Guarco Construction replaced my asphalt driveway and did an excellent job. They removed the old asphalt and prepped the base two weeks ago. They filled in the low spots of the base, added deep base for the widening I wanted, and graded it all to drain water away from the house. The new asphalt was put in yesterday and it looks great! Transitions to the road, garage floor and walkways are all smooth and level. The site was left clean too. Carl and his crew showed up on time, were easy to communicate with and courteous. We had our driveway installed by Guarco Construction in September 2017. It was the BEST home improvement we have made by far, and we've made a lot of home improvements! Carl and his crew regraded our driveway which is quite steep. It is now easier to walk up and down the driveway, and the cars climb it much easier than before. Shovelling the snow this winter has been a pleasure because the new driveway is so smooth! Carl used a surface treatment that improves the grip of the asphalt so it is no longer slippery when it gets wet. We had the work done while we were away on vacation and Carl was a pleasure to deal with. We came home and had a beautiful level strong asphalt pad to park our 2 ton camper van on. Carl has assured us that if there is any problem his crew can come out and fix everything like new, and we believe him. I cannot say enough good things about this company. I'm not one to write reviews, but I have to with Guarco because of the care and professionalism. I had about a half dozen people look at my driveway and the needs for the new grading, and Carl was the only one to furrow his brow and really get into potential issues with water drainage, pitch requirements, and a host of other considerations. It was clear that he wanted to do it right , and he gave it the same care he would give his own place. The quality of the work is excellent. The base he put down top notch, and even the blending he did into the lawn using topsoil is done with care. There's no mess in his crew's work. He laid out a schedule and kept to it. He's easy to deal with and clearly is making his business based on excellence, not quantity. His bid was the highest of them all, but his attention to detail and knowledge makes it worth it. If you're flipping a house and intend to sell it in two months, don't use Guarco. If you intend to stay in that house for more than a few years, and you want it done right, these are the guys you want. read more

This job went beautifully. Carl came quickly to do the estimate and always responded to phone calls. Compared to the other contractors we spoke to, I thought he was both more thoughtful about our needs and more conservative about where to put our efforts; after determining where our septic fields lie, he advised against the circular drive, but he also noted that given the condition of the existing driveway, repair would lead to cracks in a few years. His estimate for a complete replacement with added subsurface to improve grade was very competitive, and Carl scheduled our work along with another job he had in our neighborhood in order to offer us a discount. This posed a particular challenge as there were three "old" driveways layered over each other and I also required the driveway to be widened. Carl and his team of experts completed the job with excellent results. The team took care of all of the paperwork with the town, removed the old driveways, put in a new solid base for the driveway and then installed the new asphalt pavement.
