You can at least expect your child to obtain a good education for sending them to a catholic…read moreschool. However what you don't get to see is what goes on behind the closed doors once you drop your child off at school. The teachers are over worked, underpaid and the building itself is understaffed. How can a child get the most of the teachers attention when they are in a classroom with a teacher who has to give attention the a few children because they are deemed problem children and need the extra attention. While other children are being left to the side because the teachers just cannot deal with the rest of the class at that time. Not to mention letting teachers go with actually telling them why they were let go other than you do not go with our mission. Your mission means nothing when you as a management team cannot even follow the mission. When summer camp comes around it seems like it is okay for the students to be outside in 100 plus degrees heat as long as they are doing water play but according to the DHA they are not supposed to be outside when it's that hot no matter if water play is going on or not. You can do better for the children and for the staff. Times are changing and it is time the ways of thinking change with it. It is not a family there if you are not in with the in group then you are the outcast and looked down on. Time to get over that you are not in high school any more..

First Presbyterian of Ambler is a great community of people led by a couple of great pastors…read more My honest thoughts are that this community is thriving and is prayerfully seeking out how they can better serve the surrounding community. Pastors Ryan and Langdon are very friendly and humble guys who welcomed my wife and I from our very first Sunday. To give you a quick idea, we met them on our first Sunday there and the next Sunday without having communicated with them at all, they remembered our names and asked how we were doing. A few weeks after that, I was able to speak with them both more and was incredibly humbled by how kind and intentional they both are with building relationships. Their sermons are second to none. It's evident that they put a great deal of prayerful effort into preparation. It was honestly what kept us coming back when we first started visiting. They have regular series and take time to exegetically work through a passage. I could go on for a while about that, but just know that their sermons are personal, passionate, Scriptural, and intentional. There is a traditional service as well as a contemporary service. We attend the contemporary service which is always full of friendly people. The music is also contemporary and has multiple instruments. There is child care during the services, a youth ministry, small groups, and many other ministries. Communion is administered weekly which is something that was important to us. If you have any other questions about my experience here feel free to contact me! You can also call the church office, they are always willing to help.

We join together here in a journey toward peace and justice for all persons. Today's services were a wonderful celebration of the Mardi Gras season reminding us the origin and similarities lent has to other religions celebrations that help us focus on the important things in our lives. It has been said it is not first a time of giving up but a time to re-choose. In Carnival we celebrate with masks and over the top costumes that allow everyone to be equals with no hierarchy, no socioeconomic division no leaders separate from followers just all having fun together as community. Today the band CCR (Creedless Creekwater Revival) really had the place rocking with classics like Lean on Me, Paul Simon's Take Me to the Mardi Gras, Iko Iko and When the Saints Go Marching In. They were really great and everyone in the place was smiling, clapping and left feeling so much better then when they came in! If you are searching for somewhere to go each week and refocus, re-energize and learn about respecting others and seeing the good in everyone no matter how different they may be then you. You should try this place out. I'm not even an official member and only been coming here this last year so don't think I have anything other then a new friend to gain out of asking you to come! I hope to see you there.

This is a great place to go if you have kids because they have many educational programs for children. The building itself is modern yet beautiful. I live my life very traditionally but I definitely vote as a liberal because I don't think my views should confine others' lives. This open-minded place of worship provides the tradition and structure I want without forcing me to box in my beliefs. Wish I lived closer now! This group openly supports civil unions as civil rights. Their banner supporting this has been stolen and defaced before, which is a shame. If that happened at a Christian church or a mostly-black church or happened to be a hate symbol at a temple, there would be an all-out outrage. To their credit, the congregation responds to press queries and continually replaces the banner. The group really acts with dignity instead of holding in a great deal of anger.
