Extremely concerning recruitment experience.
I went through the recruitment process with GWK Travelex Netherlands and was asked to provide a copy/photo of my physical bank card containing sensitive card information. I questioned this request and refused to provide information that I considered unsafe to share.
After raising my concerns, the recruitment process was terminated. I was subsequently told that the decision was based on my "communication" and that the interactions had not provided a sufficiently positive basis for a working relationship.
I then submitted a formal complaint with specific questions about the recruitment process, the request for my banking information, and the handling of my personal data. The response I received did not actually address those questions in substance. Instead, the focus was shifted back to my communication.
I find this extremely concerning and very disappointing from an organisation handling people's personal and financial information.
I have retained the relevant correspondence and documentation and intend to raise the matter with the appropriate authorities for independent assessment.
This review reflects my personal experience and the written correspondence I received during the recruitment process. I believe applicants should be able to question requests for sensitive financial information without being characterized negatively for doing so.
I would strongly encourage anyone applying for a position to carefully consider what personal and financial information they are being asked to provide and why. read more
