GSP is a great little airport. It's easy to get in and out, which makes traveling so much less stressful. The TSA folks are super friendly and efficient -- security was quick and painless. There's an adequate selection of food options for a regional airport, and I especially like the second-floor area for Delta Air Lines flights from Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport to Atlanta. It's comfortable and a nice spot to wait before boarding. Overall, a smooth and pleasant airport experience. Would definitely fly through here again. Cheers! read more

I stayed in South Carolina for 1 week for my brother's wedding. I've flown out of this airport twice on 1/25/20 (my first visit) and 2/2/20 (2nd visit). This is a medium sized airport. I thought this was a really nice airport. It was a beautiful drive in and I liked the clean and simple single terminal. Got to my gate fast (there was no one at the airport). Even with off and on pouring rain, we took off (turbulence was kinda crazy for the first 15 min). Ended up getting to my destination 50 min early, I kid you not. Great small airport that serves over 500k people around Greenville county and many tech firms in the area. Only two gate areas, A and B and small number of gates and airlines. So it may be hard to find a good flight time and options. But you are rewarded with easy in/out and comfortably :-) Amenities included Chik-Fil-A, Wolfgang Puck restaurants (right outside of security), a great small Priority Pass lounge (right past the local museum) in the B terminal direction. In general this feels like an upscale small airport compared to many others :-) Security options even include Clear, which must be due to large number of local business travelers :-) read more

Do not use the valet parking service! They will damage your car! I returned from a trip yesterday and immediately noticed a tire had marks, possibly from hitting a curb. I notified the attendant. he said it was no big deal because he didn't see any body damage but that he would take a photo to document it. He turned away from me (I assumed he was going to the booth to get a phone/tablet) so I loaded my bags into the car. When I turned back around, he was gone. I asked another employee where he went and if he took the picture and the other guy told me that he left to get another car. Apparently the policy is that if they damage your car they will literally run away to avoid taking any responsibility. read more

Tyce was rude held us up at the check in gate for one of the people traveling with us due to her incompetence and not fully understanding the process of processing our visas kept explaining how she does her job and how someone else that processed our visas did there's. We eventually got done with the process and was on our way but don't be combative when someone is trying to explain something to you. It's okay to be wrong. This is the typical medium-sized, small airport... The type that most single level/basic airports are changing into, except that this one has completed it's upgrade/renovation. The layout is great, very easy to navigate and there are nice places to grab a bite inside too, including a Wolfgang joint! This is the first small airport I've seen that actually has Clear also! Of course they have PreCheck too. I love smaller airports as they're very walkable and that's what I prefer. Last thing I want to deal with are buses or trains to take once I get to the airport! This is such a wonderful small airport. I love the outdoor courtyard so you can get fresh air while waiting for your flight, as well as the artwork throughout the airport. My only two criticisms are: the lack of bathrooms (there's always a line for the women's bathroom on the second floor), and the lack of restaurants, including two that basically have the same menu. What a fantastic little airport, truly. I've been in many and I have never seen an outdoor courtyard like this! It was so enjoyable to get some fresh air and stretch my legs while waiting for the plane (which was delayed in due to storms). I'm sure the utility of the courtyard is much more limited in summer when this area would be over 100F between the ambient temps, direct sun, humidity, concrete island effect and nearby plane exhaust. There's I think 2 sit down restaurants, no club/lounge and not all that much seating near the gates (definitely not enough for every person on a flight), so if there is a delay and it gets crowded inside TSA there aren't many places to escape. OnceI came inside from the courtyard to keep tabs on my flight, I ended up finding a window next to an outlet where I could work (the window well is about 18" deep and close to the floor). Southwest is of course just chaos but that's all on them, not at all GSP's fault. There has been significant construction in the exterior roadways and this past time the kiss and ride/dropoff/pickup area was relocated without much signage, so leave yourself lots of time and hope your driver knows their way around the airport and the construction. read more

