I was a loyal family with this daycare for three years and always paid tuition on time and in full…read more Unfortunately, my experience at the end has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I have not received my deposit, which has been owed to me since August. The daycare has cited bankruptcy as the reason, but since then there has been little to no communication, no updates on the status of my funds, and I have essentially been ignored whenever I follow up. After doing some research, I learned that I am not the only one affected. Other families have also not received their deposits, and there are even teachers who have not been paid. This raises serious concerns about how the situation has been handled. It is incredibly frustrating and disheartening to be treated this way after years of loyalty and reliability. If you are considering enrolling your child here, proceed with extreme caution. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise against trusting your money--or your peace of mind--with a business that is clearly struggling and failing to communicate or take responsibility. Do not sign up with this daycare.

The Montessori approach here is outstanding--our child is not only learning academically but also developing independence, confidence, and a genuine love for learning. The classrooms are beautifully set up, safe, and full of engaging materials that spark curiosity. Communication with the staff is excellent; they keep us updated and are always responsive to our questions. It's clear they put the children first in everything they do. My granddaughter looks forward to going every day, which says it all. We are so grateful to have found this school and highly recommend Guidepost Montessori Duluth to any family looking for a supportive, enriching, and joyful environment for their little one. ~NKelly

I finally wanted to take the time to write this review and express my disgust for a teacher by the…read morename of Mrs. Smith (short, dirty blonde hair) back when my daughter was in first grade. My daughter still recalls, to this day, how Mrs. Smith would scold her over the most insignificant things. She would tell her not to yawn in class, as if she wasn't allowed to be tired or could control when she yawned. She would never do this to the other students in the class if they yawned, despite the fact that they would also be talking in the middle of class while my daughter stayed quiet and well-behaved. My daughter was one of the very few Asians in the school at the time, and this behavior was clearly discriminatory. It is vile and repulsive to think that a teacher treats her students differently based on their race, but the fact remains that she would never scold the other white kids for the same things that she would scold my daughter for. After moving to California, the difference was like night and day. Every single teacher she had only ever praised her for being one of the brightest students they ever had. Her reading comprehension was 5 grade levels above her own, she took honors classes for writing, science, and math, and she kept straights A's for every subject all throughout her schooling. She was such a happy, smart, and disciplined student that multiple teachers asked me what my secret was to raising her. To see such a stark difference between how the teachers in California treated her versus Mrs. Smith, it was especially clear who the issue was. Mrs. Smith, if you happen to be reading this or someone has made you aware of this post, know that my daughter is now on a full academic scholarship at a prestigious university in California, and I have no doubt that she will be making a positive impact on the world. Despite your discouragement and discrimination towards her from a young age, she stayed passionate towards learning , so when she inevitably becomes successful, she will make sure that she speaks out against terrible people like you who target specific students. I certainly hope you're not teaching because someone like you should not be interacting with children, let alone educating them. You should have never been able to get a teaching degree in the first place, and the fact that you were able to get a job in the first place shows how flawed our education system can be. Unfortunately, the U.S. has too many of these discriminatory educators, and it's despicable. It's truly unfortunate that I only came to know about this later, after my daughter saw how differently the teachers in California treated her. When she was at Berkeley, she was young and didn't want to cause any trouble for me or her, but if I had known about this sooner, I would have brought this to the attention of the school, immediately. I honestly don't know if anything would have been done about her behavior because the front office was always hostile and rude towards me, and I could feel racist energy coming from them as well. I'm very passionate about this issue because I grew up in Georgia in the '70s/'80s where my family and I had to endure so much racism, and I don't want to see anybody have to go through the same things I did, especially my own child! For this very reason, I made it my life's mission to move to California, to an area with a predominantly Asian population, and it was the best decision. We are so happy in California, and we couldn't imagine being in any other state in the U.S. I know Georgia has changed a lot over the years, and even though there is a large ethnic community there now, we would never sacrifice the amazing weather, less mosquitoes, and the greater diversity of California to ever move back to Georgia.

They will tell you it was handled timely and orderly, but those are only lies. However, the school is probably somewhat safer now that I raised hell to provide a better protocol when a student threatens another. At least I hope so. This isn't about money, or defaming a school, this is about making ALL schools safer for our children. Period. They did not do that with mine.

I previously took him to a different daycare…read morethat he could not adjust to, whether it was the teachers, schedule, I'm not sure, but as soon as we took him to core, he completely changed for the better! My son has now been moved up 2 times because of his progression. Before bringing him here, my pediatrician recommended a developmental therapist for him based on his 18 month check up, yet after working with the teachers here, he is beyond his age in speaking and social skills. Every time he moves up a class I get so sad he's leaving his teacher and think there's no way the next teacher will be as good as this one, yet every time, the teachers are exactly what he needs in that stage of development for him. I love that they have a garden, a class fish or similar in most classes, and other amazing learning tools to teach your child about more than just how to play to color. They really teach responsibility and are thorough in ensuring they're receiving an amazing education. If you are looking for a day care that cares about education and fostering healthy parent /teacher/child relationships, please come to core. Your child will love it. (Picture is in the hallway!)
