We recently used Gutterman Services to power wash our home. The two employees that did the work were very conscientious about doing a good job, wore masks, as did I, for safety due to Covid 19. We walked around the house before and after the task was completed to ensure that we were pleased with job. The next morning, one of my neighbors stopped by to say that he was impressed with the work and thought that our siding looked new. Thank you Marvin and your co-worker for a job well done. The quality of the installation seemed fine, that is until it snowed in January, less than a year after installation. I have lived in my town home for 28 years and have lived through some horrendous winters. I'm familiar with water freezing in the gutters etc. I'm aware of how my home is positioned in relation to the sun. Etc. Etc. Etc. I was surprised when my gutters froze again in January. The entire downspout was frozen. No other townhome on my strip of six ( three same model) had the same issue. Neither did the strip of five next door to me. I have dozens of pictures. Bottom line- after a few very long conversations, the last one with a manager who AGREED they needed to look at the installation.... that it was not my fault, or the houses fault, or the fault, or the weather's fault- that they would come out when the weather was better . I was exhausted but pleased. They knocked the ice out of the downspout. Which was very nice of them to do. The same issue occurred with the additional snow we received. Gutters frozen, water dripping into my front step and refreezing. I took more pictures etc Today I called to schedule an appointment to have the gutter installation inspected. Here we go again.... Immediately they said It was not their fault it's my house and blah blah blah. I just had to hang up on the whinny kid who tried to deflect talking about my issue. He just wanted to tell me why it was my problem. He REFUSED to let me speak with a manager. I'm going to complain on every online site I can. I'm going to request a refund. The company who owns Gutterman's is NED'S HOME. Their services include dry vent cleaning, power washing, window cleaning, mosquito control. In my opinion, this company has no integrity. They are great when everything goes well, and tell you to take a hike when it's not. read more

DO NOT USE GUTTERMAN SERVICES!! This is the most dishonest company I've ever dealt with in my 25 years as a homeowner. Their poor workmanship caused water damage to our home and they refused to stand behind their work. Gutterman Services installed a K-Guard gutter on one section of our roof in 2011 right before we moved in. Flash forward to 2022 and there was water leaking from the gutter out of a hole near the end and it had rusted. Water from the gutter was constantly dripping onto our roof and water had damaged the soffit and side of our house. KGuard gutters are supposed to have a lifetime warranty, so we reached out to K Guard who told us that Gutterman Services is THEIR ONLY distributor in the mid-Atlantic and responsible for any K Guard warranty. We called Gutterman Services and they came out to look and said that the gutter was just "dirty" and that they would "reseal" it for about $300. I said there was clearly a hole but again was told it was just "dirty." I had our handyman look at it who said there was a hole. My brother, a contractor, looked at photos and said there was a hole near the end and that Gutterman probably cut a hole by mistake and then just patched it. I hired another gutter roofing company to come out and evaluate the damage. They took photos and gave us a written assessment, which stated that the gutter slope was incorrect, causing water to flow incorrectly, that there was a hole for a downspout where no downspout could go, and the gutter ends were not sealed. Given this assessment, we reached out to Gutterman Services by email several times but got nowhere. K Guard said that someone named Anne was the owner, but Anne told us she only handled billing. After several emails back and forth we spoke with someone named Sara M. Sara told us a series of un-truths. First, Sara told us that there used to be a downspout where the gutter was. We told her this was untrue because we have the plans for our home's remodel and there wasn't a downspout at the end of the gutter. Sara then said the previous owner was told they needed a downspout but the previous owners didn't want one (also untrue and no downspout could go where the hole was located). Sara also told us that someone from Gutterman Services had offered us a warranty when we bought the house on that section of gutter but we had declined and that Gutterman Services would replace that section of gutter at cost ($1,000+). We told Sara that we expected Gutterman Services to replace the gutter at their cost since it was their poor workmanship that caused the damage to our roof/house; we said we would pay for the cost to repair the house and soffit. We asked Sara in an email if she would provide us with the name of the person she claimed offered us the warranty and said we were going to reach out to the previous owners before making a decision. This was her immediate response: "At this time, after the amount of time spent on the part of my company in trying to give you a solution, it seems clear that you are not going to be satisfied with any solution that we offer you. I believe it would be in the interest of both parties for you to find another company that can better service you. Our estimate to replace the gutter at time and materials cost is rescinded." It is clear to us that Gutterman Services was being dishonest and got caught. We did in fact speak to the previous owner and they said nobody ever spoke to them about the gutters and had NO idea about any of this. Gutterman Services clearly didn't install the K Guard gutter correctly in 2011 and they refused to stand by their work. We hired another company to come out and "repair" the gutter but it will never be right because it isn't a solid piece of metal and it will eventually need to be replaced. read more

