Georgia Restaurant in Prague is truly one of the highlights of this beautiful city. The food is absolutely delicious. As soon as you open the menu, your eyes start wandering because you want to try everything. The atmosphere is extraordinary--it feels as if you've walked into the home of your best friends. My wife and I travel a lot, and nowhere else have we ever been told, "Don't order too much, our portions are very large!" That says a lot about this place. They are not focused on selling you more food; they genuinely want you to enjoy the meal, the atmosphere, and the entire experience--and, of course, to come back again. I absolutely love this place. Was there with my family and a family friend this past weekend while visiting the city. Food absolutely delicious. I had lamb kebab, and the lamb khingal. We also got served tarragon and feijoa soda. Both absolutely delicious. Service was just as amazing as the food. The ambiance was great. December 29/2024: Dinner with my Al. This was deeply disappointing. We came here with such high hopes. The aroma from the restaurant was intoxicating! The ambiance was superb. They even had a live singer who was excellent! This all crumbled when the food began to arrive. It was next to tasteless. The appetizers ($235.00 CZK $14.50 CDN) was bland & virtually without taste at all. Our server Julia was quick enough to recognize that we weren't enjoying the food & graciously swapped out our appetizer but the replacement was just as bad. In her defence, she did make a partial deduction from the bill. My main was the Chicken/mushroom/potato dish ($415.00 CZK or $27.00 Cdn) It was ok but only had a total of 4 pieces of WAY over cooked chicken and about 2/3 was potatoes. I can say with confidence that after eating at HUNDREDS of restaurants, this was at the bottom for flavour. It's a not-do from my side. read more

In general Georgian restaurants outside of Georgia have mediocre quality, often destroying the beauty of Georgian food. We visited Gruzie in Prague and the above was verified100%. We ordered a chicken tapaka, it didn't have a hint of what it should be. No flavor which this dish is famous for. In addition it was overcooked and tasted so dry that we left a part of the dish untouched. Left frustrated. Grusie restaurant has nice interior but the cousins is not only about interior but food should place a major role. Would not recommend this place if you want experience the taste of Georgian food. read more

Wow! Food was great! Been in Europe for six days (from the states) and visited two Michelin restaurants during my time so far. This is probably my favorite meal during my stay in Europe so far! The restaurant itself has a lot of character and is very interesting. We split a plate and some bread so we could save some room for dessert. The dishes we had were excellent and I my stomach is more than satisfied! Prague is a beautiful city with a lot of great food, but this will more than likely be my favorite meal here! read more