The airport is nice. It is NOT designed for convenience of business travelers/tourists and their families. Walking from the gate to baggage claim is at the opposite end of the airport. Then if you rent a car you have to walk about a quarter of a mile (in the rain/cold/heat) to the opposite end of baggage claim to get your car including walking past the exit and entrance car rental ramps. (Remember you have to return the car and walk quarter of a mile back to the airport). There is a reason why a majority of car rental locations are right next or across from baggage claims. The architect and airport approval board (idiots) that designed/approved this obviously never considered travelers with babies and heavy baggage or with walkers and canes. What was the goal...to make it as difficult as possible for the travelers/tourists who are paying for rental cars to be penalized? Evidently it's more important to have a big park and fountain right in the middle than to accommodate business travelers/tourists with families coming to your city. I hope they read this review and maybe reconsider going anywhere else.. read more

I love little things....mini size Tabasco bottles, dental floss you get for free at your annual dental check up and airports! Greenville Spartanburg airport is so little but so nice. Getting in and out was a breeze and we just walked outside and boom, our ride was there. Not sure if the pleasant experience was because we visited here in November vs peak season (does this area have that??) Regardless, I have family in the area and may just start visiting more due to the ease of getting in and out. read more

It is a small airport so don't expect the ticket counters to be manned at all times. They will only open up 2 hours before your flight so keep that mind. I flew Silver and they were having computer issues 2 hours before. I was first in line and the workers tried hiding behind the signs while working on the computers as if I couldn't see them. One of the workers from the tarmac was up there and he addressed the growing line. Sad part here is that they have absolutely ZERO contingency plans for an issue like that. read more

I've been through this airport more than 15 time in 2023/24. It's very clean, security has never taken more than 3 minutes, they just installed the new, rounded scanners, and (even with the current construction in the pick-up drop-off area) it is very easy to get around. About 20% of the time luggage takes a while to come out, but I've never waited more than 23 min. Also, they have a nice Amex Lounge, nursing room, and massage chairs overlooking the runway. There's no Starbucks, but is a Duncan doughnuts, a Chick-fil-A, candy store, Wolfgang Puck restaurant and a bar and grill. Car rental drop-off is very easy and super close. Rental pickup can take a minute. read more

The GSP International Airport is the small airport that could. I like that there are hardly long lines to fly here. I love that it's an international airport, although limited to a few direct international destinations, but you can get to Germany (thanks to BMW). As of July 2022, GSP now has CLEAR!!!??!!!!! So it's possible to go faster through security. The airport and restrooms are always immaculate. It's best to fly in the mornings IMO. If you fly in the afternoons some, not all, of the security agents can be quite curt with people. Lol read more

The funniest thing I noticed is the announcement for the time on the intercom sounds like the intercom on the GREASE movie at the highschool is the same and it made me laugh. This is quite a nice airport. Sort of "tucked away" from the main roads, as you approach you drive down a nice little windy wooded area before coming upon it. The airport is relatively compact compared to many others and this makes it quite easy to get around and find your gate once you've gone through the ticketing/boarding pass/TSA routine. Shopping and food choices are a bit limited but you will find some of the usual offerings, so you should be able to grab something to hold you over before your flight should you need. The terminal is clean and as comfortable as needed for an airport. No complaints there. I can't speak to the parking situation, as others have, since we've always just rented a vehicle while in the area. Rental is very conveniently located within the garage. Pick-up and drop off are pretty seamless so we have never had any issues. Greenville-Spartanburg International does a fine job in doing what good airports need to do: get you to where you're going. It's wild to me how much this airport has changed since I was a kid. I might be dating myself but I remember pre-911 when we were able to walk my dad to the gate or park out front and go inside and greet him. They have moved the security gates so now you have access to the whole airport once you go thru security and have added some cool food offerings although it's limited enough that I recommend eating before your flight unless you're really into fast food. I love having the option of going out to sit in the garden while you wait. It's nice to see lil ole Greenville growing up! read more

GSP Parking will charge you for an additional day if your flight is 2 hours delayed. I called to complain and they hung up on me. If you choose to reserve parking, select an exit time that is in 24 hour increments after the entrance time to give you the maximum flexibility for a delay. I paid for 4 days, but was charged an extra day after parking for 3 days and 12 hours. I estimated that I would need 3 days and 10 hours, but had a 2 hour delayed flight, so I was charged for a fifth day. Unbelievable! read more

