I was told that I could cancel at any time for $75 fee. And, I only wanted to sign up for 3 months to see how I liked the facility. After my free work out with a trainer, I knew this gym wasn't for me. The trainer shamed me because I couldn't afford the extra money per month for personal training. He said to me, "well, I guess if you don't want to spend $50 for your health, that's your choice." It was very demeaning. As for the $75 dollar cancellation fee, not true unless you MOVE more than 25 miles from the nearest Family Fitness. I own a home in Otsego, I have no intentions of moving, so I never inquired about this fee. I only inquired about a straight cancellation fee. This place is only interested in your money, their business practices are awful! Don't go here!

The one time the personal trainer was "available" he handed me two kettle weights and told me to swing them back and forth. Then he left "for a minute" and never returned. I wish I had never been roped in. On top of the fact that I have wasn't sure about joining because of a health issue and the employee mistakenly told me I could have a 30 day trial period. That was wrong, there was no trial period allowed. I found that out when I tried to cancel my membership (the first time). I am still trying to cancel. Not only because of my disability but also because of the shady way the corporation treats people!

Not sure why it took me so long to check this place out after living in Allegan for almost half a…read moredecade. Staff is super friendly, personable, and seem to know all of their members by name. One of the owners has a giant white board that he updates I believe every week with a suggested work out schedule. I have yet to try it out as I have my own work out regiment, but I thought that was pretty cool! It had 4 different room, a front weight room with weight machines, a giant free weight room, a class room, and then a cardio room. It also has tanning, a sauna, and two very nice showers. I also love that you have the option of 24 hour access for a very small fee. Another great bonus, you're not locked into a contract. You can end any time you would like which is awesome (Not that I plan on leaving anytime soon.) If you are looking for a gym that isn't too crowded, with friendly staff and at a great price. The stack & pin-select resistance equipment is a little outdated, but it is well maintained and was good to go ergonomically. I was impressed with the breadth of options for exercise. The equipment mix allows training of all muscle groups with sufficient variety to avoid repetitive stress injuries. Plus, with so many options you can find a good alternative if you're intended station is in use. I've only been there once but the culture seemed encouraging toward building community and getting more fit together -- at least for those so inclined. If that (culture) hunch proves true, I'd say that's some secret sauce that on it's own makes it worth a visit if you're looking for a gym in the Otsego area.