I have a pleasant experience with inspector Jeff. I requested a estimate on gutter replacement. Estimator Jeff came to estimate. he is very patient and polite and knowledgeable. He took the time to understand and addressed all my questions. then he sent me a quote for gutter and a quote for roof replacement. Then he went above and beyond to answer question why watermark on garage ceiling, but not on bedroom above the garage . he opened access door that leads to attic on top of garage and is blocked by a knee size wall in the bedroom above garage. Then we discovered wet damaged plywood there and discovered why. it is because all the insulation and drywall are catching the water in attic, where is outside of the knee level wall of my bedroom on top of garage. thank you Jeff! read more

Project Management - Jorge is amazing, helped us prioritize what we needed within budget, didn't upsell or pressure us, and kept everything on track and was easily accessible Roofing - Jaime is fantastic, everything was done quickly, but also done very well. Easy to see his focus on quality and correct installation, not just getting it done quickly Siding/Trim - Chris and team are top notch, they aren't the fastest, but have a very clear focus on getting things done in a way that leaves the owner happy at the end of the project (lots of little customizations, since it's all done manually). Short and sweet: Gutterman is fantastic at what they do. We replaced virtually the entire exterior of our home with them, barring the brick, windows, and doors. We had Gutterman replace our siding, trim, gutters, window capping, our roof and plywood as well as installing new sun tunnels. We started our project with a general idea of what we wanted to do and a budget in mind, and Jorge worked with us quite a bit to figure out where to spend the money and where to cut back to make sure we end up with quality materials where it made a mattered. He didn't push us to go over our budget, or to buy anything we didn't think was worth it. We didn't get a hard sell from Jorge at any point, rather it felt like a nice partnership, with him helping us stay within budget throughout the project. Now to the project; Their roofing team is top notch. Jaime was the roofing lead and he is incredible. Very communicative if something came up, but really knocked the roof out quickly without seeming to rush it. My best anecdote about how much he cares - in order to do the siding they have to anchor scaffolding to the roof, Jamie didn't like how the shingles looked where they anchored it, so he came back and replaced all the shingles in that area after the siding was done, totally unprompted. You can tell that his priority is making sure the job is done correctly, not just done. The siding/trim team is also top notch. They "outsource" this part, but it's local family owned team that's top notch. Chris was our main POC, and he's fantastic. His dad's experience is second to none, manually bending, cutting, and installing the siding and trim. Chris wasn't shy to ask questions about what we want done to make sure we were happy with the final result. They caught some rotted plywood when replacing siding and ran to the store and replaced it. They asked about one area that had no insulation to see if we wanted them to fill it in. They also added some designs to the trim on the front of our house which really makes it look cleaner and more intentional where we previously had flat and boring spots under windows and over our garage. We did have one issue where some siding started to sag a little about a month or two after installation, I believe it was within 48 hours Chris was out and fixed the issue, but also checked other spots to make sure it was all good to go. There was no hemming and hawing, he was very (unnecessarily) apologetic and kind about the issue. Back to Jorge for a minute - he was our main POC for the entire project, from initial review, quote, installation, and punch list items after the fact. He really helped us visualize the project in its entirety, which wasn't easy given everything we had to do. We changed the colors of the entire house, but he also suggested the sun tunnels which have been absolutely fantastic. I already mentioned that he helped us stay within budget, but he really helped us in prioritizing things like the sun tunnels, which add a lot of value to us in terms of getting more natural light in our home at a lower cost than skylights and in a way that is much more likely to stand the test of time without leaking or other issues. Jorge was also here almost every important day when work was being done, he'd come at the beginning of each leg as well as the end, and sometimes stayed the entire day. As mentioned, they had great leads (Jaime and Chris), but it was also nice to have Jorge checking in throughout the project. He was very accessible and responsive through text, phone, and email any time we had questions or concerns (I don't actually remember any concerns). The guy who came to provide the estimate followed my wife's phoned instructions and requirements perfectly. Their two workers came to do the job earlier than expected, which wasn't an issue b/c they didn't need access inside of the house. They were quick, efficient, and completed the job in a matter of hours. Description of work: Our gutters and downspouts were in poor shape, and we needed some kind of gutter guards at the minimum. They quoted a good price to replace them all with larger better quality gutters, including gutter guards, and new longer downspouts in multiple spots. read more

