Our server was super nice and was able to speak Italian which was great considering our German is NICHT. She was the best server we had in Villach, where many other restaurants were nice but not helpful with translation problems. The food, oh my the food is amazing. Really really good. If you are looking for a modern twist on classic Austrian dishes, you have found your place. The menu is small but thankfully so, as everything is presented well and is fresh, tasty and unique. My boyfriend has a garlic soup which came with a bacon roll garnish {amazing} and wasn't too heavy like we had the night before at a different restaurant. I had an apple curry soup which I am still craving today. We also had fried pork with a berry sauce (wow) and I had a very nice steak and potatoes. Portions are perfect, not too big which I actually appreciated since the food itself was perfect. We also ordered dessert - a heavenly chocolate cake with a beautiful cream and fresh fruits, all nicely presented. Breakfast was served every morning 730-9am. Typical Austrian breakfast, bread, butter, cheese, jam, marmalade, ham, coffee, tea, orange juice and hardboiled eggs (that she served with a handmade wool beanie to keep warm: so cute!) The owner, Mrs. Gudrun, was extremely nice. Always ready to help. Adorable! There is nothing negative about this place! The price for these huts plus cleaning service is incredibly reasonble. Parking is precarious and narrow; however, Aldin, the snow mobile driver also acts as a butler and helps you unload everything from car to snow mobile to hut and back. Our hut was part of the Meizeit Huette complex on the Kaernten side of the slopes. Hut #7 is directly in front of the Gastwirthaus and directly linked to the slopes. It sleeps 11 if some are willing to be on a pull-out couch or in bunkbeds. It has three bathrooms and a very tiny kitchen. Be prepared to bring all groceries, drinks, coffee machine and any appliances you use in the kitchen if you want to cook everyday. There are adequate pots and pans, dishes and glassware. There is no store in "town". You have to drive off the mountain if you really want something, but with all the snow, it is not worth it. Better pack it all in the car before you get there! Plus, it is way too expensive to eat in the restaurants everyday. We had such an amazing time though, we are going back in a couple of weeks!

The best part about this hotel is they have air condition and breakfast each morning. There is a mall close by and a pharmacy. There's a code to enter the hotel and it just has a warm cozy feeling there. I stayed here while my sons basketball team played in the area so I was only here for breakfast in the morning and at night to sleep but my stay was pleasant.

They were quick to help with anything we needed, for example making us food at late or very early hours, they filled our waters for free, and they made any accommodations that we needed. It also was their holiday and they kept the hotel up and running just so our entire group of 90+ people could stay there. The room service was impeccable. They were in and out quickly, but in the short time they were there they really cleaned the room. They left it looking great. They truly made it feel home-like and as comfortable as possible. Once again, the experience here was awesome and I would 10/10 recommend it to anyone going to Klagenfurt and they 100% have my business next time I am in town.

It is owned by a very nice couple from Germany. I was there in the off-season and they made accommodations for me that were not typical for that time of year. The room was clean, and they offer breakfast. Nice place to stay in Pörtschach and very reasonably priced. The pricing in summer is a bit higher, of course, but given the location it's worth it.
