Especially the white tomato soup, the flavor was amazing, although it was bit salty, on the other hand, really good if you dip a bit of bread with it) The foie gras and scallop starter had good flavor and texture balance. But it was a bit oily. The pork tenderloin main course unfortunately was so tough I couldn't cut through the meat and ended up sending it back. They were very accommodating and fixed it for me (I felt bad because it was pretty late and they were clearly closing the restaurant). The fixed plate was better, but parts were still chewy. Beside the issue with the meat the rest of the plate was way over salted. The place has potential, but not quite there yet. One starter, one main, plus a glass of wine and water came or to be ~45€, which is a lot for over salted food. However well intentioned it may be.

The atmosphere is quite relaxed without an enforced dress code. Most diners were in jeans and a button shirt paying homage to the Chef's wishes to enjoy the food without any of the traditional formalities. And did I not mention SoulFood earned a well deserved 1 Michelin Star in 2022?!! So I definitely recommend the restaurant for a place in indulge without the stress of 'dressing for the occasion.' The tasting menu is seasonal and always changing, and one would be lucky to try the level of sophistication coming out from this kitchen. The dining area is relatively small and I believe they only sit one cover a night; so reservations are a MUST! We came with a party of four, and the tasting menu was at a relative bargain at $89 euros given that the tax and tip is include (although we did still tip a little more for the superb hospitality!). The tasting menu started a couple of amuse which only gets you mouth watering for the mains! All of courses displayed the essence of "NYC" uniqueness and cooked to perfection. We paired each course was an amazing selection of local wine that were less than $5 euros a pour, and these pours were HEAVY. There was added flare with the tableside presentations and Chef Laus greeted and served at least one dish to everyone in the restaurant!
