That was not what we wanted. I am happy to report that Skip at Miller Lending along with his team of hard-working folks achieved for us exactly what they have advertised and what we wanted. A no-closing-cost refi. It was all done via email and the internet. Even the closing part couldn't have been easier as the notary from the lawyer we chose came right to our house! Do you still have to go through the annoying process of supplying all kinds of personal financial information? Yes. But you have to do that with any mortgage loan. We thought the whole deal was going to fall through. Our real estate agent suggested we try Carolina Home Mortgage, and they made the process so easy. CHM brought in a well-qualified appraiser, a local title attorney, and talked us through the various fees. Kearny, the owner, personally handled our mortgage and was always available by phone. He explained what we needed to do at each step of the process. When we decided to refi, we went back to Carolina Home Mortgage, and they were a pleasure to work with again. Kearny made sure our mortgage was prioritized and processed before our rate lock expired and a federal rate increase went into effect. We first connected with Alayna Weaver from Raleigh Mortgage Group during the preapproval process, while we were comparing rates among lenders. We eventually got a rate too good to pass up from a large commercial bank and went with them, thanking RMG for their help. The loan process from this bank ended up being a complete disaster, where problems arose last minute over things we should have been told weeks earlier. With closing coming up, and our trust in the bank fully broken after a week of fruitless back-and-forth, we decided to get our mortgage elsewhere, but it needed to be fast. I reconnected with Alayna, who gave us a sanity check by confirming the bank was being ridiculous, and snapped into action to help us. Within 36 hours, we had a fantastic rate in hand and were set up with a mortgage processor. Each time we ran into a problem, Alayna - who was readily available via text, phone, and email - as well as others at RMG (Hayley Jackson) and the processing team (Corry O'Neill and Kristina Polson) provided alternate choices or simply solved the problem. I've done a refinance through Pathway Mortgage Group, and it started off very well. I got a call…read morefrom Barb talking about how good of an idea it is to refinance, and how I can save money on interest rates, etc. I was promised a quick, painless process that would get me the lowest rate on the market (that came out to be true). Then I was told that if I "close" the refinance before a certain date, I do not have to pay the interest, which would save me a good $500-800. On top, I was promised to expect a "small gift" coming to my house right after closing. Well come closing date, the closing date gets moved with no explanation. Now the attorney is asking me as to what's going on, and I have no clue and no success at getting in contact with PMG. The closing date gets moved by a whole week, then another 3 days. At this point I knew I would have to pay the interest, and was regretting my decision to refinance. Finally, I get a call back from PMG stating the facts about my closing, with no explanation as to why they ghosted me. Come closing day, I go in to sign the papers, and sure enough at this point I owe more than $600 in interest. Mind you, my closing attorney tells me this, as PMG did not call to go over the closing statement or explain any of the charges. I was sitting at the attorneys office, calling PMG and asking about each number they put on there. What a nightmare, and embarrassment. Here's my outtake: PMG is great at finding the lowest interest rates on mortgages. In terms of paper work, it was easy. However, communication with clients needs serious improvement. Also, I would have really appreciated if they simply said, "we are sorry we delayed your closing date costing you money". Instead they went with the approach of not calling back and completely ignoring my questions. On top of all this never received a gift or even as much as a thank you note for refinancing through them. Customer service needs work. I hope this helps anyone else looking to refinance through them.

We went through two loans together in the past 5 weeks or so, the first one a super-rushed, 10-day-to-close loan that I was bait-and-switched into by another lender but which ultimately fell through due to low-appraisal failed negotiations, the second one being the one I closed escrow with today. You learn a lot about a person during trying times. Believe me, that first loan was a tough situation and very time-critical. Patrick pulled through for me in a time of crisis.
