around. Stay clear of this operation and look at alternatives.

There are multiple walking trails that are perfect for getting some exercise or just enjoying a relaxing walk, and it's conveniently located near plenty of stores if you need to grab something before or after your visit. The park has something for everyone, including baseball fields, basketball courts, volleyball courts, soccer fields, and two playgrounds for kids. There's also a nice pavilion with restrooms, making it a great place for family gatherings, picnics, or spending the afternoon outside. Everything was clean and well maintained, and there was plenty of space to spread out without feeling crowded. Whether you're looking to play sports, go for a walk, or simply enjoy a nice park, Deerpath Park is a fantastic place to visit. I'll definitely be coming back.

There was also lots of seating available if you wanted to sit and watch your toddler play (especially helpful if you're pregnant and need a little break from standing!). But I was wrong! Both the weather and surroundings were beautiful; I heard they sprayed for insects beforehand as well. Many picture opportunities. Open enough to enjoy the rest of reserve and share the good vibes with passersby. Some bees came out but only when we were already packing up. Maybe more available parking spaces would've been nice. Other than that, it was a good time.
