Very cute place (and waitress as well). Unfortunately, if you can't get by with a non-English speaking establishment, this won't be your place. I got by speaking English with aggressive hand language (pointing at the menu really and making shapes in the air). They have an English menu, not to worry, so you can simply smile and point. The cafe had a very french bistro atmosphere to it - very cute and quaint. The place filled up quickly, and at one point there was only one waitress (so expect slower service). However, as many of the patrons seemed to be locals, I think they didn't require fast service as they were pleasantly chatting away. I, on the other hand, had to go up to the waitress when she was making coffee in order to get my check (which is fine to do if you're in a hurry!) The food was fair - the soup, which was the soup of the day so unfortunately to me is unidentifiable, was sweet and creamy. Very similar to tomato bisque with some chives on top. The app I ordered, tuna belly salad, was okay - the tuna was pre-cooked as it was cold. The entree, salmon with asparagus, was very good as well. Definitely worth a venture, as this shop is fairly close to the popular high-end shopping street, Passeig de Gracia, so it's convenient to go to after a hard days worth of spending money. read more

Ok if your a fan of eggs benny this is a "must stop to try". A friend of mine told me this was also a Michelin restaurant so you know I had to try this spot out! Small little intimate resto located near the pasa de gracia strip. They are clean and service is attentive! What we ordered from the menu. Must try the fresh orange juice! It totally adds the umph to your breaky. I had French onion soup it was awesome too! I was feeling a little sick but that didn't stop me from eating the eggs benny Please keep note the Benny's do not come with anything besides just two eggs. So nice! We stumbled on this French inspired bistro tonight. What a great find! They have a terrific patio area for outside seating. Tonight (August) is a little to humid so we opted to sit inside. Decor is nicely upscale but more importantly the food was delicious. I had a salad and tuna tartare, my guy had some oysters, salad and lagastinos. Very nicely done. I have to send a huge thank you to yelp - would never have known this was here without it. When traveling, I really like to find reasonable restaurants with above par food since we are already spending $$$ on airfare & hotels. read more

Our local friend suggested this place... so we followed her lead; just a short walk from our hotel. Since we just had a complimentary breakfast at our hotel, we unfortunately did not have the pleasure of dining here. We did order a cappuccino; very strong but good if you like strong coffee. I liked it. We sat in the patio area, which was nice, but the restaurant itself is very charming. I hope we get to stop by one of these nights before we fly back home... Went there for dinner on a summer Wednesday because somebody recommended it and I was not disappointed. Had the dinner menu with cold Cucumber soup, curry chicken and desert all very tasty and good. Salads, kish Lorraine and hamburgers also good. A French bistro, reasonable price with good quality food and cozy atmosphere. Quite simply, one of the best French breakfasts I have ever had. Flawless pastry basket, replete with French jam and unsalted butter. Perfect fresh-squeezed orange juice, cappuccino and cafe Americano. Finished this with the best eggs Benedict I have ever had: simple, perfectly cooked with a subtle hollandaise sauce with that masterful blend of egg, vinegar, chive, tarragon and cream. Loved this place. Sat outside, the food was terrific, staff was friendly although the service was not good the first night. My son and I enjoyed our meals and loved dessert as well. We had Chicken Caesar and Iberian ham with hard toast to start. Then we shared the Pork chop with gratin dauphinois and the Chicken stuffed with mozzarella and Iberian ham, had a side of mushrooms and home made chips (fries). We had caramel ice cream and an egg a la niege with custard. Fyi, I came back just for dessert the following night Cheesecake and Cappuccino and the service was much better. read more

Lovely place-great ambiance! I came here after work for a quick bite to eat. The waitress and bar tender were both very pleasant and the service was quick relative to other restaurants in Barcelona. I had the steak tartare, oysters and a glass of cava. They were all delicious! I would definitely recommend this place for any occasion. read more

We loved this place! It was one of few places open before 9 or 10 (at 8am) and we went for breakfast. They have a decent selection and it was the best eggs Benedict I have ever tasted! Cute, French style bistro. There is nothing particularly outstanding about it: good food, pleasant service, central location. However there is a big bonus, it's open from 12pm - 1am with NO breaks for siesta!! That's not easily found in Barcelona, this means you can enjoy a beautiful late lunch around 3pm, when most of the places around will be closed. That's the time I was there, and lunch was great, gin n tonic was refreshing., I would come back to try it for dinner. read more

My wife and I don't care for tapas, which is a bit of a challenge in a place like Barcelona. Fortunately we found Cafe Emma. I had the duck confit which was probably the best dish of that nature I've ever had. It came to the table in cast iron piece of Staub cookware. It really felt like an authentic French brasserie. Of course we ate about 10 pm on a Friday night and it was like we were having the early bird special - the place was empty. By 11:30 when we left the place was packed. Great choice. read more

Service was very courteous. I don't speak Spanish and the waitress was patient enough to explain some of items on the menu. I had the set-menu which, as advised by most, is usually the best value in Spanish eateries. The bavettes were excellent, cooked with a nice pink center and slightly seared outer. The deviled eggs starter dish was also very tasty with the standout being the asparagus accompaniment to the dish. With this set-menu, I also had the morenge w/ creme anglaise dessert. What can I say the French know how to anglaise, and this cafe didn't disappoint. We also had the beef tartar dish. Not amahzing by any means but I did eat it all. I think it just needed a pinch of salt for my tastes. The bread brought to the table came with an anchovy butter spread (first time I've ever had this) that was delicious. I'd of paid for that if it wasn't free. Overall a good place to have lunch with choices that break from traditional Spanish tapas items. read more
