For me, when traveling, I always like to try to check out any CD stores, if I can find one, and this one...ok, I get it, captive audience, there aren't too many places at all with physical locations selling CDs these days, most brick and mortars have long since moved online or threw in the sponge after Amazon, etc. started dominating that market space. Still, throwing close to $20 at any new CD is a tough pill to swallow. So, even if you don't ultimately pick anything up, this is a pretty cool place to just go to and browse...if you're looking for that sort of one thing that you just have to have, chances are pretty good if you spend enough time here, you'll find it. So I found out about this store while researching what to do and where to stay/eat in Elko, NV. I…read morewas excited to see what brands of work wear and western wear that they carried being that Elko is a rather rural environment. Upon entering the store I was pleased to find a nice variety of brands like Carhartt, Wrangler, Red Wing, Danner and my two favorites Filson and White's Boots. If you know anything about Filson and White's you will understand that finding a store with a good selection of these brands is hard because of the high price point. After trying on my fair share of Filson garments I was pleased to find that they were willing to offer a 5% discount on Filson items. 5% isn't much but hey a discount is a discount. I began to chat with the woman working there who ended up being the owner, Anita. As we chatted about a recent collaboration between Filson and Levi's she quickly brought up the another collaboration that Levi's did with Pendleton which was impressive to me when her closest Levi's store is 300 miles away in Reno, NV. All in all I had a great experience here and would recommend this spot to anyone who needs gear while in or around Elko.

Like another place in Elko that has a hodge podge of stuff, I imagine you might have to, given the area and all, here we have primarily a comic book store, with a very deep selection of back issues, much lighter selection of trades, action figures, toys, board games, plastic models and supplies for modeling, including paints, used CDs, LPs, DVDs and I imagine some stuff that I probably missed trying to see it all. Layout is a bit...I will charitably call it haphazard, but if you're looking for diamonds in the rough, changes are very good you will find it here if you spend the time. I came across a number of things I hadn't seen in years and a few I didn't know existed at all, just via casual browsing. Prices don't seem to be marked particularly well, but the staff is quite nice and helpful. All in all, if you need a comic fix, this is the spot and I'd rank it solidly in the middle, maybe on the higher side of the middle, of all the places I've been...just hope they are able to expand into a bigger space.