Steve Spencer came to conduct an estimate on my house, after a bit of back an forth regarding the price we agreed on a set price and I signed the contract. Work was to be be completed 2 weeks after signing given good weather. There was 2 days of bad weather in that time frame, however Gutterman Services failed to abide by their contract. Instead they just postponed the scheduling date for my work for 4 weeks WASTING my TIME and ENERGY! I would follow up every week and would just get a "I am in a meeting message" which was very rude. I finally got a call from Harold almost a month after the signed contract with Gutterman Services saying he had to cancel and was going back on his word. I WOULD NOT CONDUCT SERVICE WITH THEM. I contacted Gutterman for a long overdue gutter cleaning. It was the height of their busy season, so took a few weeks for them to come out. Scheduling was easy and they called the day before to let me know they were coming - just needed to make sure the outside water was on. The gutters look much better now and everyone I spoke to on the phone was pleasant. My only complaint is the yard sign they left in my front yard advertising the business. Not sure if this is a normal practice but it's one I don't care for, especially since it's against HOA rules to have yard signs in my community. However, I'm pleased with the service and price overall and would use them again. read more

We hired Gutterman to clean our gutters for $179.00. They ran water from our hose though the gutters and prepared to leave in 15 minutes. The outside of our gutters needed cleaning to look better from the street and they told us it would be a extra service. I was asked to call the office and ask for a power wash service. I got very little for the money spent! read more

We recently paid a whopping $650 for Gutterman to come out and clean/repair our gutters. They cleaned the gutters however, as noted on our bill they did not repair the loose straps, or the dripping and loose gutters. We will never hire this company again nor will we recommend their work. read more

Lousy workmanship, unresponsive, beware, and untrustworthy. Would not deal with them, very unprofessional when asked for simple resolution to issues. I payed for tarping and shingles to be replaced and they did nothing right on either of those. The tarp was flapping around, the insurance adjusted even pointed out it was not not properly affixed. So, basically my roof was NOT protected from potential damage from water, of which we have had plenty over the past 6 six weeks. I called them to re-affix it and 4 weeks later nothing happened. I believe that warrants a refund of the full price and they chose not too. Point is simple, you take someone's hard earned money - do the job and do it right. No excuses. Now, they want to send someone out but its too late, I had to get someone else to take care of it properly and who knows how much water damage might have been done due to the lack of responsiveness. And, when I called in to discuss the situation, I had a largely unprofessional discussion with their office manager, Ann, on this topic. I guess should be no surprise given that nothing was done right. I believe I am a reasonable guy until pushed. Lastly, my neighbor also had the same exact complaints with these guys. Strongly suggest those looking for services look at Best Picks (no surprise, you won't find Gutterman in there). Of course, I wish I knew this prior also. read more

