The staff has always been friendly beyond measure, thorough with their care, and have addressed my concerns with ease. They have been able to get me in on short notice when needed, and they've also been able to get my husband and I in for appointments together so that we don't have to make multiple trips (which is nice, given that we live in downtown Detroit, so it's a bit of a hike.) As a family practitioner, Dr. Baker has been able to catch and address many significant medical issues for both my husband and I-some of which we had not realized were even happening (hello, new onset cardiac arrhythmia...I do NOT like to see you on my EKG! Go. Away.) I hope that whoever McLaren has hired to replace Dr. Baker after the end of November 2023 is as amazing as she is, because the staff there deserves to work with a practitioner who is as good as they are...and I hope that wherever Dr. Baker is going knows just how much of a unicorn they've got, because she truly is the best!

She likes to find out right away what the issues are and fix them before they get worse. Sending my scripts in right away to the pharmacy of my choice is always super fast too. If you want a good, smart and caring doctor then you should ask for Dr. Erin Baker. She never makes you embarrassed of anything either. This facility is completely remodeled this year so it's even nicer than before. This has always been a clean facility i personally have never had a issue.

New management/new owners this year...seems to be a pretty seamless transition as most of the staff is the same. My mom is comfortable, clean, feels safe...they specialize in brain trauma...from Alzheimers, strokes...and it's a small home - less than 20 residents. The staff are busy...as with many businesses...no idle hands these days. They get all the residents dressed each morning, out to the central living room, showered, into pj's and into their own small private bedrooms in the evening. Physical therapist comes in frequently. These are brain trauma seniors though...catered for their very special needs. Our family is so grateful for their help and kind care. Thank you everyone at Heather Pines...we love you.

Staff complains they are too busy if asked why something was not taken care of. Seems they don't have time for anything. I wonder if any of them actually have a certification to pass medication. Gossip is a big problem here, things are just unprofessional and the Owner is part of it in my opinion. One shower for all residents & no ventable ceiling fan so the bathroom is too hot & does not vent odors because there in no window in that bathroom. It's just old & outdated and just doesn't seem to be a priority. Possibly because it is up for sale. It is less expensive that many places in the area. I was extremely disapointed in the activities. There are a few staff members that really care & are very good. Sadly, they cannot take care of everyone. I would be concerned if my loved one had any altered mental or physical condition. Also pick your own physician, homecare, hospice, etc. Your loved one has rights, do not let anyone take those away. If you are not sure, ask to see background checks, certificates, etc. Contact the state to find out information and/or with any concerns. The truth is, you get what you pay for. I would never refer this facility to anyone. The above statements are my personal opinion!!!!!!!!
