Had a wonderful stay here.
Just came off 5 nights in London and were were in dire need to decompress. The Grosvenor fit the bill perfectly.
Perched on The Hoe, it's about 100 yards from some of the most spectacular scenery in the world, Plymouth harbor and an easy walk along the sea to the Barbican area.
The rooms are very comfortable (maybe a little old fashioned) with enough modern conveniences such as very fast wi-fi and flat screen TV - to make your in room time relaxing (we did not always find such good wi-fi in our travels). There are menu items (not a buffet) for breakie that are well cooked and served to a perfection in fine English fashion. I learned from the staff what eggs and soldiers are, for example. The hotel includes a small bar for that chapeau de soir after a long day of touring. The desk staff at any time of the day were charming and so helpful.
For what we wanted in a hotel (not really a B&B in my mind), we could not have done better. read more