Short story - save your time and money and go with a professional and responsive company that will stand by their work and warranty. Long story - I had Gutterman replace my roof and gutters a little over a year ago. There were red flags from the start that I look back at and now kick myself for continuing with their service. The initial person to come out missed so many things that ended up costing thousands more after work had already been started. No turning back at that point and I'm sure this was already known prior to work starting. There was even promise of some areas to repair during this initial estimate visit, but ended up costing more money. Definitely some crafty and/or shady sales tactics to get more money to complete the job right. That or the company is inexperienced in roofs with different levels, pitches and some complexity. The workers destroyed landscaping lights, did not clean up, left multiple areas of the siding and fascia unfinished and did shoddy work with the gutters while saying the job was complete. Luckily the owner came by and pointed out the deficiencies. I was happy for that fact but this also started a chain of events that spiraled down hill in terms of unprofessionalism and unresponsiveness. Over the past year and to this day, there is still an unresolved issue with the gutters that the company is not fixing. They have come out numerous times and claim that they will have a solution and will resolve it. Usually after a few weeks, I end up reaching out to find out status. There have been times that I received no response at all for weeks and had to reach out multiple times. How can I expect the company to honor their warranty if I have a leak in the roof if they are unresponsive. The owner had initially agreed to pay for the landscaping lights that were destroyed. I never got this payment even after asking multiple times. Finally I was paid a year later, but got unprofessional remarks about it. I didn't even make the initial request for the payment, yet I'm in the wrong for demanding someone to honor their word from a year ago. Read some of the negative reviews here and you'll see there are similar stories. The positive reviews must be for simple jobs such as basic gutter cleaning. At this point, I'll have to pay more money to hire a reputable, professional and responsive company to resolve my issues and take care of any roofing or gutter needs. Go anywhere else. If they treat you like they treated me, they will ignore you and not finish the job. In early November 2015 I called Gutterman and asked for my gutters to be cleaned and my roof inspected sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I know this is a busy time of year for them, so I thought that giving them a 4-week window with three weeks notice would be plenty of warning. Not so. November came and went, and then December came and went, with no service from Gutterman and no communication from them about when I could expect service. I called them on December 30 to ask about the status of my service and they said they "got backed up" and would clean the gutters the next time they had someone in my neighborhood. After I was curt with the poor customer service woman, she said she would have someone come out the next day (December 31) to perform the service. I asked "If I had not called today, when were my gutters scheduled to be cleaned? When would you have done the work?" I got no clear answer. The next day, a crew of two came out and spent a little time cleaning the gutters and walking the roof. A month later, I still had not received the report from the roof inspection, which is supposed to include photography, a summary write-up, and recommended repairs. I called Gutterman again around February 1 to ask for the report and was told by the fine customer service representative that it "must have slipped through the cracks" and that she would reach out to the crew who did the work and get them to complete the inspection report. It is now March 5 and I have heard nothing from Gutterman. My plan was to have the roof repaired and re-shingled this spring if it was needed, so now I am searching for another company who is perhaps more responsive to customers. read more

A few years ago we had Gutterman replace our gutters. They came highly referred and we could not have been more pleased with their professionalism and frankly their in market pricing. We have been a customer for years of a variety of their services. Recently after a hailstorm we were inundated by what I would call "roof Pirates." All of them said I had hail damage to my roof and gutters and were willing to "help" me with repairs. I called Gutterman for their expertise. They came out today and assured me that in fact both my roof and gutters were fine and not in need of any repair. I would trust Gutterman with any project at my home. It would be difficult to do much worse than Gutterman. I called in June because I noticed my gutters were sagging. First, they can't even come out for 2 months to give an estimate. Secondly, they charge me $200 for just the estimate appointment. Then they take 2 weeks to even send me the results of the estimate appointment. Then they lose my work order for another 2 month delay. So in total it took 5 months to do the work that should have just take maybe 2 weeks lead time. On the other hand they actually answer their phone and email which is more than I can say for the 5 other gutter companies I tried. read more

We called them and scheduled a visit for a free roof inspection after getting a flyer in the mail. I spoke directly to both the main office and the individual contractor responsible for doing the inspection (I assume he was subcontracted) and they scheduled a 5pm visit the following day. After not showing up at the promised time nor calling me to alert me to their tardiness, I called the contractor again for an update on when to expect him and never received a call back. As a result I simply called another local roofing contractor and gave them our business. Obviously I would not recommend Gutterman to anyone for anything based on my experience and their lack of basic professionalism and courtesy. Based on other reviews, It looks like they may actually do good work when they follow through, but I will never find out. read more