I like the interior, you walk down and the interior looks awesome. The place is not lit brightly, so be careful as you walk around. We got the Qotnit (beans oup with picked veggies), Chacapuri, Ostri and Georgian sausage. The food was decent, however the sausage was super dry and hard to eat, thus this knocked it down to 3 stars. The Chacapuri was our favorite, could have three of these :) The Georgian beer was good, definitely recommend that you try it, it only comes in a bottle. Well, Gruzie was a perfect restaurant experience prior to attending the classical music concert at Obecni Dum. I discovered that pickled herring is now one of my favorite things. I would love to duplicate this at home with perhaps salmon. Yum. My husband and I ordered two of the stews and both were delicious and hearty. I order the lamb goulash and my husband ordered the chicken stew with potatoes and mushrooms. Both stews were delicous but we both thought the chicken could have been moister. I found the goulash to be perfectly seasoned. They serve great Georgian wine and we bought a delicious red to accompany our meal. The grotto like atmosphere was very nice and romantic. I came here with my sister while we visited the city, and we had an amazing experience. The layout of the restaurant includes a cellar type area that was slightly cooler than the restaurant (nice in summer!). Our server was very friendly and answered all our questions about the menu. I found this after googling unique restaurants on Yelp and was not disappointed!!! Absolutely a gem! Service, ambience, and food were excellent! We left soo full after a nice leisure dinner with a dj playing music all night. We were in a back room so the noise level was perfect, I could see it being a little loud if you were seated close to him. The restaurant has plenty of small rooms on multiple levels. The menu has lots of choices with multi cultural descriptions and pictures to help guide you what to order. What a fabulous restaurant. I had never tried Georgian cuisine before and it is delicious. The ambiance in this restaurant is incredible, so cozy and welcoming. I can only imagine how amazing it is in the winter months. We started with three dishes for two of us and our sever suggested that we wait to order any more because that would likely be sufficient, she was correct. The food was delicious and came out super hot. The carrot and pumpkin soup was spectacular as was the cheese bread and salad with ground walnuts (think a combination of a fatoosh and a tabouli). Our server made excellent suggestions for wine and allowed us to sample before committing to a glass. I found this restaurant on Yelp and after seeing all the glowing reviews, we had to try it. It was not completely filled with tourists, in fact, the other tables around us seemed to all be locals, another good sign in my estimation. Wow, I never expected to find a Georgian restaurant in Prague... and to much of my surprise, the culinary experts that work at this establishment make some really amazing Georgian food. I'm quite familar with Georgian food and restaurants as I have been to many in NYC; and it's just as good, if not even better than the places I've been to in NYC. This place is absolutely phenomenal. First off, the ambiance - the upstairs has heavy wooden beams & furniture, draped with furs & skins. It's just right to put you in the mood for some hearty Georgian food. The downstairs, meanwhile, is a long vaulted stone room with semicircular ceiling. It felt like eating dinner in a wine cellar, in the best of ways. Very medieval, very romantic. When we visited, there was a wedding going on upstairs, and we had the downstairs mostly to ourselves. The waitstaff was friendly, pleasant, and attentive, helping us choose food & drink and chattign pleasantly. But of course, the most important thing is the food! Sadly, I am vegetarian these days out of necessity, so I'm used to ending up with a salad, especially in Prague ... but not here. We started with the Georgian eggplant & walnut rolls, a dish which was the unexpected star of the show. It's absolutely one of the best things I've ever eaten, and I could have eaten another 5 happily. I went back to our AirB&B after the meal, googled a recipe, and immediately started texting it to all my friends in the states. We're making this for Christmas and Thanksgiving from here on out. And hey - it's vegan! Then, for our main, we shared Soko Kecze, a dish of large mushrooms swimming in a fantastic melted cheese, and Chačapuri Adžaruli, the classic Georgian egg-cheese-butter filled bread boat. Both were fantastic, and we found ourselves stuffed full of cheese and happy in short order. I don't drink alcohol, but they've got a great drink menu as well! My companion had a snifter of Georgian Brandy, and was very impressed, while I was pleased to see that their non-alcoholic drink menu had been prepared with the same skill and care as their vegetarian selections. We leave Prague in just a few days, but we're going to try to find time to visit again before we go. It's just that good. OH! AND, it's within easy walking distance of Old Town without being too touristy. I would happily recommend this place to any of my friends visiting Prague, and it's making me consider visiting Georgia. This was the most amazing food I've ever had! First time trying Georgian Cuisine. My boyfriend insisted we go and I was in heaven the entire time. I ordered by phone for carry out. I placed a large order. The tolma(stuffed grape leaves) were hard to chew, not very good flavor. The breads were okay, the lobi okay. I would skip the hirlenky. I thought the barbecued chicken cubes were very tasty as was the Borst soup. And the baklava also okay. The prices were a bit high with larger portions than you can eat. The biggest let down was the service I received in the restaurant. One the waitresses literally sneered at me when I spoke English.... The woman who I spoke to on the phone was pleasant but the rest of the staff made my short stay waiting very uncomfortable. Still not sure why. Bad day? One of the most amazing anesthetics of any restaurant I've been to. Imagine something out of beowulf, a cellar inn, wood fire cooking meet. So cozy. The food was amazing as well! I had the pork cubes with sauce with a reasonably priced pint of beer and it was delicious, though I I'm retrospect would have preferred the dumplings that my friend got (also amazing but about half the price).
