I hired H&L to trim, thin and top off fruit trees at my parents' home in Laurinburg. They promptly came out to give an estimate, which was fair. Today, they did the job. The work was done to our specifications. Everything was cleaned up and hauled off. I found the owner, Harvey, to be quite professional and personable. My parents are happy, I am happy, and we were treated respectfully and as valued customers. I will definitely call H&L again when I need tree service. A job well done, in a timely fashion. Most terrible customer service experience ever. Guy scheduled a month out, didn't show up the day of the appointment and I had to call to be told his dump truck broke down the day prior. Totally understandable as I work construction and know how maintenance goes. Was told I would receive a call back and never did. Tried calling again that evening with no answer. Called the next morning at 7am to inquire about possibility of a reschedule (wanted to make sure if his dump was fixed someone would be able to meet him at the site) and was told "I don't do business at that time in the morning with anybody!" He further added that it was incredibly rude of me to call at such a time and that I'd have to find someone else to do my tree removal. I recommend spending your money on service that not only appreciates you but provides basic customer service. Wasted a month of time and now have to get new quotes, how rude of me. Also, business card states 24/7 emergency service and has no hours listed. read more
