Very flavorful and fast experience. Oxtail and mashed potatoes 10/10: the oxtail meet is so tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes pair so well with the oxtail. Mushroom, steak, and egg yolk 9/10: soo flavorful and balance of veggies and protein. Amazing textures and flavors. Sparkling sangria: 8/10 I don't normally live the taste of alcohol but this was great. Not tooooo strong and if tastes pretty good if you mix it with the orange juice. Fresh orange juice: 10/10 so tangy and delicious. I can't recommend it enough. Patatas bravas: 9/10 solid no complaints! Dessert Tapas: - bread dessert (Tarija): 11/10 amazing dessert that is creamy, cameralized, and has a mochi like texture. This fried chewy dessert is not too sweet and such an affordable price. - coconut pudding 9/10 solid and refreshing if you like flan - bread, chocolate oil, salt 7/10: I live the complex flavors. The Pktus is a very small restaurant but big in terms of quality and Catalan food specialities. It's an amazing experience worst of at least having once in your life. First off, we weren't expecting too much because the meal was not expensive. But soon, we received an amuse bouche of of an avocado salsa (on the house) that set us on a different path. From then on, as each course came out, we were pleasantly surprised by the fresh and interesting take the chef had for each dish that came out. My first course was a fish salad - two ways. The first way was a simple tuna salad with tomatoes, onions and lettuce. The second was anchovy, pimiento and lettuce. Over both salads was a mustard vinaigrette that was a wonderful foil for the briny taste of the seafood. My second course was essentially a paella with mushrooms, pimiento, garlic, and asparagus. It was quite good with just enough crunchy bits on the bottom of the pan. For dessert, I had what looked like an eclair but was anything but. It was a light and fluffy choux pastry topped with a berry compote, cream, and a liquid dark chocolate. This sounds like a heavy dessert but it is anything but. Must-try! I also got to try the grilled steak, served with Belgian style skinny fries, garlic aioli and creamy pimiento aioli. I would suggest choosing the chicken or the ribs because those tasted even better. We got free drinks with our meal too - it was part of the meal of the day. To complete the experience, the chef himself came out to see how we were doing and how we liked the food. The food was fair - the soup, which was the soup of the day so unfortunately to me is unidentifiable, was sweet and creamy. Very similar to tomato bisque with some chives on top.
