I ate here 3 times during a 5-day stay and found it to be the best restaurant in Puerto Angel. To start with, the location right off the beach is handy, and the walk up the stairs affords a great view of the entire cove, with a pleasant breeze. (The stairs start opposite the naval base, downtown.)
Fresh fish is prepared to a simple recipe and cooked perfectly. So...no secret formula, no long time in preparation, just simple and tasty. They get the fish off the boat in the morning and cook it that night.
A few drinks are available, so are fresh bread and salad, desserts not so much. The 2nd generation of owners are also the cook and maitre d', and they make sure their place works for each guest.
The hotel is pretty good for its low-price niche ("good value" fits well), while the restaurant is truly fine. You should eat here whether or not you board here. read more