Clean, cute, and easy to navigate. SO SMALL, but accomplishes what it needs to do very well. I was especially impressed with the landscaping and grounds as you drive in, and the attention to detail on art and creativity in the surrounding spaces. I think the cleanliness helps stand this airport apart too, however, it's a lot easier to keep an airport with only 15ish gates clean versus the giant airports with multiple terminals and hundreds of gates. TSA has always been quick for me and the staff has always been nice, though again, that is likely easier in a smaller airport. They could afford to have another restaurant open as your only options are fast food or unhealthy snacks, but I don't think people are flying into GSP for major layovers between many flights. So I see why it isn't a priority. All in all, I prefer to fly out of GSP over Atlanta or Charlotte (which are both only 1-2 hours away) even when flight costs are lower in those bigger cities because the parking is easier, the airport is easier to navigate, and you don't get the same feelings of high-stress here as you do in other airports. read more

I never knew Greenville had an airport. A regional one but still never a clue. I only realized it when researching places to fly into that's closest to Anderson, SC. I initially booked my incoming arrival to Greenville GSP airport thru United Airlines, however with a friend willing to drive me to Greenville from Charlotte CLT, I ended up changing my ticket via airline agent without penalty and got flight credit in the process. And so, I finally got to see GSP airport in the flesh when I departed the area to Kansas City on a brisk and quiet Monday late October 2022 morning. The airport is obviously small, boasting at most 12-15 gates, it's small enough to get thru TSA security pretty quickly but large enough to walk a few to get to your gate of departure. There are a couple of kiosks for food, drinks, and other things you may need for your travels. I flew Southwest out of GSP airport that October 2022 morning and it was fairly quick and painless, especially if you are TSA Pre-Check. Heheh. The airport terminal itself boasts restrooms for your convenience, as well as real time departure and arrival info. It's worth noting that Greenville is the midpoint of Atlanta ATL and Charlotte-Douglas CLT. Im thankful that there is a middle ground airport so there is no long road trip that I didn't have to take, unless it's with a friend. The overall experience at the Greenville SC regional airport was quite nice. Even the TSA experience was handled quite well and got into the secured gate area without too much drama. Probably under 10 minutes. It also helps if you had a super early departure in the morning like how I did. Early wake up call for the flight but at least you get the rest of the day to Enjoy wherever your final destination is. On this trip, it was to Kansas City via Atlanta. Not sure why they call this airport an international airport since it's small enough to not have that designation. It boasts less than 15 gates and you can physically walk the terminal within 35 minutes at a brisk pace. Probably and possibly for marketing purposes I suppose, since we have CLT in the north and ATL in the south of GSP airport. It does feel like a regional airport though. Best bet would be to come here for your flight after you've had breakfast outside the airport since the terminal doesn't really have anything substantial, unless you like coffee and quick breakfast sides to take with you on your flight out of GSP. The airport has restrooms and a pretty good WiFi system, as well as being clean and well managed by the local airport authority. GSP airport is one to fly into if you have business in the area. Otherwise, CLT, ATL, and others in the area can fit your needs as well. The Greenville-Spartanburg international airport is located in between the cities of Greenville and Spartanburg South Carolina. The airport itself doesn't charge admission fees, but many of the merchants here before and after TSA security accepts major credit cards for purchases. Obviously, if you were traveling, you'd have access to many areas of the airport terminal including the restaurants and the restrooms. Not sure about the parking situation, but certainly, with airports, they generally have a large or generous parking areas for anyone and everyone who wishes to grab parking to wait for loved ones arriving on a flight or for travelers who wish to park there for the duration of their traveling. For the most part though, the enjoyment of getting thru TSA security in under 10 minutes was practically amazing and could do this all over again, especially when it's a small regional airport. Not too keen on the early wake up call, but it is what it is. Take the good with the bad. Make sure there's airport shuttle service from your hotel, or you'd be taking Uber / Lyft. Or if you are, dropping off that rental car before heading to the airport terminal. If your travels come thru the Greenville-Spartanburg regional airport, have a great time here.
