The outdoor courtyard area hosts 2 top tier restaurants with greet patios (Indaco and O-Ku), with an outdoor lounge and grass area for games and hangouts. The kicker: free breakfast. But not your average plain buffet style you'd find at a Hampton or similar. You order off of their full menu, which was a restaurant we'd pay and eat at even if we weren't staying here. My king suite was very spacious and I loved being on the 8th floor. The bed was comfy as well as the pillows. Unfortunately, I didn't get to attend breakfast. I had everything I needed in this suite. My only complaint would be the noisy HVAC system. It was soooo loud thought it was gonna explode. Thankfully it didn't! I utilized the hotel garage parking for $18 since street parking was limited and dicey. This hotel is beautifully decorated and all of the staff encountered were pleasant. The two issues I had were the weed smoking inside somw of the rooms as we passed, and I thought they could do better at cleaning the pool. The first room smelled awful -- like something died and someone just sprayed air freshener on top of it. I asked to switch rooms. The second room had thick dust everywhere, mold inside the AC, and mold creeping along the corners of the floor. I requested another room, but instead of helping, they told me maintenance would "check it out tomorrow." Spoiler alert -- no one ever showed up. When I followed up, they told me to grab Windex and disinfecting wipes from the gym and clean it myself. I'm sorry, but I paid for a hotel stay, not to clock in as housekeeping. While cleaning just to survive the stay, I found mold under the kitchen sink, chipped paint, mold in the bathroom, and even mold spots on some of the furniture. The kitchen area looked beat-up and dirty, nothing like the pretty photos online. Whoever took those pictures deserves an award, because the reality is straight-up catfish. I would've checked out sooner, but I was traveling for work with a ton of bags and no easy way to move everything again. Still, no one ever offered another room or a real solution. The staff acted like it wasn't a big deal. To make things worse, when I called customer service afterward, the only "resolution" they offered was a measly 10,000 points -- which equals about $50. That's insulting considering I spent over $500 to sleep in filth and breathe in mold. This hotel used to be decent, but now it's completely gone downhill. Between the odor, the dirt, the mold, and the lazy management, it's clear no one cares about guest comfort anymore. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else -- this place isn't worth your health or your money. In response to the owner that keeps denying this an wanting me to delete the review . Oh don't worry, it's your hotel. Just to clarify - the "kitchen" area I mentioned was actually a wet bar setup inside the suite (sink, counter, mini fridge). Not all Courtyards are created equal and I've had some not so great experiences (Montgomery, AL) but the vast majority are satisfactory given the usual price in the 100-150 dollar range (which I guess goes up depending on demand). But this Courtyard in Greenville now stands out as exceptional. Check-in was quick and friendly (and yes, there was someone at reception. That's not always the case at Courtyards, especially after 10pm). Our room was spotless and the temperature, just right. It was unseasonably warm out so we had a little AC going to keep it cool when sleeping. Bed and linens were comfortable, affording a great night's sleep and our room was quiet. The hallways did not smell of weed either (flashback again to Montgomery). Although I didn't use the gym, I went in to refill my water bottle and it looked like a decent space to get in a good workout. I also saw an outdoor pool. The lobby area is large and was decorated with big Christmas trees. It seemed like a decent place to spend time if you want to get out of the room for a bit when on a work trip or something. Guest warning: please check your reservations and bank statements carefully…read more Based on my experience at this hotel, I strongly recommend that anyone who has cancelled a reservation verify that the cancellation actually remained cancelled and that no charges were subsequently placed on their account. I became concerned after discovering that a cancelled reservation had apparently been reinstated. I was told that the reservation had been reinstated following a phone call. I did not make that call. If you have experienced something similar, keep your cancellation confirmation, emails, screenshots, and phone records. Those records will be helpful if you need to dispute an unauthorized charge with your bank or credit-card company. If you believe a reservation was reinstated or charged without your authorization, document everything and report it directly to Marriott Corporate and your financial institution. They helped me get a room on the second to highest level. I always ask for high up for the sound levels and views. It was greatly appreciated to get this hookup! Room first impressions: funky shaped, spacious, lots of natural light. Lots of outlet options next to bed and desk. I loved the chaise lounge style couch that was in the room! The large TV can also adjust to different angles. Bathroom: an actual tub with a small hair dryer. The tub drained VERY slowly. After a bath, it took about 10 minutes to drain. If you only run the shower it drains enough because the shower head water pressure is very low. There is also only one hook to hang a large towel. If you use multiple towels or are 2 people in a king corner room, you will need to ask for more hangers to find a way to hang them. Room over night: luckily I did not have problems with sound because I either had no neighbors some nights or quiet ones the other nights. Unfortunately they've given up on mini fridges and went with the cooler. The hotel pool is OUTSIDE which means it closes for seasonal changes. I never saw that listed anywhere. This closure was unfortunate considering it was in the 80s in November while I was here! There is lots of lobby seating with a small bar in the center.
