So I guess I've been on a Mexican food kick the past few weeks, unintentionally. I came here for a friend's birthday dinner and they had a nice private area upstairs for us to eat and sit altogether. We had a large party. It was my first time coming all the way out here and I have to say, this is one of the best Mexican food restaurants (if not the best) I've ever been to in the area. I ordered the Beef Chimichangas and it was absolutely delicious. Huge portion sizes, every side was tasty, and the vegetables tasted fresh too. The dish overall was flavorful and savory. The sides were wonderful, crunchy, and fresh. I can't complain really. The menu prices were affordable, which I really liked. And they were generous with the sauce on top! Service was great, they did a pretty good job taking care of us since we had a huge party of people for the birthday. They were attentive, helpful, and funny. I'm so happy to say that I wasn't let down or disappointed in the slightest. I'm not sure when I'll be back around Dalton, but I would definitely come here because I know I'll be eating good. We've been coming here for a while now and genuinely enjoy the food, which is why this review is disappointing to write. Unfortunately, for the third time, our to-go order has been incorrect. We order the exact same items every visit, so there really shouldn't be confusion. The bigger issue is that we live quite a distance away, so discovering the mistake once we're home means either driving all the way back or just settling for food that was made incorrectly. That's frustrating and inconvenient. What made this most recent experience more disappointing was being told by the manager/owner that we should check the food before leaving. While I understand mistakes happen, customers shouldn't be responsible for quality control--especially when the bags are double-knotted shut, making it clear they expect them to stay sealed until we get home. It feels unreasonable to ask customers to untie bags in the parking lot to ensure accuracy. We truly like the food and want to keep supporting this restaurant, but after three incorrect to-go orders, it's becoming hard to justify the drive. We hope the team can take extra care in checking orders before sending them out so future customers--and loyal ones like us--don't continue having this experience. read more

While visiting family in the area, we stopped by here for dinner. The service was outstanding. I ordered the carne asada which was incredibly tender. It came on a bed of sautéed onions and topped with grilled green onions which took it over the top. I also ordered the pomegranate margarita which did NOT disappoint. I've found a lot of places give mostly mixer with a splash of tequila. Not the case here! I can't wait to visit again and try something else! read more

Been to Dalton 3 times in past yr, never been to Guadalajara.. idiot! I sits down after long day, immediately hooked up w piping hot complimentary chips and truly homemade Fresh salsa. Place/interior is super clean and casual, playing mellow Spanish? tunes in the calm pleasant background. Waitstaff are very friendly, fast, vicious, and helpful; most speak Spanish only , cool :) Gots checked on more than couple times by waiters And floor Mgr :) She went and gots me a homemade sauce when asked for an additional fiery hot sauce to kick it up :) The Shrimp chimichangas nailed it; Fresh , Authentic, and delivered steaming hot right from oven. Totally get that homestyle, authentic vibe from Guadalajara. Will def be back to the Dalton underbelly in the next couple months to try the Burrito Caliente or another 'fancy' shrimp dish. read more

Great service and good food! Margaritas taste like they are from a mix, but they were still good. Had a variety of drink sizes.

A group of my friends came by for a late lunch. The place was pretty busy at 3PM on a Saturday. But it's a big establishment so there was no wait and we were seated at a large and comfortable table. Service was good, and the portions were generous, and I enjoyed the flavors. The décor is bright and cheery and welcoming, and of the few downtown places in Dalton I've tried, this far has been my favorite. Our group likes Mexican, so I'm fairly certain we'll be back. read more

There are sooo many Mexican restaurants to choose from in Dalton. This is the one that stuck out to us the most and we like it enough to choose it over and over. The prices are so affordable and you get huge portions. Even after adding the tip, it is completely possible to spend $10 or less and walk away full with left overs. read more

I have seen many postings about Birria Tacos, so when I saw them on the menu, I knew it was for me... Excellent choice... totally different from any taco I have ever eaten... seems the tortillas are grilled with a dose of the cooking juices of the meat... that permeates the tortillas... then stuffed with cheese and very tender stewed beef. Topped with onions and cilantro and served with a generous cup of dipping sauce. It was incredible. Cost about 11 bucks and change for three tacos. Trust me worth it and then some. Of course, I had a house margarita which was terrific... no weak drinks here... overall five stars all the way... next visit... put this on your list. read more

Stopped in for a late lunch and let me tell ya, what I had was amazing. It's #40 on the menu. Chicken smothered with chorizo and cheese with a side of more stuff (see pic). Great service as well. I went to this restaurant on the evening of Sept 7 and ordered a popular menu item suggested by the waitress. I ordered the Paella Mexicana -#63 - the combo chicken and shrimp. I was in the hospital within 16 hours. The hospital asked what I ate. I could barely talk but told them it was at this restaurant. I had not eaten for 10 hours before this meal. The hospital diagnosed me with the Norovirus and said I got it from the food I ate. I have never had nausea/pain like this before. This wasn't a typical food bug. I literally thought I was going to die. I can't explain the nausea n pain I encountered over the next 8 hours. I will never come back to this restaurant!!!! read more

Very disappointed because this was our go to restaurant. The service was horrible the type of service that makes you wonder how it can remain in business. We waited nearly an hour for our dinner to come out. We saw our waitress twice: once when we got our drinks and next when we got our order. Never got a refill on drinks, never even came by to check on whether we needed anything. We had a discussion and began taking bets on whether she went on break, quit, or was fired. When we got our food it was cold (it had for sure been sitting for a while waiting on our nonexistent waitress to show up), and it was wrong. We were missing plates and silverware also. When we let her know the issues we were met with attitude and excuses, not sorry let me fix that for you. We asked for a manager and waited for nearly 10 minutes. In between that time none of the orders were fixed, heated up, and still no refills. The manager came by finally and we had more excuses and attitude. You may expect some attitude from the wait staff, but certainly not from management. I get it businesses are struggling to get good, competent help. That is why I try to be patient but this experience was intolerable. Rule of thumb: whether or not you agree with the saying the customer is always right as a business you must at least pretend this is true if you want to keep loyal customers. We were loyal customers usually 6-7 people in our party. We will NOT be back as painful as that may be because as I said we have always had a good experience here. A side note: We were not ordering alcohol, which I am sure made a difference in the way we were being treated. Everyone with alcohol at the table were being refilled quite frequently. read more

When here to eat for dinner with my girlfriend on a Tuesday recently. Food was excellent I had beef enchiladas with beans and rice. The enchiladas were perfectly cooked and the rice was the best I've had in a while perfectly seasoned and not dried out like so many serve. The owner came by and asked how we were being served. The servers were very attentive to our needs. Never out of chips and salsa and full glasses. Recommend if you are looking to eat texmex. So time for the follow up review. Just had the Pechuga chicken and shrimp, while my girlfriend had the carne asada. Both dishes were entirely huge. Have meals for two more days. Lol.