The guy gave us estimate that should cover for everything, but only thing they did was took out the damaged part and left area exposed but they charged us anyway (they had our credit card #). They never responded to us after that, until finally month later they contacted us asking for so much more money to finish the job. I am writing this review in hopes of getting a response. I see that the President often responds to reviews and it's my hope to hear something. We have a service contract with this company and usually have 5 - 6 visits per year. Our spring service didn't occur, and when I called to inquire about the status of it, I was informed that I didn't need to make a new appointment, because we were already scheduled and "it would be done the next time the crew is out your way". Now, it's on me for not being clear about when that might occur, but I was certainly not thinking it would be more than a week. It's now been about 6 weeks and we've heard nothing. My husband has called several times and no one returns the calls. I know companies are busy due to all the rain right now, but what is the point of paying for a service contract if you are not prioritized to receive that service on schedule. Our patio has become damaged from the amount of overflow from the gutters, and water pools up around the house every time it rains. I'm shocked our basement hasn't flooded yet. I am so disappointed in the damage, but more in the lack of follow up. If you're behind on service for clients, just say so. read more

I did call during the busy season, but a 10 day window does seem a little excessive. I appreciated the call ahead the day before. When they arrived, pretty early I might add, they got right to work. The two young men seemed pretty qualified. Only one spoke English, which is fine, but they made me a little nervous on the roof. I feel like regardless of the state of your gutters, mine definitely needed to be repitched, they tell you that they recommend NEW gutters. Shocker. Sometimes they also come unannounced. I signed up for Yelp just to leave a review for Gutterman Services because my experience was amazing: I am a young, first time homeowner that was in need of new gutters. I contacted Gutterman, a few days later I received the FREE in home estimate. Their consultant (Kory) was extremely knowledgeable and he did not try to pressure me or make a quick sale. He was very honest and also patient with me. I went with the KGuard system and large downspouts. My wife is very happy with the curb appeal, it really makes the house pop! I love the lifetime warranty (no sag, no clog) and it carries over should we decide to move (great selling point). The install was quick and the workers were very polite and professional. Based on this experience alone, they will be my first call should I need other work done in the future! read more

We recently had a critical issue that we needed diagnosed and fixed, to ensure that we didn't have significant water damage with the crazy weather we have been having. We contracted Gutterman to replace our ~78-year-old slate roof, gutters, dormers, and three windows after the Spring/Summer storms proved to finally do them in and our roof started to leak. Despite their heavy workload, Chris (owner) came to see our property, communicated with me through several job estimates, and walked me through every detail until we mutually agreed on scope and schedule for the job. Tony, Escobar, and crew started on the day they said they would and coordinated all aspects of the job in advance (e.g., new slate delivery, carpentry materials, dumpster trailer) so they could hit the ground running. They demoed all old slate and wood within a few days; turns out we had a significant amount of water damage and wood rot on the back of our house due to neglect and poor repair from several previous owners. Tony explained every detail to us along the way, presented reasonable approaches to repair the unforeseen damage, and documented the entire process. Before we knew it, the new slates were going on, the carpentry work was completed, the new windows were in, and they even performed some masonry work on our chimney. The finishing touch was brand new half round copper gutters and downspouts, which really put the icing on the cake. They even took the time to do a thorough clean up and cleared the drainage pipes to ensure water was moving away from the house quickly. This was a big job that took longer than scoped (because of unexpected damage and a few stretches of really poor weather - including the remnants of a hurricane), but Chris and Tony did a great job to work with me throughout the entire ordeal. They really are a first-class company. We have recommended them to several friends/co-workers/neighbors and we are already discussing a follow-on job in the Spring. Good help seems increasingly hard to find anymore, but we're so thankful to have found Gutterman! We'll be customers for years to come! read more

I met with the salesman on a Saturday, I initialed a proposed contract, was told an installer would contact me on Monday. No one contacted me. Only after repeated calls/texts to the salesman did he finally respond. We met to finalize my payment agreement yesterday when I was told that the materials I was offered to replace fascia and rake boards was now not recommended by the owner, after 12 days had elapsed. They offered me a different material at twice the original price I was quoted. This company failed at communication, customer service, knowledge of materials, and failed at the bait and switch technique. I would never recommend this company. read more

