They are not open very much during the week. The outside is picturesque. As with most Catholic Churches, they are great photo opportunities.

A peaceful place of rest and prayer amidst an area of sensory extremes. Stopped by for a brief visit and was greeted with smiles. Left rejuvenated.

Located right off the strip next to the Wynn/Encore is a Catholic Cathedral perfect for going to mass over the weekend while visiting Vegas. I looked up the mass times online and came with my parents on a Sunday in December for morning mass at 11am. We got there a little early and the church filled in pretty quickly. There are a ton of hospitality workers, the cantor and pianist/organist were really good and the church was also super inviting. It was a very diverse group and great to have something off the strip for those traveling to attend mass. Beautiful church both inside and outside, parking isn't hard but it's a little tricky entering in because it's like a more than 4 way road/entrance and there's a roundabout.

"Our father who art in Heaven hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread, and forgive our trespasses, as we forgive those that trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever." Amen Religion is the one foundation that is so concrete that it either divides or unites. So many wars have been waged in the name of God. If one thinks about it the creation of man was started on war and strife; then war again. We can argue semantics all day and go to blows, but that's not what I am trying to deliver. The positive message in religion, especially Catholicism is a faith that helped establish the "world" that we currently love and live in every day. The foundations of the Catholic Church formed most of the Eastern and Western Faith systems and cultural value systems. Catholicism is a reality in how real life works. It involves us not bowing to a false god or chasing our tails. This is gonna get some of ya heated, but just listen before you and throw that phone or slam the computer down on your lap top. So many get so angry over their religious beliefs that they close out all messages from any one. I'm not trying to change anyone, or convert ya to any thing. The "True" message of our god no matter what ya call him is "LOVE." Many forget this and just try and convince someone of their own beliefs, of what "I believe." That's not the true message of the Bible, Torah, or the Koran. Yes, all these books are similar too. If you are not aware of this then explore it more. Just think about this fact, the Guttenburg Bible was the first book ever published by Martin Lurther in Germany. My faith was forever shaken for a minute when I lost my beloved. Knowing that God has a bigger plan for us all, I was selfish for a moment or too, longing for answers to "why he is gone?" and "how could ya?". Lookin back now I know that my husband has been released from this world and is up in Heaven with my mama, and sister. I am not finished here though. Yes, we are the only ones that can come to the self realization that we are worth something and will go on. Our maker gave us "free will," so it's up to us to pull it back together to be able to receive the gifts that he has ahead for us. Please know that whatever relationship that you have with your maker should be beautiful and happy. Practice love and kindness no matter whom you bow too, or pray too. Know that their is something bigger than us out their. We may not ever be able to comprehend it m, but when you loose someone that is so close to ya for over two decades you start to remember those Sunday school classes and that ruler. Oh the ruler was for the boys, our wild Catholic boys; right! Or not!! Guardian Angel Cathedral is a Catholic Church that provides all the necessary needs to its members and non church citizens. Knowing that so many locals work in and around the strip area this church was constructed with "us that work here," to have a place to come and worship. Sunday services are available three different times and one can come in before service if you need this special time. It's a fantastic place for getting right with the man upstairs. Opened in 1963, it was renovated in 1995 with the famous artist Edith Piczek. All the murals in the front and back are her work, the stained glass windows and her most famous the large mosaic over the main entrance of the cathedral titled: Penance, Prayer, and Peace greets you as you walk through the doors. Her details in the cross over the alter are breathtaking and her spirit can be felt with the love that she used to bring the warmth to the walls of the cathedral alive. Every time that I visit here I usually cannot fight the tears; they just flow; but the the presence of so much love and light who can control it. After I leave my soul is always cleansed and I feel revived again to face the darkness with that of light and love forever will continue to conquer because I exercise these things that my maker bestowed me with.

Angels are present all around us. They appear in different forms and sometimes we don't see them, but they are with us, guiding us in our daily busy lives. That's why I like this church. ..The name reminds me that I'm not alone in this world. Wherever I am, I'll have good protection and help whenever I ask...and even when I don't ask! What a comforting feeling! I like the convenience of the location (on the Strip, next to Encore); the great music (sometimes the band includes a trumpet); & the gift shop (prayer cards, medals, jewelry, etc. ). It's a beautiful, grand, modern cathedral where I can take time out to give thanks, ask for special blessings for friends and family, & sing without being judged!!

