The artists are also wonderful in making you feel comfortable and getting right to the point but keeping you informed during the process. Twice I've stopped in to see Mike Knox. The first was for me, the second for my boyfriend. My daughter was friends with his sister and said he was really good. I can only say that he is rather rude and condescending. He only wants you to come in with what you want already printed out. I had ideas what I wanted, but wasn't sure how to put it together. He said to come back when I knew exactly what I wanted. Since my bf knew what he wanted (covering a light simple previous tattoo), every picture I showed Mike was No, it won't work. He wasn't even willing to work with the new tattoo. Apparently he just want to trace and color in, as opposed to being a real tattoo ARTIST, and create! You can't say this is unusual since it happened to me twice, and other reviewers have stated the same. Angelo really knows what he is doing! I was a walk in and to my knowledge I had brought in an easy and straight forward piece. I have been to other tattoo artists that only seem to let you just put the paper on the body part and not try on the actual stencil, along with not being open to changes because they have too many opinions of what your tattoo should look like; side note, waited for months to get in for something extremely small. At the end of the day it should be what the client is requesting and open to listening. Angelo worked so well with me and what I wanted. the body part I requested was extremely difficult to make sure the lines would match up when I was relaxed in standing position along with being parallel with the ink above. Very unprofessional. I sat there for over 3 hours, picture already provided to front desk staff and everything. I sat there reading similar reviews just to experience the same unprofessionalism. Front desk staff came to me and told me verbatim that every artist overlooked my tattoo and did not want to do it AND the one who normally does the tattoos in that area (behind the ear) didn't want to do it either. My sister and I went to get matching sunflower tattoos. We arrived at 1100 and waited until 3:30. At 3:30 the lady at the desk came up to us and said that she noticed we had been waiting awhile and that the artists kept moving our tattoos to the bottom of the pile. She said do you want me to go ask if they're comfortable doing your tattoo. She came back and said none of the artists feel comfortable doing a realistic tattoo. I told her this could have been established at 11:00 not after a 4.5 hour wait. I told her it was very unprofessional and was very disappointed. read more

If you want to get a tattoo, don't go to Gypsy Rose and definitely do not get a tattoo done by Mike. He's an absolute no show. They will charge you 50 bucks just to completely waste your time. I had an appointment made and upon 2 hours before it was supposed to be done, I get a call from Gypsy Rose saying "something came up". So I thought, okay stuff happens ya know? I rescheduled the week after and when I walked in for my appointment I had to wait in a line for 30mins just so they could tell me "he's not here" what do you mean he's "not here"? I made an appointment, they called me a day BEFORE to confirm it. They wasted 2 weeks of my time that I could of been actually getting a tattoo. It might not of been Gypsy roses fault but how does a company not know when a guy is working or not.. I mean that's the whole point of an appointment. Best shop I've been too. I've been tatted before in California and Indiana and this shop far surpasses those. Besides the great customer service and the cleanliness and professionalism of the place, the work is superb. I got my piece done by a pretty cool chick named Charlie. Walked in with an idea, she sketched it up exactly how I wanted and when I had to reschedule they had no problems at the front desk. I had my nose pierced (not here) about a month ago. My nose ring fell out and I called the original shop to have someone put it back in. Great location I think that's why it gets as much business as it does. The staff the greets you and helps you always has a smile and help you understand things. The price starts at $50 no matter how small you want it. I tried to get a finger tattoo a few weeks ago and they said they wouldn't do it because I didn't seem to have enough tattoos to understand how fast it will fade. The artist ended up telling me either I'd have to change the location of the tattoo or I'd have to goto a different shop. I ended up changing the location and I got a quarter size tattoo of a cross and was charged $90. Not making anymore plans to go back for tattoos but I love the girls that do piercings they are genuinely sweet and make you feel very comfortable! read more

If you want to spend all day waiting for the appointment that was double booked or wait while they try to do a 3 hour tattoo on someone else that they started 20 min before your appoinent then this is your place. They won't have your drawing ready if you come in before hand so at your appointment they can just start. Nope. We could see several employees just standing around, they were not busy, we were told they only had one person available to do walk-ins, that that person was busy all day and the girl at the front desk pretty rude about it to boot.
