There's also great lounge and seating nooks. I think there's even more downstairs. I'm not super familiar with the LeBron James Foundation's work in Akron, but this space feels like a great gathering spot for the community.

I asked the cashier how much it was and she stated $17. I decided to look around the Farmers Market first and get the Tote on my way out. I came back and got the Tote, it rang up at $18 this time with tax and asked if I wanted to add a tip. I said No and continued my purchase. When I got home, I looked at the receipt and saw not only was the Tote a dollar more, but a $3.60 tip was added after I said No. I like the Tote but I do not like being ripped off.

Came here for a customer golfing event. Our own company was organized, and knew where to park the…read morebus. Our guy even unloaded our bags. Firestone had the golf cars ready. We warmed up at any of the driving, putting and pitching ranges. Caddies directed us to our first tee and told us the rules, showing us their signals. The dinner afterward was very nice. The room with a small bar was perfect. There are three courses here. We played the South course where the pros play. The fairways were beautiful. The caddies made for a good time despite the difficulty of the holes. Be sure to purchase an item from the pro shop. We appreciated playing on this historical course.

Very nostalgic historic course I had an opportunity to play the north course and it was simply…read moreamazing and so challenging once you play where the pros play you have a completely different opinion of how good these guys really are. This is course that demands respect and every shot needs to be thought through if you want to finish respectable. Hole #1 On this fair opening hole, favor the right side of the fairway to avoid the left side fairway bunker. This will leave a short- to mid-iron into the green guarded by a pond in the front left. Hole #4 This dogleg left requires an accurate tee shot. Any shot left will have trouble with a huge bunker or trees. Any shot right will run through the dogleg possibly behind more trees. The second shot will be a mid- to short-iron to a green guarded by a front left and back right bunker. Hole #7 Another reachable par 5 if you drive it straight and long. The second shot, if you choose to go for it, is a real risk reward shot. The green is surrounded by water on all but the front entrance into the green. This green is very deep with some severe sloping on the front left side. Hole #11 Again, another par 3 that needs accuracy to a narrow but wide green with a lake that guards the front. This green slopes severely from back to front. Hole #18 The tee shot is the key to this hole. Bite off as much as you can on this dogleg right and it is a pretty easy birdie. Water protects the right side of the complete hole. The green is guarded by three front side bunkers and water on the right. A great finishing hole. The amenities are first rate and the staff is.............okay but they are protective of their courses and I'm glad for it. The restaurant is exceptional. You will never be disappointed!

A late September wedding and it was really chilly on the water, but the views are quite lovely. The holiday event was really nice and drew a large crowd. We didn't wait to see Santa, but we did enjoy some cookies and punch and we also got to spend time with the sweet animals there for the nativity. There were some school choir performances that we heard a little bit of. I will say that both times I've been here, the bathrooms were either closed off or very hard to find. Where are they? Does anyone know? No one had an answer either time I was there. So as long as you don't have to go potty, it is a great event venue. They also had a couple food trucks there during the recent event and the chili was really good. They had some interesting baked potato options too. My son and I enjoyed visiting the Tudor House and I thought the December event was well orchestrated.

Not being very familiar with the Portage Lakes area, I had no idea what to expect. It's tucked away in a residential area, so not some places you would stumble across unless you knew it was there. I thought my GPS was leading me astray as I pulled up to the cul-de-sac out front, before seeing the signs. It was an outdoor event so I didn't get the full experience of touring the inside of the house, but I can't say enough good things about the yard, the views, the setup, the food. The house/mansion backs up to the lake and the view is spectacular. There's ample parking but the overflow lot is a bit of a walk. My only criticism would be that the drive leading up to the house is very dark and narrow so it could use more lighting for night time events. This is an awesome place for an outdoor wedding if you're willing to chance the weather in northeast Ohio!

My mom is impossible to shop for, so I was super excited when I came across this Mother's Day special on the Akron Glass Works Facebook page. It is a beautiful old church converted into and art space right off of the University of Akron campus. There were about 12 people total with two instructors for the group. They gave a demonstration and then thoroughly went over all the steps with an emphasis on safety. I was a little nervous working with molten hot glass, but the professionalism of the instructors set me at ease. They're by your side the whole time... but you're actually creating the piece yourself. I have been to other glass blowing studios where the instructors are so hands-on, that you feel like you took no part in the entire process. Not this place. I definitely felt like I was making something and they were just there to make sure I didn't burn my hand off. The whole process took less than an hour and our pieces were available for pickup the next day. We each got to make two glass flowers which all turned out beautifully. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for something different to do! We had such a great time!

Also the brown paper covering them kind of detracted from the display. I would recommend steaming the tablecloths. And find a better way to protect the tables other than paper.

I found the Diamond Match Party Center from some google searches, and I'm so thankful I did! Jan made this whole event painless, easy, and elegant. She went above and beyond to color coordinate our event and set up the space perfectly for our needs before we even arrived. We adored the decor and the decorating she has selected for this unique and interesting historic space. Everything about the service and venue we received greatly exceeded our expectations, and made what could have been a difficult endeavor, a pleasant and wonderful collection of memories.
