He used an iPad app to start out and I was skeptical at first but was sold when I saw how it kept their interest and allowed them to make progress right away (also a plus that they could play songs they already knew and liked) before starting with sheet music. Dr. B even did a little recital with all his students, which was a really nice touch :)
