It wasnt really working, I was doing too much cardio and not enough weights so i was just staying the same shape and not really getting lean and toned. Plus it was soooooo boring!!!! SO with that I joined Evo fitness. The results really speak for themselves, I even cheated a fair bit on the diet and still lost weight (mainly around the tummy area) but what I was super happy with was the muscle I had gained. For once my dweeby little arms were finally getting some sort of shape, my legs looked great and my arse fit perfectly into my jeans. Some parts of the diet are hard but to be honest you need to be dedicated if you want to change, and if you dedicate to this YOU WILL! The team are AMAZING. I find lunch time or just after is great time to go as it's quieter. There are loads of free classes too from yoga to spinning to pilates and zumba! I'm yet to try these out but I'll get around to it. There's plenty of different machines and props to work with too. There's vending machines with protein bars as well as drinks incase you feel peckish or faint ( (and it happened to me - I was hardly working out that much!) Aura in Trim is pretty decent for a public leisure centre in that it has lots of facilities…read moreincluding a pool, gym, fitness studio, bowling and a sauna/ steam room. They also offer a few programs such as diet and weight management, fitness classes, swimming lessons etc., and if you become a member, you can get your own training program. The fitness studio is not too big but they have a good number of cardio machines and weights. The price for walk-in is cheaper the earlier you go (around 5 euro before 5pm, but increases to 8.50 euro in the evenings). The pool is also timetabled specifically for free swim so I think you would have to confirm the timings as theres lessons on pretty often. I went a few times around 5pm and 6pm, and I noticed that around 4-5pm is pretty busy with a lot of teenagers, while after 6pm is less busy and mostly adults in the gym. The lockers cost 1 euro by the way, and they sell swim gear and energy bars and drinks. The only thing was that it's not the cleanest gym and not being able to free swim at any time is quite inconvenient, but other than that it serves it's purpose as a fitness centre well, is great for kids as well as adults, and is quite inexpensive compared to private gyms with no contract needed.

The "movement" ethos…read morepermeates everything we do there and I'm already starting to feel big improvements in my back and shoulders after years of struggling with pain and discomfort from an old whiplash injury. The classes are fun, diverse and challenging. You can focus on strength, stretch, balance, mobility or some mix of all of those depending on your needs and your interests. There's a great atmosphere in the classes and it isn't a struggle to get myself to go to classes at all. In fact i hate missing them and can notice the difference in my body if it's been a few days since I've been. I've only been going a couple of months but it's already obvious that Andy knows his stuff and is really keen to make sure that the programme is tailored to each persons needs. If you've done the monotonous soulless gyms and are ready to try something different and excited then I'd highly recommend AM Fitness.

Love Boogie Bounce with Lucy at Unique Physique!! The class is fun, but you still get a serious,…read moresweaty workout. Lucy is a great instructor- full of energy, friendly, and motivating without being intimidating about it. The first part of class is choreographed cardio on the mini trampoline. There are safety handles so don't worry! It takes a few songs to get acquainted with the feeling of being on the trampoline, but even as you get your footing and learn the moves you're still having fun and working hard. The last part of the class is strength training focusing on arms, abs, and butt/thighs. You will feel the burn! Boogie Bounce is the kind of class you look forward to, and if I'm looking forward to working out, Lucy is definitely doing something right.
