When I was young growing up in Umea, this building used to house a school, it's a very nice looking building and has now been tastefully re-purposed to house a restaurant, a bar and a guitar museum. If you are into guitars this is a MUST VISIT. We got really lucky the first time I went to the museum, it was supposed to be closed for an event, but as it had not started yet and we we're in town for only a few days, they let us in AND provided us with a personal guide to show us around. The guy really knew his guitars and we had a blast for almost an hour seeing all the rare guitars and chatting to the guy about history and the tech. Amazing! I have also visited the bar quite a few times for beers with friends, making use of the outdoor seating when warmer and inside when colder. It's a nice atmosphere, decent music playing but it is a bit pricey. Haven't eaten anything but peanuts here, so I can't speak for their food service. Personally i like the mixed gender bathroom situation, feels very gender equality Swedish, but I'm sure that throws some visitors off. read more