A cathedral just off the strip? Nice! One thing about Vegas, you are assured of a very cool interior after that blazing hot sun outside. Spacious with cathedral ceilings (Literally) and stained glass windows that let in filtered light, keeping the entire space very cool indeed. There are two smaller side chapels on the right side, and the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament is all the way to the front, right past the organ/choir area. On the day I was there, a wedding was going on, so I had to pass everyone to get to it. It made me feel a bit embarrassed to be disruptive. Vigil mass (Saturday) is at 4 pm. Sunday: 8:00 A.M., 9:30 A.M., 11:00 A.M., 5:00 P.M. Excerpted from Lonely Planet: The cathedral is officially the only place for visiting Roman Catholics to get married properly in Las Vegas, at least in the eyes of the church. Read more: http://www.lonelyplanet.com/usa/las-vegas/sights/religious/guardian-angel-cathedral#ixzz2ZDzyAgwt Lots of open parking here and easy access from the Strip (Las Vegas Blvd.) and back .

My husband's cousins has their vow renewals here. The church is beautiful. The speakers and sound resonance was very enjoyable during the small family event. The priest was humorous and made the event extra special. There is plenty of parking. I would recommend anyone who is looking to go to mass or plan their special day to come here.

The church has very convenient Mass times (2:30 pm Saturday...great if you are traveling!) and is very welcoming of visitors. While the building looks a bit worn on the outside, the interior is beautiful with lots of marble and features the amazing artwork of the talented team Hungarian sisters, Edith and Isabel Piczek.

Hoping everyone is enjoying their Sunday

The greeters at the door are always kind and smiling welcoming you in no matter what you wear or what you look like. There is childcare all free and a system with tags never had an issue with the childcare helpers there and for all ages too. They will text you if there is any issue with your child. The worship is always popping and full of good vibes some of us have our hands in the air others sway while others cry its ok its all welcomed. You can feel the love of God in the air and most importantly comfortable no matter what baggage you bring no one judges they just accept. I have been going here for several years and we love Judd and all the celebrity guests that come from time to time. Its helped us manuever through some of lifes hardships. Its worth trying out! Every. Single. Year... I go back and forth about posting this. But I'm at a point in my life, where…read moreI'm choosing not to stay silent about what I've been through, regardless of whether a lot of time has passed. So here are just some of the instances that happened during my time at this church, as a young 20 yr old trying to find peace after some trauma. This all happened several years ago, but clearly is something that has weighed heavily on me since then, and was ultimately the demise of my attendance with the church. 1) I was told very private information about other members of the church by leaders... information that should've never been shared, and information I had no business knowing. "Don't tell anyone I told you this, but..." -the woman's pastor. What had she been telling others about me? 2) being told "your works do not define who you are" and then being told that I'm not doing enough to serve the church after bending my back over for them and the children's ministry. 3) This is while I was venting about an unrequited love... Women's pastor: "did you have any kind of intimacy with this guy?" Me: "yes" (In my head: we kissed and that's it) Women's pastor: "well, when I was your age, I was a whore too" (those were her actual words) 4) "you're too young to know what real hurt is." Told to me by a member after I told the women's group that my boyfriend died of cancer 5) women's pastor: "are you an alcoholic?" Me: "no. I grew up around alcoholics and no i am not an alcoholic" Women's pastor: "well, alcoholics usually say they aren't..." I told her she basically just called me an alcoholic and then she gaslighted me into believing that it was my own insecurities and pride that took it that way... looking back on it now, no one else would have taken what she said in a different way than I did. As you can see, my review is mostly about one person. My experience is complex, like many others. I was easily influenced during these years, as I was desperate for healing, which is why I think I stayed even after seeing the red flags. Most people that come to church, come with trauma. I understand the idea in which people think their own healing journeys are the "answer" to everyone else's... it's not. But that is how I was treated. I did have positive experiences here too. The actual sermons and worship are really great. The members are typically great. It's a beautifully diverse church and I really loved how there were many different people from many different backgrounds. I found this church out of desperation for healing. My relationship with God strengthened at the time, but the way the women's pastor treated me through the mentioned experiences above, was gross. What's worse is that the two other members I confided in about my experiences with the woman's pastor, was not surprised. I quit the church cold turkey after reflecting on a year of my experiences with her.