Had Gutterman Services replace my gutters a couple years back with good results. Recently I had them come out and do an inspection, clean etc. If I could give them zero stars I would. I was told that they would take pictures of all. I tried for days to obtain these pictures with very poor success. I finally, after having a "run -in" with a very rude Ann in the office I was able to obtain the pictures. When the workers were done with the services they stated that all was fine, however one of the pictures showed differently (see attached pic). I know that they were taking care of my property but the townhouse adjacent to mine was missing a large piece of siding leading to their attic which was very clear on one the pics. It was in a place that could not be seen from the ground and would have eventually caused my neighbor a great deal of problems in the future with whether it be a large amount of rain or even snow melting off the roof. To add insult-to-injury I had asked the workers to please check the fascia board under the gutter because there was a dark mark rather large on the board. No picture was taken of this as it should have been. One of the workers told me "don't worry about it it is nothing but a piece of dirt." I had my neighbor check this out and it turned out to be some sort of nest. Gutterman Services did not clean the outside of the gutters which are covered in algae. They did not take care of the area on the fascia board. Gutterman Services are VERY inefficient whether it be in the office or in the field and I would not recommend them for anything! I called this company to get additional information regarding your services and projected services dates. I stayed on the line despite repeated yelling fits of your customer service representative regarding robo-calls; and then when I finally received the information I called about, I asked if I could call back because I was being interrupted with an incoming call from my daughter's school. The customer service representative was inappropriate and rude exclaiming that she couldn't believe that I wasn't ready to commit given a "guaranteed" window of service. Granted, the representative had no idea what was happening on my end of the phone conversation - but she also did not give me an opportunity to even get two words out before I was cut off on the phone line. ****UPDATE****: Was contacted by the company and received many apologies, as well as a direct response from their President, Chris. I am giving them an opportunity to provide services. They have redeemed themselves in the customer service category. Because of this, I have changed this review rating from one star to three stars. Will review again based upon services provided. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Crews they send out seem competent but the office staff and owners are callous, rude, don't care about customer service and will make promises they have no intention of delivering on. Ann even went so far as to forward me an email where she made disparaging remarks about me to a coworker (after I asked her to provide information she had previously promised me - certainly an unreasonable request on my part). My husband had an excellent interaction with Larry, the guy that came for the estimate. He was very helpful and seemed honest and was easy to deal with in general. He told my husband they would be a couple weeks out and would charge 30% upfront and then bill the rest. That never happened. The work was done with a day's notice, not weeks (fine with us) and we were not charged the 30 percent (no big deal). However, when the work was complete, all the sharp, metal trimmings were left in the yard, including the downspout they trimmed off. Not only was it unprofessional to leave all the trash for us to clean up, the sharp metal trash is not what I want in a yard where kids and dogs play. My husband emailed Gutterman to let them know we were unsatisfied with the way the job was left (it is possible the actual gutter coverings are going to work just fine; we don't know yet). We got THREE bills in TWO days, right after the service, with ZERO follow up on the actual job. I emailed them to let them know they would have to wait for the bank to get it there (online bill pay). Then another bill came, along with one in the mail. So, four bills in three days. The FIRST bill we got, we sent the money from the bank. However, because it isn't magicked over, it takes a few days for the bank to deliver. We then, THE NEXT DAY got a PHONE CALL AND AN EMAIL wanting money, with still NO MENTION of the crappy job. Once again, I replied when the bank was supposed to deliver. (It takes less than a week for the check to arrive.) We paid our bill IMMEDIATELY (regardless of the few days it takes the bank to process), even though we were NOT satisfied, and they have hounded us EVERY SINGLE DAY for their money (do people usually hand them a check onsite?). We will never recommend them, we will never use them again. I'm not sure how quickly they are used to getting their money, but maybe they would have felt more secure if they'd simply gotten their 30% upfront? I have no idea what the rush is; we've never been harassed like this in our lives by any service company (maybe because the other companies know money doesn't magically appear on their desks). read more
