The biggest drawback for me is that this isn't a true 24/7 gym. My employer covers my membership at…read moreGenesis, which is a great perk of working for the county. I work an unusual schedule and often finish in the middle of the night. For half the year, that works perfectly--there's hardly anyone at the gym when I go after work. But the rest of the year, I run into the problem of limited hours because the gym closes on Friday and Saturday nights while I'm working. Sure, I could adjust my routine, but that would cut into family time, which I'm not willing to sacrifice. I've read many of the reviews, and I agree with most of the feedback--both the good and the bad. For example, the hot tub is almost always out of service. They really should adjust the chemical maintenance schedule to a more user-friendly time. I don't know the logistics, but adding a key fob or passcode system seems like an easy fix for security. Every other gym in town--even the smaller ones--has something like that. On the positive side, the classes are excellent and provide a solid workout if you choose to attend. If you want to learn to swim or play tennis, they've got you covered. My kids take lessons there and absolutely love it. The locker rooms and showers are generally clean. When they aren't, it's usually because users don't pick up after themselves. Just don't leave your belongings in a locker overnight--they will notice and leave you a note. Overall, the facility is nice and has everything you need to meet your fitness goals.

I've been using Genesis for a long while now, and I used to be pretty impressed but now with the…read moreamount of offers they are running has overwhelmed this gym and they clearly don't have the facilities for it. Everything is constantly crowded with people that don't know what they're doing and swarms of frats. It's become almost worse than the overcrowding of the kstate rec. the locker rooms constantly smell now and you can barely use most things. Very sad that I'm spending $70+ a month just for genesis to give away memberships and overcrowd the gyms. Won't be staying if this isn't fixed.

Poor customer service and outdated technology. Do not sign up for a membership with this studio…read moreunless you are 100% committed. I have been contacting them for the past month to cancel my membership but I have not gotten as single response and my credit card continues to be charged. I went in to the studio in early April to cancel my membership and the receptionist said she could not help me and told me to call or email. I called with no answer. I emailed on April 30th and got no response. I called again to follow up and had to leave a message. No response. Now today my credit card was charge again for a studio that I have not be able to visit and take classes since Jan.

A friend told me that the first class at this place was free, so I thought, hey, why not? It was…read morekind of confusing to find the door (it's sort of my the to-go line for the restaurant outside btw) but I saw someone walking with a yoga mat and figured following her would be a good plan. It was. You go up a flight of stairs and it's the first door that you come to. Go in and there is a little waiting room area, where you sign up for the class. The woman who led our class (I think her name was Jessa) checked us in, and asked if we had any injuries, etc which I appreciated. I didn't bring a yoga mat so I borrowed one (which had a very nice smell... Which is sort of random, i know, but it was nice). Then we went into the studio, and it was so pretty! There were new hardwood floors, lots of windows, and a cool yoga photo on the front wall. It felt very welcoming. Jessa was a great teacher, very patient and helped me make small corrections. I went to the gentle flow one so it was pretty calm, but was told that there was another class after that was much harder. The one I was in had a wide range of people, which was nice. Jessa made it seem kind of familial, like in the beginning she said it was their 6th birthday on Saturday and they were going to have free classes and do a champagne toast after, and even if you didn't want to come to a class you could still come for the toast. Cool place. I'd definitely recommend trying it out for a class, whether you've never done yoga before or are just looking for a new place. It's free the first time, so either you find that you like it and come back, or you don't, but at least you tried something new. Either way, seems like a win to me :)
