This is right up in the North of the Island and here you will find many exoctic birds along with penguins and monkeys. The cages are a little too small in my opinion and do not appear to be cleaned as often as I would prefer but it is not unpleasant. Some of the parrots will squawk hola to you as you pass them whilst others try and grab your hat or coat through the bars! My favourite part was the parrot show where 5 different species of parrot - Macaw, African Grey etc, will perform various tasks to show you that these are indeed inteligent creatures - to be fair its the same type of show you always get at this kind of place but nevertheless interesting. The scenery is wonderful as you walk amongs some gorgeous cacti - especially in the cactus garden. One other fun bit is when you walk in a large aviary and the birds fly around you - careful not to get too close or they may perch on you! The penguin area is the latest addition and there are plans to expand this further - there is also a very old giant tortoise and some rather smelly ostritches lol!! read more
