I tried this nail salon for the first time because it was recommended to me. I got there at 9:30 am and didn't leave until 2:50pm, long wait! I visited this spot for the first time Monday afternoon. I used to go to another nail salon on East Tremont but after a very bad experience last year (the lady was filing my natural nail down with an electric file til it was paper thin and about three weeks into the last acrylic set she did for me, I had my natural nail partially torn off with the tip in an accident :/), I gave my nails 5 months to recover and did my research. This place had good reviews and came personally recommended, so I took my chances. I was seen within an hour or so because there were only so many workers in early Monday and Jimmy had a whole queue of people waiting just for him. It's a small place but very neat and clean and I was able to wait inside (apparently on the weekends people have to wait outside cus it's so crowded). A nice lady named Dana helped me. I was a little sketched out at first when she took out the electric nail file but after some reassuring I let her do it her way and I'm very happy I did. My natural nails are thin, hence my fear of the electric file, but she used it *very* lightly on my nail tip to attach the fake nail and then again on my natural nail ever so lightly before the actual acrylic. I was so relieved she didn't over do it as so many nail techs do. Dana was also very helpful in assisting me in finding the shade I wanted. I originally wanted a deep dark blood red and she tried the color they did have on me out and it wasn't dark enough for my liking, so she kindly removed it and helped me pick out a shade I ended up loving. The nails themselves are a tinnny bit on the chunky side, but I actually prefer it this way as I wanted a dramatic nail in the first place. My only complaint is that she applied the set to my nails as is, without a manicure or even cleaning under my natural nail at all. I don't know if this is common, maybe it was just something my last salon did, but the nails definitely don't look as nice no matter how well applied without cleaning up the sides of the nail and cuticles first IMO. But next time I'll just ask for that and pay more for it if I have to, it's worth it. Otherwise these nails feel solid and look good, I'll definitely be going back to Dana when these grow out. This set was $35 by the way, with normal nail polish not gel. read more

I've known them more than 8yrs & it's always been a good experience. This place is next to my physical therapy office. I have been doing my own nails for a long time but wanted to get back into it with professionals. I wanted Cardi B nails so I went to a different place in Pelham Bay and walked out with a set that was 4 out of 10 at best. I Noticed something was wrong when people only complimented me on my color choice, LOL. So I researched some more and found Jimmy's work on Instagram. One day I stopped by and showed him a picture and got a good price quote. I decided to take the plunge two months ago on a Saturday morning and I could not be happier!!! My nails make me look rich and famous! They did my nails so well that I am STILL getting compliments two months later and I need a fill real bad, LOL. So the prices are good, their work is dynamite and they will last forever if you need them to for whatever reason. I took a chance on Jimmy and I am never looking back. This is my spot for life and I plan to go tomorrow on Saturday and I know my nails will be looking fresh for the new year. I paid $80 for: soak off/removal of horrible SNS, full set, medium length stiletto shape, glitter on 2 fingers, 5 jewels on both index fingers, 1 jewel on 8 fingers (I gotta bling), and airbrushed French tips on 8 fingers. They take their time and they don't care who's waiting. When you leave there, they have done a thorough job fit for a queen. When I entered the place I was greeted by the owner Jimmy. The place was crowded. As I waited I was scooping the place out to see if this was going to be the new place I will start a commitment n Formalize myself with the nail techs. Came here one day because my regular nail tech wasn't able to squeeze me in his busy schedule. I came here August 2014 and I haven't left ever since and I WON'T leave. The nail techs so amazing work but be prepared to wait!! Jimmy is a funny dude, don't mess with him, he'll joke on you bad!! Love my gel manicure! The prices are very reasonable. It's $20 for a gel manicure and then I did a design on each nail which was an extra $10. Not bad for a custom mani. I didn't wait to long and they have tv's going for entertainment. The place is a gem for great nails! read more

Unfortunately only some of the technicians are good. Others are very sloppy. I've been here 3 times and my gel manicure needed to be fixed or soaked off and reapplied due to polish having lines, holes or bumps and nails filed unevenly. After the 2nd time I stopped coming and only came for a 3rd bc I received a gift certificate. I will no be returning AGAIN. The owners will not acknowledge the mistakes or they will make you feel as if you're being unreasonable for wanting clean/neat nails. In addition they will make you wait over an hour to correct it since they don't take appointments and everyone typically waits an hour if not more. Not worth it. read more

Clean, sterile, great service, quiet setting (depending on the crowd), excellent nail job. Some techs are better than others of course, but I'm satisfied with everyone. They dont leave your fingers full of dust or chunks of acrylic under your nails; little things like that matter! Pretty average price. Full set of acrylic with gel color is $50 and it lasts forever! My nails never lift, bulk up at cuticle, chip or crack. I can go 6 weeks until they start looking not as new & fresh (depending how fast your nails grow). They use real materials & not cheap acrylic or alternative that breaks easy. And my nails go in water a lot too and still don't lift or break down. Loved this placed did my nails beautifully. I was suspicious at first but when they were finished I was pleased. They have good prices especially if your trying not to spend a lot of money. They have four televisions spread out so that you can watch tv whether your getting a pedicure or a manicure. They do have massage chairs which you don't have to pay extra so if you get a pedicure your very comfortable. They're are also quite a few food places around the area.
