So I found out about this store while researching what to do and where to stay/eat in Elko, NV. I…read morewas excited to see what brands of work wear and western wear that they carried being that Elko is a rather rural environment. Upon entering the store I was pleased to find a nice variety of brands like Carhartt, Wrangler, Red Wing, Danner and my two favorites Filson and White's Boots. If you know anything about Filson and White's you will understand that finding a store with a good selection of these brands is hard because of the high price point. After trying on my fair share of Filson garments I was pleased to find that they were willing to offer a 5% discount on Filson items. 5% isn't much but hey a discount is a discount. I began to chat with the woman working there who ended up being the owner, Anita. As we chatted about a recent collaboration between Filson and Levi's she quickly brought up the another collaboration that Levi's did with Pendleton which was impressive to me when her closest Levi's store is 300 miles away in Reno, NV. All in all I had a great experience here and would recommend this spot to anyone who needs gear while in or around Elko.

I went in with little to no expectations, and just because it's a small town so I figured the draw would be minimal and product would be sparse. Welp, I'm an idiot and I couldn't have more impressed with this diamond in the rough. Good selection and over the top customer service. The salesman actually asked my name and shook my hand, as if he cared and wanted my hard earned money to be spent in his location. And it will be. Firstly, while this review contains a complaint, I hope both the store and its customers will take…read moreit as constructive criticism. I would strongly encourage back-issue collectors to visit. The store has a great old-school feel and an enormous stock. Prices are reasonable, and the proprietor was engaging, knowledgeable, and helpful. Now to my gripe: of the three Bronze Age books I paid $5.00 each for, two were incomplete. One was missing pages, while the other was missing two-thirds of its back cover. The store tapes its bagged-and-boarded stock thoroughly and adds a barcode with a description, indicating that the damage must have been obvious. I would strongly encourage customers to ask the owner for an opportunity to inspect books before purchasing them. And to the store, if you are going to sell books with major defects, please state clearly on the bag that the book is incomplete.

This place is pretty wild. It could probably expand into another space of similar size and still…read morenot quite have space enough for everything. Like another place in Elko that has a hodge podge of stuff, I imagine you might have to, given the area and all, here we have primarily a comic book store, with a very deep selection of back issues, much lighter selection of trades, action figures, toys, board games, plastic models and supplies for modeling, including paints, used CDs, LPs, DVDs and I imagine some stuff that I probably missed trying to see it all. Layout is a bit...I will charitably call it haphazard, but if you're looking for diamonds in the rough, changes are very good you will find it here if you spend the time. I came across a number of things I hadn't seen in years and a few I didn't know existed at all, just via casual browsing. Prices don't seem to be marked particularly well, but the staff is quite nice and helpful. All in all, if you need a comic fix, this is the spot and I'd rank it solidly in the middle, maybe on the higher side of the middle, of all the places I've been...just hope they are able to expand into a bigger space.
