It was so bad that I had to go to Elizabeth Claire the next day to fix it. My hair is ~10 inches long and the stylist cut short pieces in the back and middle side of my hair that are 4 inches shorter than everything. else. It looks TERRIBLE in pretty much every hairstyle. It is even hard to put clips in because the short pieces fall out. I essentially have bangs on the sides of my head. The hair stylist at Elizabeth Claire felt bad for me and told me headbands would be my friend for the next few months. I actually can't even wear headbands because of those little pieces. It will take me ~ 1 year to grow out this monstrosity.

Then when I wanted my hair cut differently, I tried to explain how I wanted it cut. She got very offended and insulted, even though I thought I was being nice about it and she still cut it wrong. After all, it is my hair! At one point, she was sooo upset, she started pulling my hair very hard as she was cutting it. The tension was so high and it was very awkward. I tried making jokes to kighten the atmosphere and she wouldn't talk to me. I should have stopped her, told her off, and walked the hell out, but up until this time I thought I had a good relationship with her & even thought we were "Friends", so I stuck it out. I still over tipped her because I didn't want her upset. I felt guilty that she was upset, which now I am sooo angry with myself that I did not tell her off, give her no tip, and leave. Since that time, I refused to go back to her. Be careful and do not think she is a friend. She is out for herself & sadly I've realized she is not a very nice person.

What stands out most to me is Nicole's ability to create an environment where people genuinely feel comfortable, confident, and seen. Whether she's working with adults, couples, or kids, she has this incredibly calming and encouraging presence that makes the experience feel natural rather than overly posed or intimidating. As someone who has worked with remarkable photographers before, I can honestly say Nicole's work feels different. There's an intentionality behind everything she does, from the atmosphere she creates during sessions to the way she guides posing, lighting, expression, and movement. That guidance has honestly defined sessions for me in ways past experiences with other photographers never quite achieved. She somehow directs you while still allowing you to feel completely like yourself. And then the galleries arrive and somehow exceed expectations all over again. Her images feel both elevated and deeply personal at the same time. Beautifully artistic and polished, while still capturing personality and emotion in a way that feels authentic rather than manufactured. I've also been incredibly impressed by the consistency across very different types of sessions over the years. That kind of versatility is genuinely rare. ****Her newer studio space deserves its own mention because it is absolutely stunning!!!!! It's her own private, secluded space that she has thoughtfully made her own, with walls of windows that flood the rooms with natural light, surrounded by trees, and even an outdoor shower. It feels less like a studio and more like a retreat, clearly designed around the client experience and warm and relaxed from the moment you walk in. The setting itself does so much of the work in helping you settle in and feel at ease before the camera is ever picked up. Beyond being exceptionally talented, Nicole is also simply a genuinely kind human being who clearly cares deeply about the people she works with, and I think that comes through in the final images more than anything else. My friend happened to come here and her color turned out so beautiful I had to give Jackie's salon a try. I got a full balayage and I had never gotten so much lift on my brown hair. She asked if I want a trim and I said no thank you and she respected my wishes. I had never had my hair one style for so long but I really loved the balayage!
